Anti-Melanogenic Compounds From Artocarpus Lakoocha, Patsarunnut Dachma

In this study, a purification of the methanol crude extract of A. lakoocha twigs resulted in the isolation of eight compounds (1–8). These compounds were identified as ß-amyrin acetate (1), lupeol (2), cudraflavone A (3), cycloartocarpin (4), brosimone I (5), artocarpin (6), oxyresveratrol (7), and hopeafuran (8). Their structures were elucidated through the interpretation of spectroscopic data and comparison with those previously reported. Subsequently, all the isolated compounds were evaluated for their anti-melanogenic activity. The results showed that fraction D (IC50: 12.04 ± 0.02 µg/mL) displayed potent inhibitory melanogenic activity in B16F10 melanoma cells, compared to positive control, arbutin (IC50: …

We outline a framework for evaluating scientific evidence of sentience, focusing on pain experience. It includes eight neural and cognitive-behavioural criteria, with confidence levels for each criterion reflecting the reliability and quality of the evidence. We outline the rationale for each criterion and apply our framework to a controversial sentience candidate: decapod crustaceans. We have either high or very high confidence that true crabs (infraorder Brachyura) satisfy five criteria, amounting to strong evidence of sentience. Moreover, we have high confidence that both anomuran crabs (infraorder Anomura) and astacid lobsters/crayfish (infraorder Astacidea) meet three criteria—substantial evidence of sentience. Summer base flows for rivers are critical for maintaining water quality, healthy fish populations, and a functional aquatic ecosystem. Low summer base flows can increase water temperatures and lower dissolved oxygen levels. These conditions can cause Brown Trout (Salmo trutta) energetic stress and result in lower angler catch. The goal of this study was to determine if low river flows and higher water temperatures influence angler catch rates of Brown Trout on the lower Logan River, Utah and to better understand angler use of the lower river. Northern pike Esox lucius are one of the most popular game fish in Minnesota. Many anglers have noticed that northern pike seemed to decrease in size throughout much of this state. Catch per unit of effort (CPUE) drives average weight for northern pike; within lakes, as CPUE goes up average weight decreases. Comparative cancer genomics can elucidate similarities in genome variation across different types of cancer. Current approaches are implemented through the identification of mutations in specific pathways present in multiple cancers. However, the major shortcoming of these approaches is in identifying specific genes that are similar rather than determining broad-scale patterns of variation in the genome. Similarities found in these patterns across cancers may be linked to similarities in driver mutations and thus lead to treatment approaches with a higher success rate. Polyvictimization and non-victimization adversity in adolescence is a prevalent and evolving issue that poses many implications for families, teachers, policymakers, and others. This study sought to examine whether polyvictimization and adversity longitudinally predict later delinquency, and the possible mediating role of parental context and social support on this relationship. Data was collected as part of the THV survey and the NatSCEV II and yielded a final sample of 791 youths ages 10-20. Poisson regression analyses and structural equation modeling were conducted. This report summarizes data-collection activities associated with the U.S. Geological Survey Humboldt Bay Water-Quality and Salt Marsh Monitoring Project. This work was undertaken to gain a comprehensive understanding of
water-quality conditions, salt marsh accretion processes, marsh-edge erosion, and soil-carbon storage in Humboldt Bay, California. Multiparameter sondes recorded water temperature, specific conductance, and turbidity at a 15-minute timestep at two U.S. Geological Survey water-quality stations:

Research on the negative effects of motherhood is typically described in terms of postpartum depression (PPD) or postpartum mood disorder (PPMD). This research employed a convergent mixed methods approach to explore the experiences of 11 undergraduate students enrolled in an online, introductory ecology course, and how their experience of connection to nature was influenced through the course, technology-mediated nature embedded within the course, and how their identities as emerging adults were impacted by their connection to nature. The pursuit of software safety standards has stalled. In response, commentators and policymakers have looked increasingly to federal agencies to deliver new hope. Some place their faith in existing agencies while others propose a new super agency to oversee software-specific issues. This turn reflects both optimism in the agency model as well as pessimism in other institutions such as the judiciary or private markets.
