BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Intimate partner violence (IPV) and child physical abuse often co-occur, but the frequency and risk factors for abusive injuries in IPV-exposed children remain unknown. Our objectives were to (1) determine frequency of skeletal surveys (SSs) and neuroimaging use because of IPV and their diagnostic value in children aged less than 24 months evaluated by a child abuse pediatrics specialist (CAP) and (2) identify factors associated with performance of and findings on SS and neuroimaging.
METHODS: We conducted a retrospective study of children aged less than 24 months undergoing CAP consultations because of IPV exposure from February 2021 …

The Role Of Perceived Academic And Peer Support In Mitigating Imposter Syndrome Among Adhd Students, Eden Morley Dr
The Role Of Perceived Academic And Peer Support In Mitigating Imposter Syndrome Among Adhd Students, Eden Morley Dr
Journal of Science Education for Students with Disabilities
Background: Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in higher education is associated with significant executive functioning deficits and performance inconsistencies. These challenges, alongside heightened rejection sensitivity, may predispose students to the Imposter Phenomenon (IP)—the persistent belief that one’s success is undeserved. While social and academic supports are known to buffer psychological distress, their specific role in mitigating IP within the ADHD student population remains under-researched.
Objectives: This study investigated the severity of IP among undergraduate students with ADHD and examined the protective roles of Perceived Social Support (PSS) and Perceived Academic Support (PAS), while exploring gender as a potential moderator.
Methodology: A cross-sectional …

A Comparative Expression Analysis Of Selected Genes Involved In Secondary Metabolites Biosynthesis Among Three Alfalfa Cultivars Grown In Iraq, Izdehar Yahia Obaid, Bushra M. J. Alwash
Al-Bahir
Because of its abundance in proteins, vital amino acids, vitamins, and minerals that promote balanced nutrition, Medicago sativa L., also known as alfalfa, is regarded as a nutritionally excellent forage crop. In addition to its nutritional value, alfalfa produces a range of bioactive secondary metabolites, including flavonoids, alkaloids, and phenolic acids, further supporting its use in medicinal and nutritional applications. Three alfalfa cultivars grown in Iraq were examined for gene expression levels of the primary genes involved in secondary metabolite biosynthesis (PAL, COMT, CHS, and OMT). Among these cultivars are Victoria (VC), Green Gold (GC), and a local cultivar (LC). …
Bahamian Human Resource Practitioners' Perceptions Of Public Service Performance, Lanisha Tamar Rolle
Bahamian Human Resource Practitioners' Perceptions Of Public Service Performance, Lanisha Tamar Rolle
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Strong, capable public service systems are essential to meeting society's needs, and perceptions of public-service performance indicate how people ultimately respond to and value public sector systems and performance. While the literature documented the perspectives of public service employees and citizens, and found that they generally believed that public service was inefficient and ineffective due to excessive bureaucracy, autocratic leadership, and political influence, little was known about the perspectives of other stakeholders who participate in or are affected by the public service performance process. The purpose of this generic qualitative study was to bridge the knowledge gap by gathering Bahamian …

Characterizing Mosquito Species To Understand Disease Ecology Of Gyrfalcons In Nome, Alaska, Zosha Kocemba, Annastasia Waters, Michael Henderson, Kara Beer, Travis Booms, Carly Tolle, Anna Grimstein, Stephanie J. Galla
Idaho Conference on Undergraduate Research
Climate change in the Arctic is accelerating more rapidly than the rest of the globe, changing the disease ecology within arctic systems. A prime example of this are disease carrying mosquitoes (Family: Culicidae) expanding their range and overlapping with different animal hosts. To better ascertain the changing disease ecology in the Arctic, methods to identify disease vectors—like mosquitoes—are needed to understand how this complex and shifting vector and host network will impact immunologically naive Arctic Gyrfalcons (Falco rusticolus). This ongoing study aims to identify mosquitoes collected from Gyrfalcon nests in Nome, Alaska to species level and to test …

Health Disparities, Early Intervention, And Neurodevelopmental Outcomes In Preterm Infants, Samantha Dora Pescatore
ETD Collection
Preterm infants are at a higher risk for a variety of health complications due to their underdeveloped organ systems and neurological systems. While the survival of preterm infants has greatly improved due to the advances of modern medicine, these infants are at increased risk for neurodevelopmental delays when compared to full term infants due to risk factors that accompany preterm birth, such as low birth weight, brain immaturity, nutritional challenges, and more (Behrman & Butler., 2007; Chung et al., 2020; Rubens et al., 2014; Song, I. G., 2022;). Research suggests that early intervention services can influence the development, health, education, …

Climate Anxiety And Nurses’ Awareness, Motivation, And Behaviors In Addressing Climate-Related Health Risks, Sarah Kaplan
Climate Anxiety And Nurses’ Awareness, Motivation, And Behaviors In Addressing Climate-Related Health Risks, Sarah Kaplan
Theses and Dissertations
Background: Climate anxiety, the emotional distress associated with awareness of climate change and its consequences, is an emerging mental health concern that may influence how nurses perceive and respond to climate-related health risks. Climate change is largely driven by emissions of greenhouse gases which radiate and absorb heat. Human-caused climate change is leading to higher average global temperatures and increasing risk to health through poor air quality, changes in vector borne diseases, extreme weather events, and exacerbation and development of physical and mental illnesses. This study contributes to nursing science by examining climate anxiety and climate related health practices among …

Dietary Stability Of The Eurasian Beaver Revealed By Hair Stable Isotopes, Linas Balčiauskas, Rasa Vaitkevičiūtė Koklevičienė, Andrius Garbaras, Inga Garbarienė, Laima Balčiauskienė
Turkish Journal of Zoology
The Eurasian beaver (Castor fiber) is a keystone ecosystem engineer whose expanding populations increasingly occupy agricultural landscapes. Hair stable isotope analysis was applied to reconstruct assimilated diet in 56 legally hunted beavers in Lithuania in 2024–2025. Stable carbon isotope values were tightly clustered (–25.53 ± 0.10‰ SE), while those for nitrogen showed greater variability (5.38 ± 0.20‰ SE), indicating limited interindividual dietary differentiation. Generalized linear models revealed no significant effects of sex, year, or month, and age-related differences were limited to the youngest individuals. Comparison with published Polish data showed no significant differences in mean isotope values. Overall, the results …

The Perceived Professional Impact Of Exposure To Stress Experienced By Mental Health Therapists During The Covid-19 Pandemic, Bianca J. Reaves
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
COVID-19 changed the methods in which therapy was traditionally delivered. Mental health therapists switched from in-person to virtual sessions during the pandemic. There was a gap in research related to stress levels of mental health therapists in the telehealth field. Adaptations were made by mental health therapists to provide services and as a result virtual platforms were used to connect with the community served. This qualitative research study was an exploration of mental health therapists perceived responses to stress or burnout in relation to a global pandemic. The theoretical foundation used to assess perceived stress is the Stress Theory. The …
Palatal Expansion Using The Invisalign Palatal Expander, Hassan Chihab
Palatal Expansion Using The Invisalign Palatal Expander, Hassan Chihab
ETDs from 2020-2029
Palatal expansion has been used in orthodontics to treat a narrow maxilla and to primarily correct posterior dental crossbites. In younger patients, palatal expansion can readily be achieved through opening of the mid-palatal suture, as it is not fused at that age. As the mid-palatal suture matures, expansion will gradually be difficult to achieve, and more dental expansion is obtained rather than skeletal. In addition, there is a tendency to get more dental tipping. Palatal expansion has been recommended not only to correct crossbites but also to improve breathing in patients with sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). …
