Research On Regional Suitability Assessment And Promotion Mechanisms Of Conservation—Based Utilization Models For Black Soil, Xiaojie Liu, Liangjie Xin, Jiliang Ma, Yuxian Wang, Fan Zhang
Bulletin of Chinese Academy of Sciences (Chinese Version)
Black soil represents a high-quality and scarce arable land resource, serving as a critical foundation for ensuring food security in China. However, prolonged development and utilization have resulted in varying degrees of degradation of black soil in Northeast China, directly affecting national food security and ecological stability. Since 2015, China has initiated and progressively intensified efforts in black soil protection. Technical models such as the “Lishu Model” and the “Longjiang Model” have been developed, demonstrated, and promoted, leading to increasingly significant conservation outcomes. Nevertheless, current technical models for black soil protection face dual challenges: unclear suitability boundaries and difficulties in …

Construction Of Data Factor Circulation Law System In The United States And Its Reflection For China, Zihan Lin, Youmei Ma, Feng Guo
Bulletin of Chinese Academy of Sciences (Chinese Version)
As a pioneer country in the global digital economy, the United States has established a relatively complete system for the circulation of data elements. The focus is on government data openness, with the United States forming a legislative system for data openness at both federal and state levels to ensure data freedom and openness. In the field of personal data trading, the United States has established a relatively relaxed legal environment and data brokers to promote data circulation and trading. At present, China is actively promoting the market-oriented allocation reform of data elements, building a multi-level data element market, and …

Evolution Of International Collaboration In China’S Biomedical Technology And Policy Implications, Xinyu Liu, Fang Wang, Liang Xi
Bulletin of Chinese Academy of Sciences (Chinese Version)
In light of the rapid advancement of biomedical technologies and intensifying geopolitical competition over technological dominance, international cooperation in this field has garnered significant attention among scholars, policymakers, and industry leaders. This study employs comprehensive patent data spanning from 2002 to 2023 across the global biomedical landscape to systematically investigate the characteristics and evolution patterns of both global and Chinese biomedical inventions. Employing econometric analysis of patents and social network analysis, the research examines three key dimensions: patent output, technological pathways, and collaboration networks. Three research findings are derived. Firstly, China has transitioned from a “catch-up collaborator” to a critical …

Changing Characteristics Of Land Cover, Landscape Pattern And Ecosystem Services In The Bohai Rim Region Of China, Jiaqi Liu, Wei Chen, Hu Ding, Zhanhang Liu, Min Xu, Ramesh P. Singh, Congqiang Liu
Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science Faculty Articles and Research
Since the Anthropocene, ecosystems have been continuously deteriorating due to global climate change and human intervention. Exploring the changing characteristics of land use/land cover (LULC), landscape pattern and ecosystem service (ES) and their drivers is crucial for regional ecosystem management and sustainable development. Taking the Bohai Rim region of China as an example, we used the land use transfer matrix, landscape pattern index and InVEST model to analyze the changing characteristics of LULC, landscape pattern and six key ESs [crop production (CP), water yield (WY), carbon storage (CS), soil conservation (SC), habitat quality (HQ), landscape aesthetics (LA)] during 2000–2020. Detailed …

Comparing Two Transitioning Strategies To Paliperidone Palmitate Once-Every-6-Months, Martha Sajatovic
Comparing Two Transitioning Strategies To Paliperidone Palmitate Once-Every-6-Months, Martha Sajatovic
Faculty Scholarship
Background A double-blind, randomized, active-controlled, parallel-group, noninferiority trial (NCT03345342) demonstrated that paliperidone palmitate once-every-6-months (PP6M) was noninferior to paliperidone palmitate once-every-3-months (PP3M) in preventing relapse in clinically stable adults with schizophrenia. This post hoc analysis assessed efficacy and safety following transition to PP6M from paliperidone once-monthly (PP1M) versus PP3M. Methods Adults with schizophrenia who were clinically stable on moderate/high doses of PP1M or PP3M were randomly assigned 1:2 to dorsogluteal PP3M or PP6M treatment for 12 months. The primary efficacy measure was time to relapse during the 12-month DB phase. Secondary endpoints included change from DB baseline to endpoint in …

The Internal Law Of Democracy, Kevin M. Stack
The Internal Law Of Democracy, Kevin M. Stack
Vanderbilt Law Review
The conventional focus of election law is the constitutional, statutory, and judicial constraints on election officials. But the operation of elections also depends on the law that election officials themselves create. This “internal law of democracy”—produced by state and local election officials and addressed to election personnel and workers—provides on-the-ground guidance on registration, voting, and vote counting; specifies internal processes and protocols; and interprets and translates the meaning of constitutional and statutory law for use within the election bureaucracy.
This Article initiates examination of the internal law of democracy. The Article begins by introducing the idea of internal law—developed in …

Research Collection School Of Accountancy
The accountancy profession faces one of its most challenging periods as several factors converge to disrupt it. Technological advancements, the expanding role of accountants, declining student interest in accountancy, and increasing expectations for uniquely human capital all exert pressure on the profession to reinvent itself or face marginalisation. This study, funded by the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA), examines trends in the accountancy profession alongside accountancy education in Singapore. Its goal is to formulate a fit-for-purpose accountancy education for the new economy.
Why Do Consumers Switch? The Role Of Relational Uncertainty In Service Failures, Jungyun Hur, Soocheong (Shawn) Jang
Why Do Consumers Switch? The Role Of Relational Uncertainty In Service Failures, Jungyun Hur, Soocheong (Shawn) Jang
Journal of Tourism Insights
This study explores the role of relational uncertainty in consumers’ switching intentions in a service failure encounter. The results reveal that in an established consumer-service provider relationship, relational uncertainty plays a significant role in the process of consumers’ switching intentions whereas dissatisfaction with service failures does not influence switching intentions. Further, the findings suggest that relational uncertainty mediates the effect of perceived loss on switching intentions. These findings were integrated into a discussion of theoretical and managerial implications for effective service management emphasizing the influential role of long-term relational value in comparison with incident-specific transaction value in an established relationship.

Insecta Mundi
Tephritidae (Diptera) were sampled in Bangladesh between 2019 and 2023 by hand-collecting on bamboo shoots and using traps separately baited with 2-component BioLure (ammonium acetate and putrescine) or torula yeast. We report here results of our surveys that yielded 1,907 specimens of 20 species belonging to subfamilies or tribes other than Dacini. New species occurrence records for Bangladesh include Acroceratitis bimacula Hardy, A. parastriata David and Hancock, Galbifascia soalia (Séguy), and Xanthorrachis annandalei Bezzi (Dacinae, Gastrozonini), Felderimyia fuscipennis Hendel, Ptilona conformis Zia, and Tritaeniopteron tetraspilotum Hardy (Phytalminae, Acanthonevrini), Adrama apicalis Shiraki, Euphranta flavothoracica (David, Hancock and Sachin), and an …
