Religion and spirituality have been shown to have positive effects on physical and mental health in recent years. Despite this, research suggests religion and spirituality as characteristics of clients to be overlooked in modern secular psychotherapy treatments. This study investigated mental health outcomes from psychotherapy related to the perceived integration of religious and spiritual beliefs. A survey was administered to and taken by 178 University of New Hampshire students on the web-platform Qualtrics to investigate client psychotherapy experiences and their perception of how their religious and spiritual beliefs and values were integrated. To explore middle-power strategies, this policy paper examines the emerging bilateral defense partnership between Australia and the Philippines, scheduled for signing in 2026. Both Australia and the Philippines, as mutual defense partners to the United States, are faced with insecurity given the second Trump administration's comments towards a strict “America first” policy. Teacher attrition has long been a concern in the K-12 educational sector, driven by various factors such as low salaries, lack of administrative support, increased teacher workload and responsibilities, and teacher stress and burnout. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck in March 2020, these existing pressures intensified. Quality movement patterns are vital for fitness, reducing the risk of injuries, and contributing to motivation for physical activity. Forensic entomology plays a critical role in estimating the minimum postmortem interval (mPMIs), based on insect evidence. When victims are concealed, this can complicate mPMI estimates. Utilizing data from the National Violent Death Reporting System (NVDRS) from 2018 to 2021, I found that victims of infanticides and neonaticides are often concealed. I first investigated the demographics of offenders and victims, how often victims are concealed, and the most common means of concealment. I found that victims of infanticide were likely to be concealed 5% of the time, and neonaticides 50% of the time. Next, I investigated how concealment alters insect …

Single-session resistance priming protocols are used by strength and conditioning coaches to acutely improve neuromuscular mechanisms that are beneficial to athletic performance. This study aimed to examine if a concentric-only hex bar deadlift (CHBDL) would produce a similar post-activation performance enhancement (PAPE) effect as a full-range-of-motion hex bar deadlift (THBDL) and mitigate perceived measures of fatigue and soreness in collegiate athletes. 19 NCAA Division I baseball athletes completed the study. TU100 (14-methyl-5H-5,12-epiminobenzo[4,5]cyclohepta[1,2-b]naphthalene-6,11,13(12H)-trione) exhibits exceptional chemotherapeutic properties. It operates via a distinct mechanism that triggers cell death to create cytotoxic effects while concurrently inhibiting topoisomerase I and II. Its efficacy rivals that of well-known chemotherapeutic drugs like Daunorubicin. The distinctive characteristics of TU100 have led to initiatives aimed at creating structurally similar compounds to discover even more effective bioactive alternatives.

This study explores the intersection of socio-cultural perspectives, cultural identity, and cultural motherhood involvement through the lived experiences of ten first-generation Latina immigrant mothers. The purpose is to analyze immigrant Latina mothers’ experiences, communications, and activities that support their children’s educational success. This research presents a novel Frequency Domain Transmitometry (FDT) method that uses transmitted signals (S21) to detect and characterize aircraft data transmission lines (ADTL) corrosion damage without additional reflectometry circuitry. Corrosion experiments were conducted according to ASTM G85-A5 over 14 weeks. Combined FDT and reflected signals (S11) analyses revealed distinct three-peak signatures associated with damage and corrosion. The square root of the Area Under the Curve (AUC) of the FDT damage peak and the Full Width at Three-Quarter Maximum (FW3QM) of the S11 damage peak is correlated with corrosion propagation depth and width. The suite of tools developed includes automated procedures for data mining and extracting meteorological (met) data from various national and regional repositories. A second data analytics tool automates the process of data fusion into a uniform format while preserving data fidelity. Autocorrelations were then established, and correlation coefficients were calculated between the Callaway Nuclear Power Plant (Callaway) and nearby off-site weather stations. This dissertation investigates the use of human systems integration (HSI) to develop technologies for miners’ self-escape during a mine emergency, addressing barriers that compromise miner safety during emergencies.

Recognizing the inherently hazardous nature of underground mining, this study has three core objectives: (1) assessing miners' perceptions of proposed self-escape interventions, (2) designing interventions based on these insights, and (3) validating their effectiveness using experimental testing. This work evaluates self-escape interventions for both coal and metal/non-metal miners using scenario-based surveys, information design reviews, label designs and experimental testing methods varying across three distinct studies.

Although many nanotechnology-based formulations have been developed and showed great potential in ocular drug delivery, this is far from enough to meet clinical requirements. These studies aimed at the design and synthesis of novel nanoparticles using multi-inlet vortex mixer (MIVM) to improve ocular drug delivery efficiency. Research presented in this research is focused on developing and implementing novel photonic systems for instantaneous microwave frequency and displacement measurement, emphasizing cost-effectiveness, scalability, and high resolution. The research is encapsulated in three core studies: the design of all-fiber ultrafast ranging Lidar for medical motion management, the application of dispersive interferometry using picosecond laser pulses for laser ranging, and the integration of microwave photonic systems with digital signal processing (DSP) for enhanced measurement precision.

Exposure to organophosphate-based nerve agents and pesticides poses significant health and security threats to civilians, soldiers, and first responders. Despite extensive efforts to develop chemical detoxification agents for use in topical applications on exposed skin surfaces and for intravenous injections, there remains an unmet need for effective, non-hazardous decontaminating agents. The current state-of-the-art decontaminating agent, Dekon-139 (2,3-butanedione oxime, potassium salt), exhibits adverse effects when applied to the skin.

These environmental and geometric conditions result in significant attenuation of electromagnetic (EM) waves and multipath effects that undermine miner localization and rescue operations. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between nutrition knowledge and dietary behavior while controlling for academic major, year, and gender among Division III student-athletes. BACKGROUND: Hyperkalemia, generally defined as serum potassium levels greater than 5.0 mEq/L, poses significant clinical risks, including cardiac toxicity and muscle weakness. Its prevalence and severity increase in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), diabetes mellitus, and heart failure (HF), particularly when compounded by medications like angiotensin converting inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers, and potassium sparing diuretics. Hyperkalemia arises from disruptions in potassium regulation involving intake, excretion, and intracellular-extracellular distribution. In CKD and acute kidney injury, these regulatory mechanisms are impaired, leading to heightened risk. This piece of work draws on both critical discourse and critical narrative inquiry to examine the long-term romantic relationship experiences of those in autistic/non-autistic long-term romantic relationships. Four couples participated, three heterosexual and one female same-sex couple. The participants were given the opportunity to tell their narratives in a variety of forms, through interviews, emails, stories and with photographs and mementoes as prompts. These forms inspired the way that the data was retold in the research using a variety of styles reflecting the narrative choices of the participants. This ethnographic criminological research aimed to address several theoretical gaps in the existing literature surrounding trans people, vulnerability, and victimisation. The overarching objective of this study was to offer a revised account of the harms trans people encounter in relation to their work via a new theoretical framework which is informed by ultra-realist criminology, critical hate studies. The theoretical framework was informed by contemporary criminologies of the harms of work, as opposed to the harms the institution of work is argued to inflict upon intersectional aspects of the individual’s social identity. Plastic pollution has had a detrimental global impact, particularly in the marine environment, due to its mobility, longevity, and tendency to be difficult to retrieve. The situation has worsened because of the increased production and consumption of plastics and the fact that pollution occurs throughout the entirety of plastics’ production and lifecycle. Its pathways/vectors to the marine environment are diffuse and complex.
