Impact Of Information Security Awareness Training On Knowledge, Attitude, And Behavior: A K-12 Case Study, Michael S. Robbins, Christopher Robbins
Journal of Cybersecurity Education, Research and Practice
Abstract— Information security breaches remain a serious threat across all sectors, often exploiting human factors rather than technical flaws. This study examines how a structured Information Security Awareness (ISA) training program influences employees’ knowledge of security policies, attitudes towards those policies, and self-reported security behaviors within a K-12 educational environment. A quantitative pre-test/post-test design was employed with 201 staff members (administrators, teachers, and support personnel) in a public school district. Participants completed the Human Aspects of Information Security Questionnaire (HAIS-Q) before and after undergoing an interactive cybersecurity training program. Statistical analysis revealed a significant improvement in information security knowledge, attitudes, …

Stable Mesoporous Nanocomposites Of Iminocyclohexanones Coordinated With Ca Montmorillonite, Omyma Abd Allah, Abdelhamid Elshater
Turkish Journal of Chemistry
Organomontmorillonite (organo-MMT) nanocomposites are widely used in environmental, food, and pharmaceutical applications. However, their weak adsorption and ionic exchange forces during synthesis can make them unstable and unreliable. In this study, we present a novel synthesis of stable mesoporous iminocyclohexanone-Ca-MMT nanocomposites through a green, rapid, one-pot reaction. The synthesis reaction between Ca-MMT clay suspended in water and a dioxane solution of 1,3-cyclohexanedione and 4-aminophenol at 2 temperatures (60 °C and 110 °C) completed in a short reaction time. The resulting nanocomposites were characterized using X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance UV–visible spectroscopy, and advanced software tools. Surface …

Submission: Inquiry Into The Thriving Kids Initiative, Australian Council For Educational Research (Acer)
Shaping educational policy
This submission to the Inquiry into the Thriving Kids initiative advocates for an evidence-based, inclusive approach to supporting children up to eight years with developmental delay, disability and autism within mainstream early childhood and school settings. It recommends embedding foundational supports within a Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework that integrates universal, targeted and intensive interventions according to children's needs rather than diagnosis. The submission highlights the importance of workforce capability, collaborative practice, effective leadership, high-quality assessment and screening tools, and embedded allied health support. Adequately resourcing MTSS implementation will strengthen inclusion, early intervention and educational outcomes for all children.

Levothyroxine Combined With Selenium Nanoparticles In One Liposomal Delivery System For Hypothyroidism, Eylül Atan, Güli̇z Ak
Turkish Journal of Chemistry
Levothyroxine, as a thyroid-stimulating hormone, is the primary drug used for hypothyroidism treatment, but it has poor bioavailability. Selenium (Se) plays an important role in regulating thyroid function; moreover, selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs) offer advantages over other Se forms. Liposomal delivery systems, especially those coated with polyethylene glycol (PEG), can increase the oral bioavailability of drugs and provide controlled release. In our research, as described in this paper, we aimed to develop an orally applicable liposomal delivery system to achieve enhanced treatment of hypothyroidism with SeNP characteristics, controlled levothyroxine release, and improved bioavailability of both drug and SeNPs. The SeNPs have …

Multisource Information Fusion Method For Human Gait Perception, Guiliang Chen, Guowei Liu, Yongchao Li, Chao Cai, Zihao Li, Dong Yang
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: In response to the insufficient gait perception capability during lower limb exoskeleton assistance, a human lower limb gait phase optimization classification model was proposed. A wireless transmission gait information collection system was designed for collecting the required gait phase feature information. Human joint angles were accurately calculated by fusing acceleration and angular velocity information using extended Kalman filtering. Additionally, kernel principal component analysis was applied to reduce dimensionality in conjunction with plantar pressure data. The LSSVM algorithm was employed to classify gait data, and the PSO algorithm was utilized to find the optimal classification parameters. Experimental results demonstrate that …
Relative Stare Decisis, Andrew Coan
Relative Stare Decisis, Andrew Coan
Utah Law Review
Stare decisis stands at a crossroads. The Supreme Court has recently overturned landmark precedents on abortion rights, affirmative action, and administrative deference, while signaling its willingness to reconsider other long-settled doctrines. Amid this tumult, one principle appears to command broad consensus: Stare decisis carries heightened force in statutory cases, where Congress can override the Court’s decisions through ordinary legislation, and less force in constitutional cases, where override can only be accomplished through the onerous Article V amendment process. Yet this doctrine of “relative stare decisis” rests on remarkably fragile foundations. The principal justifications offered by its adherents are underdeveloped or …
The Unavoidable Consequences Of Homelessness, Sara K. Rankin, Laura Riley
The Unavoidable Consequences Of Homelessness, Sara K. Rankin, Laura Riley
Utah Law Review
The U.S. Supreme Court’s recent Grants Pass v. Johnson decision sounded the death knell for Eighth Amendment protections for people experiencing homelessness. The decision not only overruled key Ninth Circuit decisions, but also severely cabined the Court’s own precedent, allowing cities across the country to jail and fine people for doing nothing other than surviving in public space when they have no reasonable alternative. The Eighth Amendment’s prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment is a powerful symbol of America’s aspiration to realize the dignity and humanity of all its people, especially those who are marginalized and vulnerable to systemic discrimination …
An Ugly Common Ancestor: Dred Scott, Roe And Enumerationism, David S. Schwartz
An Ugly Common Ancestor: Dred Scott, Roe And Enumerationism, David S. Schwartz
Utah Law Review
The Dred Scott case holds a deserved place in the constitutional “anticanon” of Supreme Court decisions that exemplify rejected constitutional views. But the complex history of the case, the convolution of the opinion by Chief Justice Roger Taney, and the complicated relationship between its two primary holdings have generated multiple, often conflicting arguments about its negative “lessons.” Such arguments—particularly that of Robert Bork arguing that Dred Scott is the “very ugly common ancestor” of Lochner v. New York and Roe v. Wade—have masked an important element of the Taney opinion: its central reliance on “enumerationism,” the doctrine of limited enumerated …

Association Between Fall Risk And Orthostatic Hypotension In The Elderly In A Skilled Nursing Facility, Pramod Srikant Kshirasagar
Association Between Fall Risk And Orthostatic Hypotension In The Elderly In A Skilled Nursing Facility, Pramod Srikant Kshirasagar
Doctorate in Kinesiology
Background: Orthostatic hypotension (OH) is an underrecognized contributor to falls among older adults, particularly in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) where frailty, multimorbidity, and polypharmacy is common. Methods: Thirty-three SNF residents aged ≥65 years completed orthostatic testing after five minutes supine and at one and three minutes of standing. Fall and injury histories were extracted from records and resident reports. Analyses included nonparametric tests, logistic regression, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis, and exploratory qualitative coding of injury descriptions. Results: Systolic and diastolic blood pressures decreased significantly from supine to standing (both p < .001). OH was more prevalent among fallers than non-fallers (96% vs 40%; χ2(1) = 12.68, p = .007). In logistic regression with OH as the outcome, fall history was strongly associated with OH (OR = 27.0, 95% CI [3.67–198.69], p = .001); ROC analysis showed excellent discrimination (AUC = 0.84, p = .029). The most frequently coded injuries were hip and femur fractures, followed by skin tears, head injuries, and humeral fractures (exploratory). Conclusions: OH is strongly linked to falls among SNF residents. Serial measurements at 1 and 3 minutes improved detection, supporting routine OH screening in fall risk assessment and proactive interventions (e.g., medication review, activity scheduling, and environmental safety).
Navigating New Technology: A Phenomenological Study Into Technology Coaches’ Experiences During Ai Expansion In Schools, Elizabeth K. Wrzesinski
Navigating New Technology: A Phenomenological Study Into Technology Coaches’ Experiences During Ai Expansion In Schools, Elizabeth K. Wrzesinski
LSU Doctoral Dissertations
Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly influencing instructional practices in K–12 education, yet most states have not issued clear, binding policies to guide its integration. As a result, local school systems and support staff must interpret emerging guidance and determine how AI should be used in classrooms. This study examined how system-level technology coaches in the Deep South experience and support AI adoption in contexts where state guidance is advisory rather than mandatory. This qualitative phenomenological study used questionnaires and semi-structured interviews with technology coaches, and a content analysis of AI-related state and local policy guidance. Participants included technology coaches who …

Genetic Influences For Distinct Impulsivity Domains Are Differentially Associated With Early Substance Use Initiation: Results From The Abcd Study, Ethan Kinstler, Aaron J Gorelik, Sarah E Paul, Adamya Aggarwal, Emma C Johnson, Melissa A Cyders, Arpana Agrawal, Ryan Bogdan, Alex P Miller
2020-Current year OA Pubs
BACKGROUND: Impulsivity is among the strongest correlates of substance involvement (i.e. a broad continuum of substance-related behaviors), and distinct domains (e.g. sensation seeking [SS] and urgency) are differentially correlated, phenotypically and genetically, with unique substance involvement stages. Examining whether polygenic influences for distinct impulsivity domains are differentially predictive of early substance use initiation - a major risk factor for later problematic use - may improve our understanding of the role of impulsivity in addiction etiology.
METHODS: Data collected from participants of genetically inferred European ancestry enrolled in the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development Study
RESULTS: SS-PGS was significantly associated with any …
