Clinical Practice Guideline For Universal Anxiety Screening For Advanced Practice Providers, Kelechi Blanton Feb 2026

Clinical Practice Guideline For Universal Anxiety Screening For Advanced Practice Providers, Kelechi Blanton

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

This project was a clinical practice guideline (CPG) focused on anxiety screening in a primary care setting using the Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD-7) screening tool. The practice problem addressed general anxiety disorder and the need for standardized assessments for risk, as recently been recommended by the U.S. Prevention Service Task Force (USPSTF). Anxiety disorder is common but frequently untreated, due in part to low rates of screening. Lack of an evidence-based guideline for anxiety screening may contribute to delayed diagnosis and inconsistencies. The practice-focused question was, Does the evidence support development of an evidence-based CPG for universal anxiety screening in …

Experiences Of Loneliness And Belonging Among U.S.-Born Women During The Covid-19 Pandemic In Germany, Anna Sizorina

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

Existing literature indicates that the COVID-19 pandemic led to increased levels of loneliness, particularly among individuals with transnational ties. Travel and entry bans, along with social distancing, led to separation from family abroad and from people and communities in the countries of new residence. In this qualitative phenomenological study, experiences of loneliness and belonging among U.S.-born women during the COVID-19 Pandemic in Germany were explored. The transaction theory of stress guided the scientific enquiry, and the evolutionary theory of loneliness served as a conceptual framework for examining loneliness in the given context. Six adult female participants, born in the United …

Impact Of Workplace Ostracism, Moderated By Personality Traits On Psychological Safety, Aniko Rastovac

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

Psychological safety, an essential element for fostering collaboration, trust, and innovation, can be undermined by negative interactions in the workplace. Most importantly, a lack of psychological safety is a barrier to individual and organizational growth, development, and innovation, which is necessary for gaining a competitive organizational advantage. The present study examines the concept of workplace ostracism as a negative interaction in the workplace that affects psychological safety. Using the big five personality traits framework, Edmondson’s (1999) concept of psychological safety, and Tett et al.’s (2021) trait activation theory, this quantitative study examined how individual differences moderate the impact of workplace …

Fostering Healthy Work Environments With Nurse Manager Transition To Practice Program, Anastasia Y. Rose, Janelle Schira, Marja Ross

Creating Healthy Work Environments (CHWE)

Background: Healthy work environments need effective nursing leadership (Mabona et al., 2022). Many new nurse managers lack the skills and knowledge needed for leadership roles (Espinoza et al., 2009). Turnover of new nurse managers is high, which can have a negative impact on nurse retention and quality of care (Warden, 2021). Per a national survey, over 50% of nurse leaders intend to leave their positions within next 5 years (Warden, 2021). A new manager orientation and mentorship programs could impact their practice, retention, and quality indicators, improve job satisfaction, organizational culture, and patient outcomes, and foster a healthy work environment …

Beyond Rationality: The Role Of Emotions In Communicative Planning, Minji Cho Feb 2026

Beyond Rationality: The Role Of Emotions In Communicative Planning, Minji Cho

Urban Studies and Planning Faculty Publications and Presentations

The impact of emotional dynamics has been overlooked within the field of planning. Traditional communicative planning theory, rooted in Habermas’ model of communication, typically propose that emotions should be managed to facilitate rational discussions that lead to logical agreements. Conversely, some research contends that emotions are not illogical or hazardous elements to be restrained during deliberation; instead, they are a topic requiring thorough investigation to create improved public forums. We investigate this tension by analysing facework during a land-use dispute at at the Gongjin Elementary School site in Seoul, South Korea. Our analysis reveals that facework not only impedes the …

Wills Eye Hospital Papers

PURPOSE: Idiopathic retinitis, vasculitis, aneurysms, and neuroretinitis (IRVAN) syndrome is typically diagnosed after characteristic intravenous fluorescein angiography (IVFA) findings develop. This case demonstrates that identifying a green intravascular and perivascular signal on multicolor fundus imaging may be a potential noninvasive imaging sign for ischemic retinal vasculitis in IRVAN.

OBSERVATIONS: A 55-year-old female presented with bilateral optic disc edema and subtle peripapillary retinal vascular changes. Multicolor imaging showed a distinct green intravascular and perivascular signal before undergoing IVFA evaluation. Subsequent IVFA ultimately showed peripheral capillary nonperfusion, microaneurysms, and leakage consistent with IRVAN.

CONCLUSIONS AND IMPORTANCE: This case demonstrates the potential utility …

Tumor Targeting With Peptide-Drug Conjugates: Showcasing Key Progress And Hurdles, Keykavous Parang, Thuy Do, Clare Dinh, Dorna Davanidavari, Max Foroughi, Troy Khong, Mahsa Moazen, Amir Nasrolahi Shirazi

Pharmacy Faculty Articles and Research

Peptide-drug conjugates (PDCs) are modular, targeted therapeutics composed of a homing peptide linked to a cytotoxic or modulating drug payload via a cleavable/non-cleavable linker. PDCs utilize peptide targeting to enhance the delivery of potent drugs to tumors, providing advantages such as superior tissue penetration, reduced immunogenicity, and simpler manufacture compared to antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). A comparison of PDCs versus ADCs highlights that PDCs’ small size (~1-3 kDa) enables deeper tumor penetration and faster clearance, whereas ADCs (~150 kDa) benefit from prolonged circulation but suffer from limited tissue diffusion. This review surveys recent advances in PDC design and application. We discuss …
