Background: Breast cancer is a malignant neoplasm characterized by uncontrolled proliferation of breast epithelial cells, with potential for metastasis.
Objectives: To follow the change in the level of trace elements (TEs) and the extent to which these changes are related to the risk of breast cancer before taking chemotherapy or removing the tumor.

Background: Celiac disease (CD) is an autoimmune condition that affects the small intestine, triggered by the intake of gluten and related prolamines in genetically predisposed individuals. The anti-tissue tTG-IgA transglutaminase test is a primary screening method for suspected celiac disease.
Materials and Methods: Forty-five children with celiac disease were enrolled in the study, with an age range between 2–14 years, and 43 healthy subjects as the control group in the Medical City Hospital in Baghdad. Background: Chemerin, is regarded as an adipose-derived hormone regulating insulin sensitivity, lipid homeostasis, adipogenesis and inflammatory responses. It has previously been shown that serum chemerin levels are linked to metabolic syndrome and cardio-metabolic risk. More knowledge of its associations with lipid profile components might improve early cardiometabolic risk stratification.

This study contributes to the characterization of human macrophages in normal and pathological conditions such as cancer. We characterized a macrophage population expressing membrane-associated IL-18 (mIL-18) that shows peculiar proteomic, phenotypic, ultrastructural, and functional properties. mIL-18+ macrophages exhibit increased levels of key proteins involved in pathogen recognition, activation, migration, and endocytosis. They also display specialized functions in vesicle and actin filament transport and lipid metabolism, and have typical mitochondrial traits. Importantly, mIL-18+ cells dominate the peritoneal fluid of adult cancer patients and are present in the bone marrow of children with neuroblastoma. They express high levels of TREM2 but display …

Vehicle testing is conducted to evaluate safety, durability, environmental compliance, and performance. Various tests, such as crash, performance, durability, environmental impact, and chemical safety, are conducted to ensure that vehicles meet regulatory and quality standards. In crash testing, anthropomorphic test devices (ATDs), commonly referred to as dummies, are used to simulate the effects of collisions on the human body and to assess injury risks. Here future elementary and middle school teachers reflect on their experiences with science teachers encountered throughout their education and highlight their characteristics. The aim of the study was to create a program where teachers were given the explicit opportunity to reflect on their experiences through journaling that promoted reflective thought. Participants were 173 non-science and 120 science major prospective teachers enrolled in a small university in northeastern Turkey. Data were collected using document analysis. To this point, studies of Alzheimer’s genetics and endophenotypes have yielded a bounty of results that culminated in the first disease-modifying drugs, lecanemab and donanemab, in 2022. In this study, we analyzed the affective experiences and labor subjectivation processes of community psychologists working in intervention programs implemented by state institutions in Colombia for victims of the armed conflict, a conflict that remains ongoing in various regions of the country. By labor subjectivation processes, we refer (drawing on Foucault) to the ways in which individuals come to relate to themselves and to others through the norms, discourses, and practices that shape their roles within a given historical and institutional context—in this case, the field of psychosocial labor. This study aimed to determine how the composition and antibacterial properties of chitosan-based coating solution when treated with varying amounts of titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles (NPs). Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis showed that the modified TiO2 NPs were evenly distributed throughout the chitosan matrix. UV-Vspectra, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analyses demonstrated that the chitosan interacted with TiO2 NPs and possessed good compatibility. When tested against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, the chitosan-TiO2 nanocomposite proved to be an effective growth inhibitor. Water contamination with toxic heavy metals such as lead (Pb2+) and cadmium (Cd2+) poses serious risks to human health, plants, and ecosystems, making their effective removal a global challenge. Conventional treatment methods often exhibit limited efficiency; therefore, nanotechnology-based approaches are increasingly being explored. Dot-blot immunoassay is a quick, simple, and low-cost technique for identifying target analytes in food, clinical diagnostics, and the environment with a visual inspection. For this purpose, silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were synthesized using a sodium borohydride compound. Synthesized AgNPs were characterized using UV-Vs spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), dynamic light scattering (DLS), and zeta potential (ZP) tests. The global demand for effective environmental cleanup drives the need for innovative materials and techniques. 3D printing, which can produce complex and customized structures, offers promising solutions. PVC, a common, affordable, and durable polymer resistant to chemicals, is increasingly used for environmental applications. This report reviews recent advances in 3D-printed PVC for water purification, air filtration, and waste management. PVC’s strong properties, combined with the flexibility of 3D printing, enable the development of tailored, efficient components such as membranes, adsorbents, and catalytic supports. Researchers have utilised nature-inspired metaheuristic algorithms to find solutions for complex combinatorial optimisation problems and Non-deterministic polynomial (NP) problems. The N-queens problem is categorised as an NP-Hard problem as it becomes insurmountable for large N. This paper proposed a solution for the N-queens problem based on the Apiary Organisational-Based Optimisation Algorithm (AOOA). This in vitro study evaluated a novel endodontic sealer composed of BioRoot RCS modified with 1 wt.% titanium carbide (TC), sintered at 600°C. The investigation focused on calcium ion release and fracture resistance of treated teeth—two parameters critical for long-term success. Thirty extracted human mandibular premolars were assigned to three groups: control (unfilled), BioRoot RCS, and BioRoot RCS with TC. Following canal preparation and obturation, specimens were embedded in acrylic resin and subjected to vertical compressive load testing. The objective of this study is to investigate the impact of religious practices on resilience and experience personal growth after experiencing trauma in adolescents. FoMO is characterized by an apprehension of being excluded from significant experiences or opportunities. The purpose of this study was to report on the experience of using Project-based learning (PBL) in the human and social sciences course taught to first year students in dentistry at the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fez. The assessment method involved self-assessment using a questionnaire. The course plan used PBL methodology in face-to-face format as well as asynchronous meetings via Moodle®. The findings showed that students were satisfied while experimenting PBL which creates a dynamic learning environment. Based on the findings, we suggest an innovative neuropsychological framework of PBL encompassing socio-cognitive, socio-emotional and metacognitive domains.
