Impact Of Public Debt Refinancing Techniques On Managing Public Budgeting In Iraq: An Analytical Study, Noor Abdul Razaq Abdul Wahaab, Azhar Hasan Hasan Ali
Journal of Economics and Administrative Sciences
The use of public debt by the state as a primary financial instrument is an essential strategy for directing economic activity, ensuring economic stability, and fostering economic growth. Despite this, as the levels of public debt continue to climb, governments are increasingly resorting to debt refinancing methods that are focused on either replacing or rescheduling current debt or converting to a new kind of creditor via investment and securitization investment vehicles to relieve the burden of their debt. Utilization of these instruments is essential for effective management of the overall budget. The discovery that debt scheduling and the debt sustainability …

Constructing A Hybrid Algorithm To Model The Physical And Chemical Inspection Station Data Of The Shatt Al-Arab Waters, Ahmed Husham Mohammed, Marwan Abdul Ashour
Journal of Economics and Administrative Sciences
The aim of this paper is to find a hybrid method between of statistical methods that deal with non-linear high-dimensions. The data often suffer from complexity and overlap problems in their mathematical functions. It is difficult to delineate or accurately determine the effect of each variable on the other, accordingly it was constructing a hybrid model between the KPCA and FCM methods. The KPCA method aims to address the problem of high-dimensional nonlinear data and reduce it by finding a kernel matrix that depends primarily on the smoothing parameter matrix that was estimated using the ROT method. Then, the FCM …

Cerebrospinal Fluid-Based Spatial Statistics: Towards Quantitative Analysis Of Cerebrospinal Fluid Pseudodiffusivity, Yutong Chen, Hui Hong, Arash Nazeri, Hugh S Markus, Xiao Luo
2020-Current year OA Pubs
BACKGROUND: Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) circulation is essential in removing metabolic wastes from the brain and is an integral component of the glymphatic system. Abnormal CSF circulation is implicated in neurodegenerative diseases. Low b-value magnetic resonance imaging quantifies the variance of CSF motion, or pseudodiffusivity. However, few studies have investigated the relationship between the spatial patterns of CSF pseudodiffusivity and cognition.
METHODS: We introduced a novel technique, CSF-based spatial statistics (CBSS), to automatically quantify CSF pseudodiffusivity in each sulcus, cistern and ventricle. Using cortical regions as landmarks, we segmented each CSF region. We retrospectively analyzed a cohort of 93 participants with …

Predictors Of Counselors Accurately Diagnosing Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (Ocd) And Recommending Ocd-Specific Empirically Supported Treatments (Ests), Natalie Grierson
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Research has supported that obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is frequently misdiagnosed and not treated with OCD-specific, empirically supported treatments (ESTs) by healthcare professionals, resulting in negative consequences. Empirical findings are mixed regarding what predicts this and if counselors contribute to the concerns; therefore, it is imperative to investigate this with counselors. Using a medical model framework, the purpose of this quantitative study was to (a) examine the rate of counselors in the United States accurately diagnosing OCD, (b) identify the predictors for counselors accurately diagnosing OCD, (c) examine the rate of counselors recommending OCD-specific ESTs, and (d) identify the predictors for …

AU Long-read: Pleaseconfirmthatallheadinglevelsarerepresentedcorrectly sequencing is driving rapid progress in genome assembly : across all major groups of life, including species of the family Drosophilidae, a longtime model system for genetics, genomics, and evolution. We previously developed a cost-effective hybrid Oxford Nanopore (ONT) long-read and Illumina short-read sequencing approach and used it to assemble 101 drosophilid genomes from laboratory cultures, greatly increasing the number of genome assemblies for this taxonomic group. The next major challenge is to address the laboratory culture bias in taxon sampling by sequencing genomes of species that cannot easily be reared in the lab. Here, we build …

Orofacial clefts (OFCs) are common congenital birth defects with various etiologies, including genetic variants. Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man (OMIM) annotated several hundred genes involving OFCs. Furthermore, several hundreds of de novo variants (DNVs) have been identified from individuals with OFCs. Some DNVs are related to known OFC genes or pathways, but there are still many DNVs whose relevance to OFC development is unknown. To explore novel gene functions and their cellular expression profiles, we focused on DNVs in genes that were not listed in OMIM. We collected 960 DNVs in 853 genes from published studies and curated these genes, …

Orofacial clefts (OFCs) are among the most common human congenital birth defects. Previous multiethnic studies have identified dozens of associated loci for both cleft lip with or without cleft palate (CL/P) and cleft palate alone (CP). Although several nearby genes have been highlighted, the "casual" variants are largely unknown. Here, we developed DeepFace, a convolutional neural network model, to assess the functional impact of variants by SNP activity difference (SAD) scores. The DeepFace model is trained with 204 epigenomic assays from crucial human embryonic craniofacial developmental stages of post-conception week (pcw) 4 to pcw 10. The Pearson correlation coefficient between …

Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) is a prion disease that leads to rapid mental deterioration and is always fatal. Prions are glycoproteins found in the brain. While their function is not completely understood, irregular folding of these proteins leads to prion disorders and neurodegenerative disease. CJD is extremely rare (1-2 cases per million people). A 68-year-old woman presented to the family medicine clinic with symptoms of weakness, paresthesia, and foot drop. Some weeks later she presented at the emergency department with left ankle and foot pain. All symptoms were on the left side of the body. An initial workup with labs was …

The three major anatomic regions of the human kidney include the cortex, medulla and papilla, with different functions and vulnerabilities to kidney diseases. Epigenetic mechanisms underlying these anatomic structures are incompletely understood. Here, we performed chromatin conformation capture with Hi-C and histone modification H3K4me3/H3K27me3 Cleavage Under Targets and Release Using Nuclease (CUT&RUN) sequencing on the kidney cortex, medulla and papilla dissected from one individual donor. Nuclear suspensions were generated from each region and split subjected to paired Hi-C and CUT&RUN sequencing. We evaluated the quality of next-generation sequencing data, Hi-C chromatin contact matrices and CUT&RUN peak calling. H3K4me3 and H3K27me3 …

HLA-B*27 was one of the first HLA alleles associated with an autoimmune disease, i.e., axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) and acute anterior uveitis (B27AAU), which cause joint and eye inflammation, respectively. Gastrointestinal inflammation has been suggested as a trigger of axSpA. We recently identified a bacterial peptide (YeiH) that can be presented by HLA-B*27 to expanded public T cell receptors in the joint in axSpA and the eye in B27AAU. While YeiH is present in enteric microbiota and pathogens, additional evidence that pathogenic T cells in HLA-B*27-associated autoimmunity may have had a prior antigenic encounter within the gastrointestinal tract remains lacking. Here, …

Whole-Genome Sequences Reveal Zygotic Composition In Chimeric Twins, Christopher J Yoon, Obi L Griffith, Malachi Griffith, Et Al.
2020-Current year OA Pubs
While most dizygotic twins have a dichorionic placenta, rare cases of dizygotic twins with a monochorionic placenta have been reported. The monochorionic placenta in dizygotic twins allows in utero exchange of embryonic cells, resulting in chimerism in the twins. In practice, this chimerism is incidentally identified in mixed ABO blood types or in the presence of cells with a discordant sex chromosome. Here, we applied whole-genome sequencing to one triplet and one twin family to precisely understand their zygotic compositions, using millions of genomic variants as barcodes of zygotic origins. Peripheral blood showed asymmetrical contributions from two sister zygotes, where …

The purpose of this study is to investigate the position of women in Terengganu’s copra industry between 1900 and 1941. Coconut is one of the major crops traditionally farmed in Terengganu, and during this time period, excess coconuts were dried, smoked, and grated to become copra. In Terengganu, the copra sector was intimately linked to women, who were innovators creating a variety of coconut-based food and non-food products, including soap, cooking oil, traditional desserts, and more. Nevertheless, prior studies have mostly disregarded the creative role that women played in Terengganu’s copra sector during this time. Studies on women from Terengganu …
