[Objective ] This study aims to investigate the in vitro antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities of Yunnan tea flower extract (TFE ) and its Inhibitory effect on cell aging.[Method ] The main active components in TFE were determined by ultraviolet (UV)-visible spectrophotometry and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC ).The antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities of TFE were determined by the free radical scavenging assay and UV-induced photoaging model of human keratinocytes (HaCaT ),respectively.After the aging model of fibroblasts was established,the aging level of cells was assessed by the β-galactosidase (β-gal) staining assay,and the expression of matrix metalloproteinase- 1 (MMP- 1),matrix metalloproteinase- 3 …

[Objective ] This study aims to evaluate the potential health risks to consumers from exposure to multiple mycotoxins in grains.[Method ] Point and probabilistic assessment models were adopted to analyze the dietary exposure risks of adult residents in Shanghai to aflatoxins (AFs),ochratoxin A (OTA ),zearalenone (ZEN ),deoxynivalenols (DONs ),and fumonisins (FBs) through consumption of rice,maize,soybeans,and wheat flour.[Result ] The margin of exposure values (MoE ) for AFs in maize and aflatoxin G 1 (AFG 1) in soybeans exceeded 10 000,indicating no dietary exposure risk.In contrast,AFs in rice and wheat flour,as well as aflatoxin B 1 (AFB 1),aflatoxin B 2 (AFB …

[Objective ] This study aims to comprehensively investigate the risk of veterinary drug residues in black bone chicken.[Method ] A method for rapid and simultaneous analysis of 39 veterinary drugs and their metabolites in three categories was established based on low-temperature ultrasonic extraction,solid-phase extraction pretreatment,and ultra performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS ).The samples were extracted by Mcllvaine-Na 2EDTA and phosphate buffer via ultrasonic treatment at low temperatures,purified by Oasis HLB solid-phase extraction column,separated by T 3 chromatographic column,and quantified by the matrix matching external standard method.[Result ] The 39 veterinary drugs and their metabolites showed good linear relationships in …

This study explores a comparative analysis of Germany and Indonesia in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, emphasizing the importance of addressing cross-cultural dimensions in global health crises—a field that remains underexplored. By enhancing preparedness for future emergencies, the research critically examines whether theoretical assumptions developed in Global North contexts can be meaningfully extended to Global South settings. Specifically, this study hypothesizes that political predispositions, media use, and media evaluation are associated with policy malaise, and investigates these associations in light of cross-cultural differences. Many research studies have focused on voice disorders in occupational voice users (i.e., teachers, singers, coaches). However, there is limited research on voice disorders in cheerleaders. Therefore, this study investigated the presence of dysphonia in division I collegiate sideline cheerleaders before and after the 2023 football season. Participants included twenty-six collegiate sideline cheerleaders at a division I university. Participants completed a demographic survey and the Voice Handicap Index (VHI). In addition, their modal, high, and low pitch frequencies were measured, and voices were assessed using the Consensual Auditory-Perceptual Evaluation of Voice. Centering And Shaping Abilities Of Three Different Cross-Section Rotary Systems In Curved Canals Using Cbct, Sherif Shafik

ABSTRACT The aim of the study was to examine the centering and shaping abilities of the E3 Azure, T Blue and XPRS rotary devices in severely curved root canals utilizing CBCT. 51 mesial roots were used in this study, then distributed into three groups of 17 mesial canals each according to the instrumentation technique: T-Blue, E3 Azure and XPS. The final apical size of instrumentation was 30/0.04 for all groups. At 2 mm, all pairwise comparisons were statistically significant, with Azure showing the highest transportation, followed by T-Blue, and XPS showing the least (p< 0.001). At 4 mm and 6 mm, Azure and T-Blue showed significantly higher transportation than XPS (p< 0.001). For XP-Shaper files, centering ratios followed a descending order from 6 mm to 4 mm and were lowest at 2 mm, with all pairwise comparisons being statistically significant (p< 0.001). it was concluded that XPS show lesser transportation and better centering ability.

Social determinants of health (SDOH) are the conditions in which people live, work, and play, and the wider set of factors (e.g., social and economic systems and policies) that shape a person’s daily life. SDOH can differ significantly across communities and populations, having positive impacts for some and negative impacts for others. Ultimately, this results in differences in health and disease distribution, that are known as health disparities. Climate change and biodiversity loss require us to engage the next generation of scientists in addressing global ecological issues. Introducing undergraduate students to citizen science allows them to learn scientific processes and content while contributing to real-world applications. We conducted a systematic review of literature to (1) identify what types of undergraduate courses and institutions use citizen science, (2) list the projects and platforms that have been implemented in online courses in undergraduate education, (3) examine how students participated in the projects through online courses, and (4) summarize learning objectives and reported benefits of student participation. Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is an inherited neurocutaneous condition that predisposes to the development of peripheral nerve sheath tumors (PNST) including cutaneous neurofibromas (CNF), plexiform neurofibromas (PNF), atypical neurofibromatous neoplasms of uncertain biologic potential (ANNUBP), and malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNST). The Johns Hopkins NF1 biospecimen repository promotes the successful advancement of therapeutic developments for NF1-associated PNST through acquisition and genomic analysis of human tumor specimens. RNA sequencing (RNAseq) and whole exome sequencing (WES) data were generated from 73 and 114 primary human tumor samples, respectively. Alarm fatigue has been a consistent problem nurses have experienced for decades. The effects of excessive nuisance alarms leads to adverse effects such as desensitization, missed alarms, frustration, and increased risk to patient safety. Other research has provided explanations on alarm fatigue causes and developed solutions for reducing nuisance alarms or minimizing effects, but few have examined the problem from a sociotechnical systems perspective. The purpose of this scholarly project was to implement the use of daily text message reminders to promote PrEP medication regimen adherence, thereby reducing the risk of HIV acquisition in an at-risk population. Patient interviews and surveys were also conducted to obtain valuable information regarding barriers and facilitators to PrEP regimen adherence.

Culturally responsive supervision has been shown to be beneficial to supervisees (Adams et al., 2023). A research gap exists in culturally responsive clinical supervision through the lens of supervisees’ experiences; as a result, supervisors are ill-equipped to offer culturally responsive clinical supervision. The purpose of this narrative inquiry study was to explore supervisees’ culturally responsive experiences in clinical supervision. Objectives: This study aimed to identify the baseline demographic characteristics, clinical profile and cardiovascular risk factors of newly registered diabetic patients in Muscat Governorate, Oman, in 2022. Methods: This cross-sectional study included newly registered diabetic patients attending all primary care centres in Muscat Governorate in 2022. Data regarding sociodemographic characteristics and clinical and laboratory parameters were collected from the national diabetic registry and Al-Shifa health information system. This dissertation examines everyday experiences of a North Korean refugee woman in the U.S., centering her narratives as sites of critique, resistance, and meaning-making. Grounded in Critical Refugee Studies, Asian American Studies, and Critical Intercultural Communication and framed by intersectionality, it explores how interlocking structures of power shape and are shaped by her life. Air pollution from industrial emissions and wildfire smoke poses growing threats to public health. This dissertation employs geospatial data science to examine these challenges through three interrelated studies. The first study investigates the relationship between maternal residential exposure to industrial pollutants and low birth weight, identifying five chemicals as significant risk factors. The second study assesses the impact of industrial air pollution on lung and bronchus cancer survival, finding that exposure to 1,1,1-trichloroethane and cobalt is associated with reduced survival. This qualitative phenomenological case study is focused on the engagement of Hispanic children between 18 and 36 months of age and their parents in a family literacy program. Participation in a family literacy program was associated with changes in the cognitive, social, and emotional development of children, as well as the self-efficacy of their parents in parenting skills. Grounded in the social theories of Vygotsky, Bandura, and Bronfenbrenner, this study relates the importance of language acquisition, literacy skills, and self-efficacy to a community setting where conversation is encouraged and reading engagement is modeled.
