Paper Session Ii-A - Space Station Assured Crew Return Vehicle (Acrv) System And Operational Considerations, George F. Fraser
Space Congress® Proceedings
The Space Station currently is being designed to maximize crew safety through fault tolerance, safehaven provisions, and crew delivery and return using the Space Transportation System (STS). Studies have identified the need for assured crew return capability through a space-based "lifeboat" that is always available for use in contingencies encompassing (1) medical emergencies, (2) Space Station failures, and (3) interruption of STS services. This paper reviews major mission, operational, and system requirements and the process for evaluating a range of practical vehicle and operational options. It describes flight and ground system design concepts and the major trade studies being performed …

The Charitable Behavior Of San Francisco Bay Area Physicians, Anne M. Bubnic
The Charitable Behavior Of San Francisco Bay Area Physicians, Anne M. Bubnic
Institute for Nonprofit Organization Management
As the highest-paid professionals in our society, physicians represent a unique and interesting segment of the American population. Surprisingly little information is available on the actual charitable interests and giving patterns of medical practitioners, but then few studies have been done on populations of wealthy individuals. Knowledge of physicians' charitable behavior is limited to their provision of medical care without remuneration, but no relationships have been developed between these activities and other charitable practices.
A mail survey of 1,451 physicians in the San Francisco Bay Area was conducted during the months of September- October, 1986 to gather information on the …
An Approach To A Holistic Ministry In A Seventh-Day Adventist Urban Church In Uganda, Nathaniel Mumbere Walemba
An Approach To A Holistic Ministry In A Seventh-Day Adventist Urban Church In Uganda, Nathaniel Mumbere Walemba
Doctor of Ministry Projects
Problem. The SDA church in Uganda started in rural areas among rural people. But the situation has changed. Although the majority of the church membership nationwide is still rural, a large percentage is now urban in the real sense of the word. Furthermore, as in any developing country, Ugandan urbanites have many needs which can be met only by a holistic approach to ministry. This study is undertaken to make a contribution toward achieving that …
