Quality Improvement Project The Impact Of Targeted Education And Training On The Use Of Rapid Mood Screener Tool On The Rate Of Mood Disorders Detection Among Psychiatric Providers, Oluwatobi Adeleke

Doctor of Nursing Practice Projects

Optimal mood disorder (MD) management outcomes are associated with accurate and timely diagnosis. Yet, MD misdiagnosis, particularly Bipolar I, is an unfortunately common problem. Rapid assessment or screening tools offer effective diagnostic assessment interventions for faster diagnosis without compromising effectiveness. Still, their administration is constrained by providers’ knowledge and competence limitations. The Rapid Mood Screener (RMS) is a rapid screener for MDs, including Bipolar I, with well-established specificity, accuracy, and reliability. Provider training and education on RMS implementation can be effective in addressing the challenges providers encounter in the tool’s administration. Here, through a pre-post quasi-experimental design, this quality improvement …

Controlled-Airflow Sensor Enclosure (Case) Design Document, Catryn N. Cattoor Aug 2025

Controlled-Airflow Sensor Enclosure (Case) Design Document, Catryn N. Cattoor

Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science Independent Study

The purpose of this document is to organize the theory, industry practices, and research related to designing a device that pulls air through a pipe, containing an environmental sensor, at a rate controlled by a computer fan. Using such a device to regulate the airflow over a sensor can improve the accuracy of field readings, as sensors are often unintentionally sensitive to multiple external conditions. Changes in wind direction and speed or heating due to solar radiation, for example, can cause errors in gas concentration and temperature readings, warranting the need to correct for these factors without decoupling these sensors …

Work Extracting And Second Law-Like Inequalities From Non-Extensive Small Systems With Feedback, Mehdi Mirzaee, Saman Amiri Aug 2025

Work Extracting And Second Law-Like Inequalities From Non-Extensive Small Systems With Feedback, Mehdi Mirzaee, Saman Amiri

Turkish Journal of Physics

The Gibbs-Boltzmann entropy effectively characterizes systems with a significant reliance on initial conditions. Nonetheless, the majority of materials generally exhibit behavior that is independent of their initial conditions. Conversely, Tsallis entropy—a nonextensive entropy that underpins nonextensive statistical mechanics—provides a comprehensive framework for modeling systems that engage with their environment. In this study, we derive the Tsallis formulation of the Clausius inequality in a quantum context and establish an upper limit for the work that can be extracted from a small system within the framework of nonextensive quantum statistical mechanics. Furthermore, by utilizing a principle from quantum information theory—which posits that …

Predicting The Gravitational Lensing Magnification Of Quasars By The Roman Space Telescope, Esmeralda Guliqani, Lindita Hamolli, Mimoza Hafizi

Turkish Journal of Physics

In strong gravitational lensed quasars, the magnification of an image is significant for constraining various lens models. We predict the magnification of the lensed images in the case of double lensed quasars that are expected to be observed by the Roman Space Telescope. Using Monte Carlo simulations, we generate quasar-galaxy systems based on the mass-luminosity function of galaxies and the redshift distribution of both galaxies and quasars taken from observations. Utilizing the capabilities of the Roman Telescope, we calculate for the double lensed quasars their angular positions and their magnifications. We considered two models for the lensing galaxy: the singular …

Computational Investigation Of The Structural And Electronic Effects Of Phenyl, Alkyl, And Halogen Fully Substituted Acenes, Emily A A Jarvis, Viraj Jain, Georgia Grace Tully, Peter W. Jarvis

Chemistry and Biochemistry Faculty Works

Acenes are a class of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons that may hold promise as organic semiconductors (OSCs) in solar cells and electronic devices. Their instability and poor solubility present challenges that may be improved by replacing the hydrogens with phenyl, halogen or alkyl substituents to sterically induce a helical twist to these otherwise planar molecules. This twisted structure also impacts the optical properties of these molecules. We employ time-dependent density functional theory (TD DFT) to investigate acenes spanning from naphthalene to heptacene. We focus on the structural and electronic effects of fully substituting these molecular backbones to create seven distinct substituent …

Despite achieving strong correlations with human scoring, modern AES systems face resistance due to validity concerns and misalignment with pedagogical values, revealing an "adoption paradox" where technical sophistication often …

Under The Sea And Into The Future With Darwin, Verne, & Wells: Evolutionary Ideas In Early Science Fiction Literature And Atomic Age Adaptations, Suzette K. Forston Aug 2025

Under The Sea And Into The Future With Darwin, Verne, & Wells: Evolutionary Ideas In Early Science Fiction Literature And Atomic Age Adaptations, Suzette K. Forston

Theses and Dissertations

In the latter half of the nineteenth century, Charles Darwin's theories challenged traditional ways of thinking about the world so dramatically that his writings inspired the formation of a new genre: science fiction. Two pioneering authors, Jules Verne and H. G. Wells drew from Darwin's writings in their classic novels, 20,000 Leagues Under the Seas (1870) and The Time Machine (1895). Though the two authors are often compared because they were both early science fiction authors, they approached Darwinian theory in different ways. Verne uses a more extrapolative approach and focusing on specific details of Darwin's texts to tell a …

Quantified Possibility Neutrosophic Soft Set Based Decision Support System For Enhanced Accuracy In Sustainable Supplier Selection Decision Analysis, Neha Andaleeb Khalid, Muhammad Saeed Aug 2025

Quantified Possibility Neutrosophic Soft Set Based Decision Support System For Enhanced Accuracy In Sustainable Supplier Selection Decision Analysis, Neha Andaleeb Khalid, Muhammad Saeed

Neutrosophic Systems with Applications

To deal with the concepts of vulnerability, ambiguity, and indeterminacy that are typical in complex decision analysis contexts, neutrosophic set-like structures are frequently used. Although neutrosophic sets are particularly good at handling indeterminate circumstances, indeterminacy plays a part in making the decision making process imprecise and ambiguous. This paper develops a more advanced technique to improve the accuracy of decision analysis problems: the Quantified Possibility Neutrosophic Soft Set Decision Support System (Qt PNSSDSS). In order to reduce the element of indeterminacy present in conventional neutrosophic sets, the proposed DSS is based on the Quantified Neutrosophic Set, which employs a …

Digital Trading Platform Selection Under Neutrosophic Numbers And Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Methodology: An Illustrative Example, Eman Sayed, Karam M. Sallam, Ibrahim Alrashdi Aug 2025

Digital Trading Platform Selection Under Neutrosophic Numbers And Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Methodology: An Illustrative Example, Eman Sayed, Karam M. Sallam, Ibrahim Alrashdi

Neutrosophic Systems with Applications

Uncertainty, vagueness, and incomplete information are pervasive in real-world decision-making scenarios, particularly in multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) contexts involving expert judgments. To address these challenges, this study introduces a comprehensive decision-making framework that integrates Triangular Neutrosophic Numbers (TNNs) with the Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment (WASPAS) method. The framework begins by capturing expert evaluations using TNNs, which effectively represent the degrees of truth, indeterminacy, and falsity inherent in subjective assessments. These evaluations are then transformed into crisp values using a novel score function that preserves the embedded uncertainty. The resulting decision matrices are aggregated into a unified structure to ensure consistency …

Implications Of Mexican Hat-Like Band Structure On Thermoelectric Properties, Muhammad Hilal, Oğuz Gülseren Aug 2025

Implications Of Mexican Hat-Like Band Structure On Thermoelectric Properties, Muhammad Hilal, Oğuz Gülseren

Turkish Journal of Physics

Electronic band structure of low dimensional materials significantly impacts their thermoelectric performance. A Mexican hat-like band structure, characterized by a ring-shaped extremum in momentum space, offers distinct advantages due to its singularity in the density of states at the band edge and its ability to enhance energy-dependent transport. This work investigates a two-dimensional tight-binding model hamiltonian that incorporates both nearest-neighbor (t1) and next-nearest-neighbor (t2) hopping. The ratio of the hopping amplitudes, ξ = t2/t1, serves as a tunable parameter that modulates the shape and depth of the Mexican hat dispersion. We use an analytical expression for the energy band of …

Optomechanical Dynamics: Exploring Membrane Effects On Cavity Mode Frequencies, Mahmut Can Özuygur Aug 2025

Optomechanical Dynamics: Exploring Membrane Effects On Cavity Mode Frequencies, Mahmut Can Özuygur

Turkish Journal of Physics

Optomechanics is an emerging research topic that explores the mechanical effects of light. In this paper, we present an analytical study of the mode frequency perturbation in a three-dimensional Fabry Pérot cavity containing a partially transparent membrane. Our analysis reveals that the maximum effect of the membrane occurs when it is placed at an antinode, where the field is at its maximum. The effect is minimized when the membrane is placed at a node, where the field is at a minimum, corroborating earlier one dimensional ”dielectric bump model” calculations. In contrast to previous models, we consider the membrane’s f inite …

Unpredictable phenomena such as cloud coverage pose a challenge for conventional Earth observation. Long lead times can cause conditions to change between forecasting, scheduling, and image capture, leading to suboptimal observations. To combat this, dynamic tasking has been proposed as a mission concept, where perception and autonomy are moved onboard the spacecraft in order to quickly respond to changes in the spacecraft’s imaging schedule, leveraging the compute power available in modern Earth-observing spacecraft. In this work, we explore the use of a wide field-of-view body-fixed lookahead sensor, separate from the main imaging payload, to evaluate the real-time utility of upcoming …
