Digital Morality And National Values: Pancasila As An Ethical Compass For Technology-Enhanced Counseling In Indonesia, Dominikus David Biondi Situmorang, Hendrik Tuaputimain, Muqaffi Muqaffi, M. Solehuddin
Buletin Konseling Inovatif
The very fast development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR) in the last decade have changed the way of mental health practice internationally, including Indonesia. Although these technologies extend reach, deepen therapeutic engagement, and facilitate clinical analysis, they also present serious ethical challenges with respect to privacy, algorithmic bias, depersonalization, and disparity. This integrative review draws on literature from counseling, digital ethics, immersive technologies, and Indonesian philosophical studies to consider how Pancasila can serve as a culturally situated ethical guide for technology-mediated counseling. The results disclose four overarching themes: shifting role of …

Interpretable Linear Models For Heart Disease Prediction: A Comparative Study, Dipok Deb, Emran Hossain
Data Science and Data Mining
Heart disease remains a leading cause of mortality worldwide, underscoring the importance of accurate and transparent methods for early diagnosis. While many machine learning and artificial intelligence models have demonstrated strong predictive performance, their limited interpretability poses challenges for clinical adoption. In this study, we evaluate three interpretable linear classification models—Generalized Linear Model (GLM) logistic regression, L1-regularized (Lasso) logistic regression, and Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA)—for heart disease prediction using the Cleveland Heart Disease dataset. Following comprehensive data preprocessing, the models are assessed on a held-out test set using standard evaluation metrics, including accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and the area under …
Orchestrating Agent Failover Using A Relationship Tree With Defined Dependency Types, Gaurav Sangamnerkar, Himesh Mukherjee
Orchestrating Agent Failover Using A Relationship Tree With Defined Dependency Types, Gaurav Sangamnerkar, Himesh Mukherjee
Defensive Publications Series
In distributed computing environments with multiple interacting agents, interdependencies can contribute to localized agent failures escalating into system-wide outages, as some protocols may not adequately define dependency-based failover strategies. A control plane framework can manage such interdependencies by employing an agent relationship tree (ART). The ART can be a data structure that maps the relationships between agents and annotates each with a dependency type, for example, solid for dependencies designated as strongrelationship or fluid for those with lower importance. An agent orchestrator can monitor agent health and, upon detecting a failure, can consult the ART to initiate a context-aware recovery …

Framework For Situated Agents Using Tool-Based Perception And Interaction In A Continuous Cognitive Loop, Valentyn Shybanov
Defensive Publications Series
Agentic systems that operate in a transactional or stateless mode can be limited in their ability to perform sustained, multi-step tasks within dynamic digital environments. Such systems may exhibit brittleness, where tool execution failures may lead to a process halting rather than initiating an adaptive recovery. The disclosed technology describes a framework for autonomous agents centered on a continuous perception-cognition-interaction loop. Within this framework, an agent can utilize programmatic tools as sensory inputs to perceive the state of a digital environment and as actuators to effect change, while a cognition layer can process these perceptions to formulate actions. This cyclical …

Faculty Publications
Purpose: Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a heterogeneous disease with patient-specific variability and vessel-specific remodeling, which eventually lead to right ventricular (RV) failure. The gold standard for RV assessment—pressure–volume (PV) loop acquisition—is invasive and limited to specialized settings. This study aims to develop a patient-specific lumped-parameter model that quantifies vessel-specific remodeling and simulates RV PV loops across PH phenotypes using routine clinical data.
Methods: A lumped-parameter model was calibrated using right heart catheterization and echocardiography data. Model agreement was assessed by R2 values for pressure and flow goodness-of-fit, and model-derived hemodynamic metrics were comparedwith clinical values. A dimensionality reduction approach was …

Self-Efficacy Switch List, Yoshihiko Ariizumi
Self-Efficacy Switch List, Yoshihiko Ariizumi
Learning, Teaching, & Researching Optimization
The Self-Efficacy Switch List is a practical checklist for building real confidence by noticing small actions, not by demanding perfect results. Each week, you focus on just 2–3 switches—such as taking small steps, restarting after failure, using social support, caring for your body, and simplifying your environment—while reflecting on what felt easier or heavier. Over time, these small, repeatable practices turn effort into momentum, strengthen your belief that “I can do this,” and help you keep going even when progress feels slow.

ABSTRACT There remains a substantial need for awareness about mental health and effective counselling within Muslim immigrant communities. Previous research has found higher levels of stress, depression, and anxiety amongst Muslim immigrants; however, limited research has focused on the manner in which acculturative stress and religiosity influence psychological well-being, particularly when also considering generational differences. Therefore, using a sample composed of 369 first and second-generation South Asian Muslim immigrants, the following study examined the effects of acculturative stress on depression and life satisfaction, as well the moderating influence of religiosity and generational differences. As hypothesized, acculturative stress was significantly negatively …

From The Ashes Of Silence: How Transgenerational Trauma And Adaptive Communication Styles Affect The Ability Of Grandchildren Of Holocaust Survivors To Cope With Antisemitism, Diana Ariel Harman
ETD Collection
The Holocaust was a shocking atrocity that killed six million Jews (Bauman, 2003). The literal translation of The Holocaust is: “from the ashes” (Stein, 2014). This definition describes the experience of a Holocaust survivor having to build themselves up from the ashes of destruction. Throughout the past 70 years, researchers have tried to answer the question of whether traumatic events can be passed down to those who have never experienced them (Kellerman, 2024). Although there have been many ways of defining this transmission of trauma from historical, collective, intergenerational, and transgenerational trauma, one approach is to examine the longterm effects …
