This study addresses the increasing threat of deepfake media by developing “Defaketicon” an educational website designed to raise awareness among senior high school STEM Technology students at Adamson University. The primary objective is to evaluate the students’ perceptions of the website in terms of performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions. Using a convergent mixed-method approach, the researchers conducted a non-experimental descriptive design for the quantitative data and a narrative inquiry for the qualitative aspect. Background: Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC., locally known as andaliman, is an indigenous spice from North Sumatra, Indonesia, recognized for its high antioxidant potential. Despite its bioactive richness, optimization of solvent extraction for phenolic and flavonoid compounds from its leaves remains underexplored, even though these compounds are valuable for food and pharmaceutical applications. The use of solvents such as acetone in analytical extraction contexts is acceptable; however, further purification steps would be required for applications in food and pharmaceutical products.

Background: Khiao-bencha-khan formula (KBF) is an herbal formula recorded in Thai scriptures and used to treat fever, including exanthematous fever, and aphthous ulcers. It consists of Limnophila rugosa (Roth) Merr., Bacopa monnieri (L.) Wettst., Gossypium arboreum L., Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) Benth., Eupatorium japonicum L., and Justicia gendarussa Burm.f.
Objectives: This study aimed to identify the pharmacognostic and chemical profiles of the herbal components found in KBF.

Background: The present study aimed to systematically develop and validate a robust, rapid, and stability-indicating reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) method for the simultaneous estimation of metformin and glimepiride in fixeddose combination tablets. Method development was guided by a design of experiments (DoE) approach using the Box-Behnken design (BBD) to ensure optimal analytical performance.

Background: Zein-based nanoparticles exhibit considerable potential for pharmaceutical and food applications. Incorporating inulin, a prebiotic polysaccharide, can improve their functional performance. Owing to the distinct solubilities of zein and inulin in aqueous ethanol, zein– inulin nanoparticles can be prepared through precipitation using their respective anti-solvents.

From Field To Marketplace: Nil, Identity Dynamics, And Well-Being Among College Athletes, Kathryn Heinze, Landy D. Lu, Hairou Ren, Sara Soderstom
Journal of Issues in Intercollegiate Athletics
The rapid expansion of name, image, and likeness (NIL) opportunities has reshaped the U.S. college sport landscape, yet limited research has examined how NIL engagement affects athlete identity and well-being. This study investigates the relationships among NIL engagement, identity salience, and stress. Survey data were collected from 351 Division I athletes across four major conferences. Regression analyses indicated that greater NIL commitment was associated with heightened athlete identity salience and increased NIL-related stress. NIL satisfaction emerged as a protective factor, predicting lower stress, whereas perceptions of fairness were not significantly related to stress. This study explores the potential of squash (Cucurbita maxima L.) seeds, an underutilized agricultural waste product, as a feedstock for biodiesel production. The resulting biodiesel was compared to a conventional biodiesel from waste soya bean cooking oil, focusing on the parameters of kinematic viscosity and flashpoint. A 1:10 (w/v) sample-to-solvent ratio was utilized through Soxhlet extraction, followed by rotary evaporation to maximize oil extraction. Subsequently, acid-base titration determines the oil’s Free Fatty Acid (FFA) content to be 2.08%, indicating its suitability for base-catalyzed transesterification. The environmental impact of plastic packaging is a growing global concern, with the rise of online shopping and its dependence on single-use plastics like bubble wrap. This study examines the potential of Allium sativum (garlic) peels as a sustainable protective packaging material, evaluating their durability, biodegradability, and acceptability in comparison to conventional bubble wrap. Specimens of garlic paper and bubble wrap were then tested under different parameters. Under durability, the results showed that garlic peel paper had a mean tensile strength of 416.80 N/m, comparable to bubble wrap at 453.90 N/m, with no significant difference in tensile strength. This research investigates the larvicidal potential of Caulerpa lentillifera, commonly known as sea grapes. Specifically, it aims to determine whether 0%, 10%, 20%, or 30% concentrations of C. lentillifera extract can significantly increase mosquito larval mortality after four hours of exposure. The experiment followed standardized guidelines established by the World Health Organization (WHO), and larval mortality was calculated using Abbott’s formula. It examines how subtle, subconscious advertising techniques used by coffee shops can affect purchasing decisions and emotional connections with brands. Data were collected from 131 clinicians using the CODECAT EZ 2.0 and TIP ZIP assessments to evaluate their competence in co-occurring disorders treatment. Results indicate that while participants held positive attitudes toward integrated care, their practical knowledge and skills were often rated as average or below. Preservice teachers often lack confidence in classroom assessment, highlighting the need for robust tools to measure assessment self-efficacy. The Classroom Assessment Self-Efficacy Survey (CASES) was designed to address this need. It comprises 24 items across two subscales: Evaluating Others’ Confidence (EOC) and Personal Performance Confidence (PPC). This study examined the psychometric properties of CASES using 223 responses from preservice teachers. Rasch modeling and other statistical techniques were applied to evaluate validity evidence based on response processes, internal structure, and relations to other variables. The multi-user virtual environment (MUVE), known as Second Life (SL™) has been used extensively for educational purposes. Yet less studied are applications of this environment to health education topics. The importance of preparing teacher candidates to use children's literature as a tool for encouraging literacy and providing equity in their future classrooms is a common thread in Teacher Preparation programs. However, the knowledge, skills, and dispositions of candidates in today's programs may be at odds with what university faculty and the demands of the classroom require. Diverse Pathways In Teacher Preparation: South Carolina Technical To 4-Year College Teacher Certification Initiative, Stephen Thompson, Jane Zenger

Developing technical to 4-year college teacher certification pathways has the potential to help alleviate South Carolina teacher shortages, especially in rural and high poverty settings. This article describes one such partnership, Diverse Pathways in Teacher Preparation, and provides rationale for expanding similar partnerships across South Carolina. Recommendations for implementation are included, beginning with creation of course articulation agreements for education majors between institutions. In addition, this article describes other support systems needed such as specialized advisements, on-site mentoring, support for course development, and expansion of clinical field experiences for technical college students. This presentation highlights the role I played as a case management intern for my field experience requirement. During my internship at Deborah's Place, a supportive housing program that supports women experiencing homelessness, I acquired extensive knowledge surrounding benefits assistance, federal and state-wide housing programs, and various supportive services used to help unhoused individuals.
