Barriers To Psychological Care: Lived Experiences Of Adults With Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Hovhannes Nazaryan Sep 2026

Barriers To Psychological Care: Lived Experiences Of Adults With Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Hovhannes Nazaryan

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

Adults with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) may experience significant disability-related stressors, yet mental health services remain underused within this population. Although prior research has identified barriers to service use among individuals with SMA and people with disabilities more broadly, there is less literature about how adults with SMA experience the mental health care system. The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study was to explore lived experiences of adults living in the United States with SMA as they relate to this system. Guided by the biopsychosocial model and Andersen’s behavioral model, the study involved addressing the question: What are lived experiences …

Sociodemographic And Geographic Factors Underlying Breast Cancer Survival Disparities Among Women In The United States, Colletta Brabham-Orr Sep 2026

Sociodemographic And Geographic Factors Underlying Breast Cancer Survival Disparities Among Women In The United States, Colletta Brabham-Orr

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

Breast cancer-specific mortality in the United States remains higher among women in rural and socioeconomically disadvantaged areas, yet few population-based studies have been conducted to jointly scrutinize demographic and structural determinants of this disparity. Informed by the social determinants of health framework, this secondary data analysis, using records from the SEER Research Plus database, examined the association between age at diagnosis, race and ethnicity, rural/urban residence, county-level median household income, and breast cancer-specific mortality among U.S. women aged 18 and older diagnosed with malignant invasive breast cancer between 2010 and 2020 (N = 285,865). Bivariate chi-square tests and binary logistic …

Temporary Cattle Identification: Benefits Of Marking With Hair Bleach, Melanie Heaton, Reganne K. Briggs, Rebekah Iverson, Brooke Holgate, David Secrist Sep 2026

Temporary Cattle Identification: Benefits Of Marking With Hair Bleach, Melanie Heaton, Reganne K. Briggs, Rebekah Iverson, Brooke Holgate, David Secrist

All Current Publications

Temporary identification is an important management tool for beef producers. Animals are routinely marked following breeding, pregnancy diagnosis, vaccination, treatment, sorting, shipping, and marketing so they can be quickly identified without repeated handling. Effective temporary identification improves labor efficiency, reduces animal stress, and helps ensure management decisions are applied to the correct animals. This fact sheet provides information on temporary cattle marking using hair bleach.

Aspen Health On Cedar Mountain: What Landowners Should Know, Justin Derose, Darren Mcavoy Sep 2026

Aspen Health On Cedar Mountain: What Landowners Should Know, Justin Derose, Darren Mcavoy

All Current Publications

Aspen forests are among the most valuable parts of the Cedar Mountain area in southwest Utah and of Utah's landscapes. They provide wildlife habitat, improve scenery, help slow wildfire spread, and support healthy watersheds and grazing lands. Cedar Mountain’s aspen forests are changing. The landscape still supports significant aspen acreage, but many stands are aging and losing mature trees faster than they are being replaced. Researchers studied the area to assess the health of the aspen forest over many years, beginning in 2008; this fact sheet discusses the results. It also provides management considerations.

Assignment 2: Debates On Freedom Media Analysis, Emily Campbell

Emily B. Campbell, Politics of Freedom

In the United States, political polarization has been growing for decades. Political belief and party affiliation now shape not just who people vote for, but who they count as friends, who they date, and where they choose to live. Some also note the growth in what is termed affective polarization—rooted in not just ideas but feeling, attachment, and emotions—leading to a sense of intractable division rather than unity. Looking at our news media landscape, we also find polarization in terms of which news sources people trust. A recent Pew Study showed Democrats favor CNN while Republicans favor Fox News, with …
