Isaiah Thorriton Montgomery His Life And Work, Sister Mary Of Victory Ssf

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

This thesis, submitted to Xavier University in partial fulfillment of requirements for a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1933, presents a biographical and historical study of Isaiah Thornton Montgomery (1847–1924), the founder of Mound Bayou, Mississippi, the most prominent all-Black town in the United States. Montgomery, an educated slave on the Davis plantation in Mississippi, through his founding of Mound Bayou in 1887 on a 30,000-acre land grant secured from the Louisville, New Orleans, and Texas Railway. An Analysis Of The Social Philosophies Of Brigham Young And John Calvin: With Special Reference To Their Similarities As They Were Expressed Through The Utah And Geneva Theocracies, Wesley P. Lloyd

A Course Of Study In History Of The Wausau Schools In Third, Fourth, Fifth And Sixth Grades, Gertrude Mcguine

Bachelors’ Theses

The purpose of this thesis is to assemble a workable course of study to be used in the teaching of social studies in the intermediate grades of the schools of Wausau. At present, only a limited amount of time may be given to the teaching of the social studies, exclusive of Geography, which is treated separately. Hence a carefully worked out plan is absolutely necessary if we are to obtain the results for which we hope.
