Parameter Estimation For Stroke Patients Using Brain Ct Perfusion Imaging With Deep Temporal Convolutional Neural Network, Shake Ibna Abir
Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
Acute ischemic stroke, caused by cerebral artery blockage, is a leading cause of long-term disability and mortality. Effective management relies on accurate, timely assessments from neuroimaging data. Computed tomography perfusion (CTP) imaging is crucial in evaluating stroke patients, offering detailed maps of cerebral perfusion to identify irreversibly damaged tissue and at-risk areas. This detailed assessment is essential for informed therapeutic decisions.
Key perfusion parameters derived from CTP imaging, including cerebral blood volume (CBV), cerebral blood flow (CBF), time to peak (TTP), and mean transit time (MTT), are crucial for understanding the extent and nature of cerebral ischemia, providing valuable insights …

Unrefined And Milled Ilmenite As A Cost-Effective Photocatalyst For Uv-Assisted Destruction And Mineralization Of Pfas, Eustace Y. Fernando, Zhiming Zhang
Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering Departmental Research
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are fluorinated and refractory pollutants that are ubiquitous in industrial wastewater. Photocatalytic destruction of such pollutants with catalysts such as TiO2 and ZnO is an attractive avenue for removal of PFAS, but refined forms of such photocatalysts are expensive. This study, for the first time, utilized milled unrefined raw mineral ilmenite, coupled to UV-C irradiation to achieve mineralization of the two model PFAS compounds perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluoro octane sulfonic acid (PFOS). Results obtained using a bench-scale photocatalytic reactor system demonstrated rapid removal kinetics of PFAS compounds (>90% removal in less than 10 …

No. 26: Pandemic Precarities And Remittance Narratives In The Global South, Jonathan Crush, Sujata Ramachandran
Migration and Food Security (MiFOOD) Network
The COVID-19 pandemic has been referred to as a great disruptor of global migration leading to a crisis of immobility caused by public health lockdowns, closed borders, and the suspension of visa processing. Layoffs and retrenchments of migrant workers led to widespread hardship and an intensification of pre-pandemic precarity, as well as disrupted remittance channels and flows. Against this backdrop, the paper provides an overview of current debates about the relationship between COVID-19 and international migration in the context of South-South migration. We assess how pre-pandemic South-South migration flows were disrupted by the pandemic and the evidence for a crisis …

Background: High-grade liver injuries with extravasation (HGLI + Extrav) are associated with morbidity/mortality. For low-grade injuries, an observation (OBS) first-strategy is beneficial over initial angiography (IR), however, it is unclear if OBS is safe for HGLI + Extrav. Therefore, we evaluated the management of HGLI + Extrav patients, hypothesizing IR patients will have decreased rates of operation and mortality. Methods: HGLI + Extrav patients managed with initial OBS or IR were included. The primary outcome was need for operation. Secondary outcomes included liver-related complications (LRCs) and mortality. Results: From 59 patients, 23 (39.0%) were managed with OBS and 36 (61.0%) …
Diseases Of Cannabis Sativa And The Epidemiology And Molecular Diversity Of Neofusicoccum Parvum, Hannah V. Zima
Diseases Of Cannabis Sativa And The Epidemiology And Molecular Diversity Of Neofusicoccum Parvum, Hannah V. Zima
