Glacial Isostatic Adjustments And Their Impact On Sea-Level Predictions, Dayne M. Williams, Jeanne Sumrall
SACAD: Scholarly Activities
Relative sea level adjustments and their effects directly contribute to modern day climate change and ocean knowledge. This is shown through Glacial isostatic adjustment models which depend on ice thickness, time period, and core analyzations within a local region. These models demonstrate a direct correlation between RSL, era of retreat, and ice thickness even with comparison of other similar models, with some minor discrepancies. These discoveries led to several new advancements within the field of glaciology regionally and nationally. Generally concluding that the research done isn’t sufficient and more data regionally is needed to study its impacts more detailed.

Alterity And Kinship: Co-Writing Posthumanist Speculative Nonfiction With Ai, Jeffrey Bardzell, Maliheh Ghajargar
Engineering Faculty Articles and Research
As a response to the climate crisis, scholarly literature has introduced new theoretical perspectives, such as posthumanism, which seek to reimagine the relationships between humans and nonhuman others, including environments, animals, and plants. Reimagining these relationships depends in large part on our ability to engage nonhumans in their otherness, or alterity, but doing so is challenging. Responding to calls throughout posthuman literature for experimental new modes of imaginative encounter with nonhumans, and inspired by speculative traditions from literature to design, we devise a methodology involving “creative experiments” aimed at disrupting, decentering, and disorienting the human-centered thinking that interferes with humans’ …

In this study, a nanocomposite was prepared using a solution casting technique. The polymer electrolyte blend was formed by combining 0.6 mg of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) and 0.4 mg of polystyrene (PS). Subsequently, silicon carbide (SiC) nanoparticles were incorporated into the polymer matrix at varying and precisely measured concentrations. The composite was thoroughly mixed to ensure homogeneity, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy spectral analysis confirmed the absence of chemical interactions between the SiC nanoparticles and the polymer components, indicating a physically stable mixture. The above can be reflected in the synthesized compound with new properties, such as semiconductors or semi-insulators. …

USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
The rapidly growing interest in data-driven modeling and fractional-order systems highlights a keychallenge in modern science and engineering: capturing long-memory effects and nonlinear behaviors in real-world dynamical processes. Conventional integer-order methods, while powerful, often overlook the history-dependent nature of many phenomena—ranging from viscoelastic materials to anomalous diffusion and hereditary feedback systems. This dissertation addresses that gap by blending fractional calculus with cutting-edge machine learning to create robust, memory-aware modeling and control frameworks.
Beginning with an extension of Dynamic Mode Decomposition (DMD) to fractional-order systems, we introduce Fractional Dynamic Mode Decomposition (F-DMD) as a data-driven tool that leverages Mittag- Leffler functions …
