Qualification Of 3d-Printed Titanium Volume-Optimized Propulsion Tanks For Small Satellites, Robert Fowler, Ryan Thibaudeau, Weston Allen, Twinkle Pandhi, Sid Raje, Matt Karesh, Stefka Petkova, Ryan Askew, Fernando Ferreira, Jake Schwartzman
Small Satellite Conference
The current state of the art for small satellite chemical propellant tanks is limited in design customization, is expensive, and is volumetrically inefficient within the cuboid volumes of small satellite buses. Space Dynamics Laboratory and Velo3D Inc. partnered to develop propulsion tank technology that solves these challenges using metal additive manufacturing (AM). We designed, analyzed, built, heat-treated, post-machined, precision cleaned, and qualification tested a titanium 6A14V volume-optimized 3D-printed propulsion tank with an integral printed propellant management device (PMD). They are rated for a maximum expected operating pressure of 400 psi. These tanks are 3D-printed in the desired cuboid mission geometries …

The first Delta launch vehicle to launch multiple secondary payloads was Δ-104. Carried, as the 2nd piggyback payload on that mission was an amateur radio Smallsat, AMSAT-OSCAR-7 (AO-7). The launch, on 15 November 1974, was to a 1460 km SSO. This spacecraft, as its name suggests, was the 7th in an on-going series of spacecraft operating in the Amateur Satellite Service. The amazing story associated with the mission of this small satellite is being reported elsewhere in these proceedings. While the particulars of this satellite's lifetime are exciting, we didn't particularly expect this "old bird's set of tricks …
Timothy Keller: Champion For The City: Keller's Philosophy Of Urban Contextualization, Michael W. Cunningham
Timothy Keller: Champion For The City: Keller's Philosophy Of Urban Contextualization, Michael W. Cunningham
Liberty Theological Review
Timothy Keller's 2023 passing serves as an occasion to consider his ministry legacy. His magnum opus, Center Church, encapsulated his philosophy of contextualization. This philosophy was rooted in a robust theology that informed and balanced missions, evangelism, and church planting. Keller's passion for city missions defied current ministry trends that favored suburbia and avoided urban contexts. His ministry conviction overcame cultural opposition and ministry bias and grew a thriving ministry in an unlikely ministry setting. Keller’s ministry captured the imagination of rising generations of pastors, missionaries, and ministry practitioners and provided the needed theological framework and training for successful …

Coherent Chiastic Oeuvre In The Unity Of Luke-Acts: Two Volumes Conjoined As A Single Book, John Matthew Powell
Coherent Chiastic Oeuvre In The Unity Of Luke-Acts: Two Volumes Conjoined As A Single Book, John Matthew Powell
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
A thorough examination of the life and works of Saint Luke has always been an interest and desire to survey, and because of his eruditeness, which produced two amazingly inspired books in the New Testament resulted in the reason behind this dissertation project. Another important thing for this research is animated from the perspective that Luke is the only gentile writer in the NT. It encourages the world that God placed gentiles on equal footing with Jews of the Old Testament era. Unlike the additional three inspired Gospel writers (i.e., Matthew, Mark, and John), Luke did not take it for …

This work formulates the hazard prediction problem while addressing the research question: Can machine learning create a model to automatically recognize patterns that correspond to hazard state conditions during a mission-critical operation? Supervised learning models were trained and tested on data observed from mission simulators, which allowed for safe observation of dynamic system states and undesirable casualty events. The prediction task was formulated as a binary classification problem, producing the probability of being in a hazard state at time t and providing situational awareness of a possible imminent loss. Several modeling architectures were investigated: neural networks, logistic regression, a support …
Creating And Implementing A Mentorship Ministry For New Believers, Moses Aleman
Creating And Implementing A Mentorship Ministry For New Believers, Moses Aleman
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
A major spiritual crisis exists in the Christian church due to the lack of care and attention given to new believers. Although many churches provide conversion opportunities, they may not prioritize discipleship and support for those who are new to the faith. Consequently, some new believers resign their faith when faced with difficulties, while others may struggle without crucial elements of their faith and doctrine, causing obstacles in their future spiritual journeys. This thesis project argues that having a New Believers Mentorship Ministry is vital and effective in addressing these issues. The project coordinator has three specific expectations for the …

Symposium of Student Scholars
"KWAD" or "KSU all-Weather Autonomous Drone" project was sponsored by Ultool, LLC to the KSU Research and Service Foundation to create a lightweight drone capable of capturing HD video during all-weather operations. The conditions of all-weather operation include rainfall of one inch per hour and wind speeds of up to twenty miles per hour. In addition, a global minimum structural safety factor of two is required to ensure the system's integrity in extreme weather conditions. Potential mission profiles include autonomous aerial delivery, topological mapping in high moisture areas, security surveillance, search and rescue operations, emergency transportation of medical supplies, and …

House Churches In The New Testament: Contextual, Theological, And Missiological Perspectives, Boubakar Sanou
House Churches In The New Testament: Contextual, Theological, And Missiological Perspectives, Boubakar Sanou
Journal of Adventist Mission Studies
For most of the first century, private dwellings shaped the Christians’ community life. Evidence to this phenomenon is found in the Acts of the Apostles and the letters of Paul. According to Acts 2:41, the Early Church numbered more than three thousand members after Pentecost. When the synagogues became off limits to them, meeting in private homes became a practical necessity for worship, fellowship, service, and mission (Acts 2:46; 5:42). In four of Paul’s epistles, he explicitly references private homes as the gathering places for early Christians (1 Cor 16:19; Rom 16:3-5; Col 4:15; Phil 2). The epistles are better …

The Spiritual Impact Of Female Pastoral Leadership On Members Of New Heritage Fellowship, Cheryl Russell
The Spiritual Impact Of Female Pastoral Leadership On Members Of New Heritage Fellowship, Cheryl Russell
DMin Project Theses
This April 2023 Doctor of Ministry project thesis at Lipscomb University examines how, today, many females are waiting for opportunities to serve in pastoral leadership, hoping to partner with local churches to help carry the story of God forward in a moment of great vulnerability for the church, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, very few churches are opening their doors to females for key leadership roles, upholding a long tradition of male-only leadership. This project explores the spiritual impact of egalitarian culture and female pastoral leadership on the members of New Heritage Fellowship. My hope is that …

Spiritual Formation Through Visual Art In The Churches Of Christ, Emily H. Bruff
Spiritual Formation Through Visual Art In The Churches Of Christ, Emily H. Bruff
DMin Project Theses
In the Protestant Church of Christ tradition, there is little to no use of visual art for spiritual formation. This doctorate of ministry project presents a qualitative study of the spiritually formative impact on Protestants, specifically in the Churches of Christ, when engaging with visual art in worship, either personal or corporate contexts. Over the course of one weekend in June, 2022 roughly thirty five people gathered from all over the United States at Otter Creek Church of Christ West End for a conference called Visio Divina. This conference provided a multitude of opportunities for engagement with visual art and …

Written Out : The Silencing Of Regina Gelana Twala, Joel Cabrita
Ohio University Press Open Access Books
Systemic racism and sexism caused one of South Africa’s most important writers to disappear from public consciousness. Is it possible to justly restore her historical presence?
Regina Gelana Twala, a Black South African woman who died in 1968 in Swaziland (now Eswatini), was an extraordinarily prolific writer of books, columns, articles, and letters. Yet today Twala’s name is largely unknown. Her literary achievements are forgotten. Her books are unpublished. Her letters languish in the dusty study of a deceased South African academic. Her articles are buried in discontinued publications.
Joel Cabrita asserts that Twala’s posthumous obscurity has not developed accidentally …

Creating A Culture Shift In The Tracy Seventh-Day Adventist Church To Attract Millennials And Generation Z, Tyler Kraft
Creating A Culture Shift In The Tracy Seventh-Day Adventist Church To Attract Millennials And Generation Z, Tyler Kraft
Doctor of Ministry Projects
Problem
The Tracy Seventh-day Adventist Church is facing a shortage of committed leaders and volunteers. Most of the current ones have been serving for several decades and they desire to train and mentor potential replacements, but there are not enough people from the younger generations to take up the mantle. The demographics of the church do not represent the demographics of the community; older adults are overrepresented and younger adults are underrepresented. The church needs more youth and young adults to relieve the older members, or else the church's existence could be in jeopardy.

Full Issue: Fall 2022
DePaul Magazine
In the fall 2022 issue of DePaul Magazine, we share how DePaul President Robert L. Manuel is inspiring and invigorating the university community. As Manuel says in our cover story, DePaul is uniquely situated to use its Catholic, Vincentian mission to address the most pressing questions facing our society today. We also look at service, including university initiatives to reach out to underserved and displaced populations, as well as programs that pair DePaul students with industry and community clients, giving students valuable experience and connections.
