Gamification Of Physical Therapy To Promote Adherence, Katie Bennett Apr 2026

Gamification Of Physical Therapy To Promote Adherence, Katie Bennett

Symposium on Research and Creative Expression (SORCE)

Rehabilitation and physical therapy are essential components of recovery, yet patient adherence is often limited by low motivation and the repetitive nature of prescribed exercises. Similar challenges are observed in general fitness, where individuals are more likely to engage in physical activity when it is paired with goal-setting, feedback, and enjoyable experiences. Prior work, such as gamified fitness systems (e.g., Wii Fit), has demonstrated the potential of utilizing games to increase user engagement and consistency. In this work, the application of gamification principles to rehabilitation is examined by designing an interactive game that utilizes a balance board as an input …

Children Facing The Law: Addressing Narcotics Offenses Through Restorative Justice, Nashriana Nashriana, Desia R. Banjarani

Indonesia Law Review

In recent years, the increasing number of children involved in narcotics-related crimes in Indonesia has raised concerns about the effectiveness of the current juvenile justice system. While the Juvenile Criminal Justice System Law promotes the use of diversion and restorative justice, in practice, punitive measures such as imprisonment remain the dominant approach. This gap between normative ideals and legal reality highlights the need for reform. Drawing from comparative legal frameworks in countries such as the United States, Germany, and Spain, this study explores the potential of therapeutic treatment as a more humane and effective response to juvenile narcotics offenses. Therapeutic …

Cultural Perspectives On Work-Life Balance: A Literature Review Of Cultural Differences Relating To Work-Family Conflict And Occupational Well-Being, Emma Rosengartner

Honors Theses

The focus of this review is to explore four different cultural views on work-life balance (WLB) and work-family conflict (WFC). The terms WLB and WFC have become increasingly popular in the business world as people struggle to separate their home life and work life due to technology blurring the lines and women becoming an equal force in the workplace. When individuals experience high levels of WFC or do not have stable WLB, well-being is often negatively affected and work performance declines. This review explores literature on WLB and WFC in Japan, Mexico, Sweden, and the United States to make connections …

Human Dignity In The Foundational Political Documents Of The United States, Kalista Roades Apr 2026

Human Dignity In The Foundational Political Documents Of The United States, Kalista Roades

Honors Theses

Human dignity is integral to modern discussions of human rights and liberties, but this connection can be found stretching back through history to the early developments of human rights. This paper begins with modern philosophical definitions of human dignity, especially from Rosen and Kateb. Rosen discusses four “strands” of dignity- Intrinsic Dignity, Status Dignity, Manner Dignity, and Respect Dignity. This paper then uses that framework to find human dignity implicit within the founding documents of the United States including the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, as well as “Common Sense” and the Magna Carta to …

Capturing Nature As An Indirect Curing Strategy Of Salutogenic Architecture, Fasya Abelleia Ivanka, Rini Suryantini, Paramita Atmodiwirjo

ARSNET

This paper explores indirect curing as a spatial strategy for designing a restorative environment within the context of salutogenic architecture. Current healthcare practices support recovery mainly through direct medicinal approaches to cure ailments, with more focus on being sterile and creating isolation. The study argues that the process of indirect curing can also be implemented through architectural interventions by focusing on the integration of nature as restorative objects and healthcare settings that can aid the recovery process. This study qualitatively explores the capturing nature as an indirect curing strategy through examining four case studies of health care spaces. Based on …

Occupational Stressors And Health Impacts Among First Responders, Mason N. Roach

Honors College Theses

The United States 911 emergency response system is an interconnected web of public services that seeks to provide its community with care, resources, and safety in times of need. However, the impact of this support on the employees providing the service often goes unnoticed. This review identifies and analyzes the unique strains on first responders' physical and mental health using the Job Demand-Control Model and the Allostatic Load Model. A review of available research literature supports the conclusion that occupational-related stress, including trauma exposure, shift work, poor leadership, and inadequate communication, can have long-lasting negative impacts on provider health.

Social insurance is a basic support of development in society. It guarantees the citizen’s safety and psychological, social and economic stability through highly efficient and effective institutional performance that keeps up with social, economic and technical developments. It is worth noting that the insurance industry cannot develop in an environment where the insurance culture is absent among its members. Despite the great efforts made by the Public Authority for Social Insurance in spreading insurance awareness, the actual reality indicates that individuals have little knowledge of insurance. Therefore, this study aims to present a proposed program for the development of insurance …

Virtual Rape In Indonesian Criminal Law: Legal Reality Or Conceptual Challenge?, Moh. Raihan Rizaldi Sutran

Indonesia Law Review

Current technological developments have brought humanity into a new era called the metaverse, a virtual world that allows people to interact through digital avatars. However, this progress has also presented new problems, one of which is virtual rape – rape committed by players through their avatars. Even though there is no direct physical contact, victims can still experience real psychological effects such as trauma, anxiety, and fear. The main problem is there are no regulations in Indonesia that can address this phenomenon yet. Therefore, this article examines the extent to which the phenomenon of “virtual rape” can be considered equivalent …

From Dissent To Terrorism: The Formation Of A Security Grammar In Malaysia, Haezreena Begum Binti Abdul Hamid Dr Apr 2026

From Dissent To Terrorism: The Formation Of A Security Grammar In Malaysia, Haezreena Begum Binti Abdul Hamid Dr

Indonesia Law Review

The absence of a universally accepted definition of terrorism has enabled states to exercise wide discretion in naming, governing, and exceptionalising violence. This article argues that, in Malaysia, “terrorism” did not emerge as a neutral legal category but as the product of a historically evolving security grammar, a patterned way of interpreting ideology, dissent, and conflict through the lens of existential threat. Employing a qualitative doctrinal socio-legal methodology, the study integrates analysis of international and Malaysian legal frameworks with case-based examination of key episodes, including Memali, Al-Arqam, Al-Ma’unah, Lahad Datu, and ISIS-linked incidents. Statutes, judicial decisions, policy materials, and regional …
