The Merdeka Curriculum, introduced as a new educational initiative in Indonesia, faces several challenges identified in recent studies. This study employed a literature analysis method to evaluate data from relevant articles published between 2021 and 2023. The findings highlight several major issues in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. First, inadequate educational infrastructure, including a shortage of suitable classrooms and limited access to technology, remains a significant challenge. Second, strengthening teachers’ capacity to integrate technology into instruction is crucial because the Merdeka Curriculum relies heavily on technology-based approaches. Effective learning assessment is also a key concern and requires a holistic, process-oriented approach. …

Discovery Learning is a problem-based instructional method that provides students with opportunities to actively explore and learn new concepts, including operator types in programming. In digital learning, Instagram offers interactive features that have potential for use in this method. This study aimed to develop presentation materials integrating the Discovery Learning model for programming operators with assessment delivered through Instagram filters. A research and development method using the ADDIE model—analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation—was employed. The resulting interactive presentation covered basic concepts and the implementation of logical operators in programming and incorporated quiz-based assessments through Instagram filters. The filters enabled …

Developing high-quality human resources through education requires various efforts, including providing a safe and comfortable learning environment in which students can develop their talents, potential, and knowledge. Creating a sense of safety and comfort in learning is not solely the responsibility of schools, but also of families and communities. This study used a literature review method. The findings reveal several challenges in creating a safe and comfortable learning environment, including the assumption that schools are the only parties responsible for establishing such an environment, the perception that a safe learning environment refers only to physical conditions, and limited resources. This study aimed to determine students’ level of interest in science during the second semester at SMP Negeri 5 Malang in the 2023/2024 academic year. A mixed quantitative and qualitative approach was used, with questionnaires and checklists as data collection instruments. Before implementation of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model, only four students (12.9%) demonstrated interest in science, while 24 students (77.4%) showed low interest and three students (9.6%) showed no interest. After Jigsaw was implemented, students’ interest increased significantly, as indicated by a t-test significance value below 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). The findings indicate that Jigsaw is effective in increasing students’ interest in science. It may therefore serve as an alternative for addressing low learning interest while improving the quality of classroom instruction. The Jigsaw model can create a more interactive and collaborative classroom atmosphere, positively influence student engagement, and strengthen both learning outcomes and overall educational quality.

A Qualitative Analysis Of How Just Stop Oil Protests Are Framed In The Uk Online News Media, Holly Handy
The Plymouth Student Scientist
Previous research has found that when the news media reports on demonstrations, protest groups can be subject to delegitimising coverage. This body of research can be subsumed under Chan & Lee’s “protest paradigm” and is believed to consist of a set of narrative frames that journalists default to in the coverage of protests. Recent research demonstrates how the use of these framing devices may be in decline and advocates for a more integrated approach to protest coverage. However, there is little research that uses analytic frameworks specifically theorised to explore media framing. This study uses Giles and Shaw’s media framing …

Implementing Vertical Gardens In Educational Buildings To Reduce Energy Consumption And Achieve Low Carbon Emissions, Khloud Khalid Eldamshiry, Mohamed Esmat Elattar, Ahmed Abubakr
Architectural Engineering
Nowadays, the change of climate has been a crucial problem for architects to address since buildings consume more than half of the energy that results in carbon dioxide emissions that contribute to climate change. Vertical gardens have been proven in studies to be capable of significantly offsetting carbon dioxide emissions from building. in addition to passively cooling and insulating the structure As a result, the energy required for building operation is lowered in what appears to be a butterfly effect. The bulk of non-residential buildings in Egypt have been built without regard for energy efficiency regulations in recent years. As …

Women writers have always contributed to literary development, but their works and thoughts have been structurally forgotten and erased. We conducted this research to unearth women writers' lives, works, and thoughts, which continue to be ignored in literary studies. We use feminist qualitative method and literature review technique to study literary initiatives from women writers in the past such as women-only periodicals. This research uses Virginia Woolf's thoughts as an analytical tool, and our findings show that the women-only space initiative was a response to the mainstream literary ecosystem's lack of support for women writers in various eras and countries. …

Umi Matsuzaki’S Representation Of War Trauma: A Semiotic Approach To Studio Ghibli’S From Up On Poppy Hill, Wedhowerti Wedhowerti
Bahasa dan Seni: Jurnal Bahasa, Sastra, Seni, dan Pengajarannya
Japanese films that explore war trauma are relatively rare, and this research departs from that gap by analyzing Studio Ghibli’s From Up on Poppy Hill. The film reflects the conscience of Japanese society by depicting the realities of post-war life in the 1960s. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this study examines how the main character, Umi Matsuzaki, represents war trauma through eight selected scenes and how such trauma encodes myth. By applying Roland Barthes’ semiotic theory, the findings reveal that Umi embodies symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), manifested primarily through avoidance and intrusion. Her trauma is deeply rooted …

Comparison Of Javanese Lexicon In Banyumas And Banyuwangi Dialect Bilingual Dictionaries, Muhamad Rizki Darmawan, Satwiko Budiono
Bahasa dan Seni: Jurnal Bahasa, Sastra, Seni, dan Pengajarannya
The Banyumas and Banyuwangi dialects of Javanese exhibit notable lexical similarities, particularly in their retention of Old Javanese vocabulary, consonant endings, the specificity of vowel phonemes, and syllabic structures. These linguistic commonalities necessitate further research at other linguistic levels to substantiate the similarities between these two geographically distant dialects. This comparison also serves as a basis for reinforcing the hypothesis of a historical migration of Javanese speakers from Banyumas to Banyuwangi. Furthermore, this study confirms that the varieties of Javanese spoken in Banyumas and Banyuwangi constitute distinct dialects. This study employs a mixed-methods approach, integrating both quantitative and qualitative methodologies …
