Adults under the age of 70 in Sub-Saharan Africa face a higher probability of death from non-communicable diseases than adults of the same age in the Established Market Economies. A team from Andrews university in collaboration with the health unit of the Northeast Tanzania Conference (NETC), collaboratively conducted a community needs assessment and on lifestyle diseases in Kihurio village in December 2017 and found that over half of the attendee had hypertension. This study explored narratives of Venezuelan migrants in Trinidad during and post COVID-19 lockdown. Key themes of “gratitude” and “resilience” emerged despite exploitation and discrimination migrants faced in a foreign land. “Dark Ethnography” concept is applied to understand migrants’ lived experiences and the church’s role in integrating to new environment.

This research explores the material recycling methods used by the aerospace industry, particularly in comparison to the reusability of aerospace materials and with the objective to find uses for recycled materials from aircraft. Through an analysis of various other material mitigation methods, it is apparent that the physical degradation of materials after they go through recycling processes and the cost of recycling are the most prominent issues holding the aerospace industry back from being able to recycle aircraft up to 100%. This study investigates integrating solar desalination systems with seawater-based firefighting networks as a sustainable solution for coastal cities facing freshwater scarcity. This study evaluates technical feasibility, economic impact, and operational performance by comparing conventional seawater firefighting infrastructure with systems utilizing desalinated water produced via solar energy. The methodology includes a detailed component and cost analysis of both systems, supported by experimental pump performance tests using varying salt concentrations and seawater. Results indicate that desalinated water systems offer significant economic savings—approximately 48.82%—due to reduced corrosion, lower maintenance demands, and improved pump efficiency. The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for fast, non-invasive, and cost-effective diagnostic tools. Cough sounds, as a prominent symptom of respiratory diseases, present a promising modality for automated COVID-19 detection. In this study, we propose a novel multi-modal deep learning framework for COVID-19 detection that leverages cough sounds and patient-specific medical information. Our approach extracts two types of acoustic features—Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCCs) and Mel spectrograms—and integrates them with clinical metadata to improve diagnostic ac-curacy. Gasoline is the primary source of energy in combustion engines, despite some drawbacks, such as knocking inside the engine, incomplete combustion, and the production of high emissions. The main trend has been toward the use of chemical additives as improvers, including oxidizing additives and aromatic hydrocarbon compounds. Both additives have an effect on the combustion process. The aim of the study was to conduct research to determine the possibility of predicting the approximate fatty acid composition of blends based on the iodine number. The fatty acid composition was determined by the chromatographic method and the results were subsequently used to identify the composition of blends by determining the iodine number. The iodine number was determined by calculation and titrimetric methods, comparing the differences between the obtained values. To overcome the global climate change crisis, the Government of Indonesia (GoI) ratified the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Paris Agreement on Climate Change on 22 April 2016, imposing quasi-legal obligations on contracting states to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions based on Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) until 2030. As a contracting party of the Paris Agreement, Indonesia has submitted an Enhanced Nationally Determined Contribution (ENDC), increasing its GHG emission reduction target from 31.98 percent to 43.20 percent by 2030. The regenerative movement is gaining momentum worldwide, driven by communities working to restore ecological and social systems through place-based, culturally rooted action. Yet many of the groups leading this work, especially in the Global South or in hyper-local contexts, remain digitally invisible due to structural barriers, including limited access to appropriate technology, funding constraints, and misalignment between available tools and local values. Young adults aged 18-25 have the highest prevalence of mental health issues compared to adults over age 25. Mental health outcomes during emerging adulthood may be linked to early childhood variables, such as attachment, grounded in early caregiving, and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) (Hughes et al., 2017; Waters & Roisman, 2019). Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) has one of the lowest 5-year survival rates of all cancers, and limited treatment options exist. Immunotherapy is effective in some cancer types, but the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) of PDAC is a barrier to effective immunotherapy. CXCR2+ myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) are abundant in PDAC tumors in humans and in mouse models. MDSCs suppress effector cell function, making them attractive targets for restoring anti-tumor immunity. Understanding the interactions between plant-host-parasitoid plays a major role in insect pest management. Farmers in the southeastern United States rely on pasture systems for cattle milk and beef production, but the benefits of parasitoids and predators on major lepidopteran pests on pasture lands are still overlooked. Here, we aimed to identify and quantify the effect of parasitism on the true armyworm Mythimna unipuncta (Haworth, 1809) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) attacking teff grass Eragrostis tef (Zucc.)
