Influences Of Sex, Morph, And Weather On Roosting Distributions In Overwintering White-Throated Sparrows (_Zonotrichia Albicollis_), Rebecca Stephens

Honors Theses

Habitat choice influences survival by affecting access to resources, shelter from predators, mating opportunities, and numerous other costs and benefits. As such, habitat conservation is crucial, especially for migratory songbirds which are declining primarily due to habitat destruction. White-throated Sparrows (Zonotrichia albicollis) are a well-studied migratory songbird, but little is known about their roosting behaviors or how those behaviors are affected by sex, color morph, or weather. To determine this, we tracked White-throated Sparrows to their roosts, determined core home ranges, and analyzed the average distances of roost sites to the home range centroids according to these factors. …

The Impact Of Fiscal Science And Technology Expenditure On Digital Economy: A New Path To Economic Recovery In The Post-Pandemic Era, Yang Xu, Xiaodong Yang, Qiying Ran

Bulletin of Monetary Economics and Banking

In this study, a multi-dimensional digital economy evaluation index system is constructed to explore the impact of fiscal Science and Technology (S&T) expenditure on digital economy development in China. We reveal the following findings. First, we note that the China’s digital economy level as a whole is rising each year, which is less affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Second, we document that S&T expenditures positively stimulate digital economy development. Finally, we find that the promotion effect of S&T expenditure on the digital economy is statistically significant, and this promotion effect decreases from the southwest to the northeast due to the …

An Experimental Study Of Factors Influencing Gas Seepage In Confined Broken Anthracite, Li Zhen, Yu Yirui, Wang Hongwei, Feng Guorui, He Fulian, Wang Dezhang, Zhou Jinhui, Liu Luyan, Han Xinlei

Coal Geology & Exploration

The void structure evolution of broken coals in a caving zone directly affects the gas seepage characteristics of the zone, further influencing the gas migration and enrichment patterns in abandoned coal mine goaves. With the second generation of compaction-seepage-CT scanning experimental system for broken coals independently designed and developed, this study performed 162 sets of permeability experiments on broken anthracite samples with five particle size ranges under varying gas pressures, axial stresses, and void fractions. Key findings are as follows: (1) When gas migrated in broken anthracite, its pressure and flow rate kept dynamically changing until the adsorption equilibrium was …
