Online transportation activities contribute to the increasing volume of vehicles, particularly GrabCar drivers in Malang City, which has the potential to worsen traffic congestion. Identification results showed that GrabCar drivers experienced drowsiness while driving and work fatigue due to the habit of working at night and for more than eight hours per day, accompanied by limited understanding related to defensive driving. This study aimed to determine the effect of work fatigue and knowledge, as well as differences in sleep quality scores, on defensive driving behavior. This study employed an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach involving 87 GrabCar drivers …
The Process Of Alcohol-Involved Sexual Assault Disclosure: Examining Disclosure Content And Reactions From Informal Supports, Madison Elle Edwards
The Process Of Alcohol-Involved Sexual Assault Disclosure: Examining Disclosure Content And Reactions From Informal Supports, Madison Elle Edwards
Dissertations and Doctoral Documents, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, 2023–
Alcohol-involved sexual violence (SV), in which unwanted sexual contact is attempted or obtained without consent during or after the victim’s alcohol use is a major public health issue among young women. Research consistently shows that alcohol-involved SV can have particularly harmful mental and physical health consequences. Moreover, survivors who were drinking are more likely to receive negative reactions (e.g., blame, minimization) when they disclose their SV experiences to informal supports (e.g., friends, family). These negative reactions are consistently linked to negative psychosocial outcomes. However, little research on negative disclosure reactions has examined the content of survivors’ disclosures. The present study …

Maternal Mental Health: What Utahns Need To Know, Brie Sparks, Susan R. Madsen
Marketing and Strategy Faculty Publications
Pregnancy and the transition to motherhood are often portrayed as joyful and fulfilling experiences, yet many women face significant emotional and psychological challenges. Maternal mental health conditions, including depression and anxiety, are among the most common complications of pregnancy and the postpartum period. Despite growing awareness, stigma, screening gaps, and limited access to care persist. In Utah, where rates are similar to or higher than national averages, expanding screening and resources will create a clearer path to better support mothers and families.

Integration Of Adaptive Kalman Filter And Bayesian Models For Diagnostics And Reliability Assessment Of Vision Sensors, Rustam Tulkunovich Khamdamov, Marjona Jasubek Qizi Xoliqova
Chemical Technology, Control and Management
Vision-based sensors constitute a cornerstone of contemporary automation, robotics, and intelligent transportation systems, where their reliability directly determines operational safety and efficiency. Conventional Kalman filtering achieves optimal state estimation under linear dynamics and stationary noise assumptions, yet its performance deteriorates in the presence of sensor malfunctions or nonstationary environments. This study proposes an innovative framework that couples an adaptive Kalman filter with Bayesian inference to strengthen diagnostic capabilities and reliability evaluation of vision sensors. The Kalman filter provides dynamic state tracking, while Bayesian reasoning enables probabilistic fault identification and reliability quantification. The methodological novelty lies in the real-time adjustment of …

As global aquaculture expands, sustainable alternative feed ingredients are needed to reduce reliance on fishmeal (FM) and conventional plant proteins. Herein, this study evaluated defatted black soldier fly (BSF; Hermetia illucens) larvae meal as a replacement mainly for soybean meal (SBM) and soy protein concentrate (SPC) in juvenile mirror carp diets. Fish (initial weight: 7.28 ± 0.09 g) were reared in a recirculating aquaculture system and fed for 8 weeks on either a control diet or diets containing 20% (BSF20) or 40% (BSF40) BSF meal. After the trial, growth performance was significantly improved in BSF-fed groups, with higher final weight, …

COVID-19 is a highly contagious disease transmitted primarily through human contact. Therefore, understanding population mobility is essential for predicting COVID-19 case trends. In this paper, we propose a novel deep learning approach for forecasting new COVID-19 cases using a neural architecture called Neural Basis Expansion Analysis for Interpretable Time Series (N-BEATS). The N-BEATS model effectively handles long input sequences and large output horizons without information loss or increased computational complexity. We compare the performance of N-BEATS with a state-of-the-art benchmark model, LSTM-Markov, across four major countries: the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, and Brazil. Three distinct COVID-19 datasets from …

Cervical Insufficiency Revisited: A Proposal For A New Treatment-Aligned Definition, Vincenzo Berghella, Ilaria Paladino, Moti Gulersen, Rupsa Boelig, Amanda Roman
Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Faculty Papers
Cervical insufficiency [CI] has traditionally been defined as painless cervical dilation resulting in recurrent second-trimester pregnancy loss in the absence of labor or placental pathology. Definitions from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists emphasize historical clinical presentation. However, contemporary obstetrics relies increasingly on ultrasound-based cervical length surveillance and evidence-based cerclage indications rather than retrospective diagnosis. The objective of the review was to propose a definition of cervical insufficiency aligned with current evidence-based indications for mechanical prevention of preterm birth, i.e. cervical cerclage. In modern obstetric practice, the operational diagnosis of clinically …

Trimming of the three glucose residues decorating nascent N-glycoproteins is a critical step for their entry into the endoplasmic reticulum quality control (ERQC) and recognition by ER chaperones. However, the functional relevance of the second glucose (G2) and the regulatory step upstream of its removal by glucosidase II (GCS2) remain poorly understood. Here, we report that TUSC3, a component of the oligosaccharyltransferase (OST) complex, regulates G2 to G1 trimming on N-glycosylated bone morphogenetic protein 4 (BMP4) and its Drosophila homolog Dpp to promote their ERQC entry. Loss- and gain-of-function genetic experiments and biochemical assays in mammalian cells and flies indicate …

Background: Despite the widespread adoption of chemoimmunotherapy in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), the mechanisms by which cytotoxic chemotherapy engages antitumor immunity remain poorly defined. Identifying tumor-intrinsic immunogenic programs that predict and enhance responsiveness to immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) is therefore of critical clinical importance.
Methods: Transcriptomic signatures of TREX1 deficiency were generated from CRISPR-engineered TNBC models and applied to multiple independent TNBC cohorts treated with chemoimmunotherapy. Cytosolic single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) accumulation was quantified using a flow cytometry-based assay to functionally screen chemotherapeutic agents. Immune activation and therapeutic efficacy were evaluated using in vitro assays, syngeneic mouse tumor models, flow cytometry, …

Childhood experiences of economic disadvantage have harmful and long-lasting effects on child health. Early intervention can reduce some harms but it is unclear whether addressing economic disadvantage alongside psychosocial support yields additional benefits. This systematic scoping review aimed to identify evaluated programmes that integrate parenting support (PS) and financial well-being support (FWbS) for parents of children aged 0–19. The objectives were to describe programmes, relevant components, evaluation designs and impact on outcomes, and to consider if any programmes merit replication and testing in a UK context. Outcome or implementation evaluations of integrated PS and FWbS programmes published in English were …

The Effect Of Strength Training On The Development Of Selected Core Muscles And Arm Strength In Young Boxers Aged 17–18 Years, Abbas Tawfeeq Mansoor
Modern Sport
This study aimed to investigate the effect of strength training on the development of selected core muscles and arm strength in young boxers. Boxers utilize maximum and fastest arm punches and core movements to achieve optimal performance against their opponents in bouts. Despite the importance of these elements, variations in specific strength levels are observed among young boxers aged 17–18 years. The problem lies in the fact that traditional training may not adequately or specifically focus on the "selected core muscles" that support dynamic balance during a fight, or on the link between core strength development and increased arm strength …
A New Prescription: Arkansas Law On Pharmacy Benefit Managers, Emilee Webb
A New Prescription: Arkansas Law On Pharmacy Benefit Managers, Emilee Webb
Arkansas Law Review
Seven thousand pharmacies have closed throughout the United States since 2019. This number includes both local pharmacies and larger chains. The effect of both types of closures, though, is the same—pharmacy deserts. A pharmacy desert can occur in all types of areas; it simply means that consumers lack “reasonable access” to a pharmacy. The usual standard is a pharmacy located more than one mile away in urban areas, two miles away in suburban areas, and ten miles away in rural areas. However, an objective mile range is not always dispositive of a pharmacy desert. Even if a pharmacy is located …

New Playbook: How The Modern College Sports Legal Landscape Shapes The Women Athlete Experience And Future, Hannah Martin
UNH Sports Law Review
This Article examines how the emergence of Name, Image, and Likeness (“NIL”) rights and the approval of the House settlement have transformed the experience and future of women college athletes. For the first time in modern college athletics, athletes are permitted to profit from their personal brands through endorsements, sponsorships, social media promotions, and institutional revenue-sharing opportunities. These developments have created unprecedented visibility and economic opportunity for women athletes, particularly in sports such as basketball, gymnastics, and volleyball, where athletes have demonstrated significant commercial value and audience engagement. At the same time, the rapid commercialization of college sports has introduced …
Doing Away With The Ncaa’S Duration Of Eligibility Rules, Michael Lewis
Doing Away With The Ncaa’S Duration Of Eligibility Rules, Michael Lewis
UNH Sports Law Review
The NCAA imposes durational eligibility limits restricting a student athlete’s eligibility to compete in college sports. Under NCAA rules, an athlete is granted four-seasons of competition in any single sport and no more than five-years of eligibility commencing at matriculation. These rules have come under increasing scrutiny in federal court, as the law acknowledges commercial realities. In numerous cases, federal district courts have enjoined their enforcement against Division I football players under the Sherman Act. On the eve of the Final Four, 2026, the White House weighed in, expressing support for durational limits, and arguing (without support) that imposing limits …
Immigration Law Meets College Athlete Pay: How U.S. Immigration Law Excludes International College Athletes From The Compensation Revolution, Jeff Justiz
UNH Sports Law Review
When the House v. NCAA settlement authorized up to $20.5 million in annual direct revenue-sharing payments to college athletes, it resolved one century-old injustice and quietly created another. For the approximately 15,000 international student-athletes competing on F-1 visas, the same payments that enrich their domestic teammates may constitute unauthorized employment under federal immigration law, threatening deportation and visa revocation. This Note argues that the House settlement has exposed a structural collision between NCAA compensation policy and F-1 immigration doctrine that existing visa categories – the P-1A, the O-1, and various permanent-residency pathways – are individually incapable of resolving. Using Poa …

Digitalization Of Medicine Through Telemedicine: The Legal Framework And Medical Liability, Samira Krourou
Revue Marocaine de Droit, d'Economie et de Gestion (Moroccan Journal of Law, Economics and Management)
This study examines telemedicine as a modern medical practice linked to the technological and informational advancements that humanity has witnessed and that have been positively integrated into the medical field. It has become possible to examine and treat patients without requiring their physical presence in a clinic or hospital, unlike the traditional approach, that necessitates the patient's presence and direct contact with their physician. Contemporary medical practice is no longer confined to examination and prescription alone; it has expanded to encompass more complex domains, notably enabling remote surgical interventions. In light of technological progress in medicine, it has become necessary …

Gafam And Competition Law: The Premises Of Regulation, El Mahdi Taimouri
Revue Marocaine de Droit, d'Economie et de Gestion (Moroccan Journal of Law, Economics and Management)
GAFAM are among those structural digital platforms whose ultra-dominant position in digital markets and the originality of their practices raise unprecedented competition issues. Their spontaneous tendency toward concentration results from the implementation of innovative business models based on massive data capture and exploitation through high-performance algorithms. The specificities inherent in these web giants raise questions about the ability of classical competition law rules to ensure efficient regulation. Indeed, competitive regulation of these platforms raises essential challenges and proves indispensable, even if the effective realization of such an undertaking appears laborious.

Gender Perspective(S): Lessons From International Human Rights Law To Defend Against Pregnancy Related Prosecutions, Megan Osadzinski
Northwestern Journal of Human Rights
The criminalization of pregnancy outcomes—such as miscarriages, abortion, obstetric emergencies, and stillbirth—is a violation of fundamental human rights guarantees; including the right to a fair trial when read in conjunction with the right to equality and the right to health. This article outlines state obligations under international human rights law toward women charged in pregnancy prosecutions, translating them into national criminal defense strategies using a gender perspective. Using intersectional theory, this article calls for the use of a gender perspective to challenge such prosecutions as unlawful gender-based discrimination and a gendered violation of due process, using the case study of …

The freedom of thought, conscience, and religion is a fundamental human right enshrined in Article 18 of The Universal Declaration on Human Rights (UDHR). However, religious minorities in South Asia are often deprived of this fundamental right. Muslims in India, Ahmadiyyas, Hindus, and Christians in Pakistan, and Hindus in Bangladesh face challenges including educational marginalization, economic and political marginalization, and social stigma in the society. The Note presents a comparative analysis of the freedom of thought, conscience, and religion across the three most populous countries in South Asia–India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh–that also share a long cultural, linguistic, and religious history. …

INTRODUCTION: The transition from resident to junior faculty in academic emergency medicine (EM) may be shaped not only by formal training and institutional policies but also by the "unwritten curriculum," a set of norms and expectations embedded in institutional culture. However, the unwritten curriculum and its potential to impact junior faculty development remains largely unexplored. Little is known about how junior faculty perceive, experience, and navigate these informal expectations, or the formal and informal structures that influence this process. In this study we aimed to explore junior faculty members' experiences with the unwritten curriculum in academic EM, with a focus …
