Quality Improvement Project: Empowering Change: Evidence-Based Strategies To Improve Ai Use In Pedagogy, Amanda Boyle
Quality Improvement Project: Empowering Change: Evidence-Based Strategies To Improve Ai Use In Pedagogy, Amanda Boyle
Doctor of Nursing Practice Projects
Artificial intelligence (AI) continues to integrate into healthcare and higher education; however, Health Science faculty at the project site lacked formal training to operate or teach AI responsibly. This Doctor of Nursing Practice quality improvement project evaluated whether computer-based AI literacy education improved Health Science faculty members’ self-reported AI literacy. It was predicted that faculty AI literacy scores would improve after completing the intervention. Kotter’s change model and Benner’s novice-to-expert framework informed implementation of change and faculty professional development. The Plan–Do–Study–Act model supported evaluation. In a one-group, quasi-experimental preintervention–postintervention study design at a North Texas two-year college, 19 eligible Health …

A Quality Improvement Project: Impacting Communication Perceptions Among Nursing Staff And Providers Regarding Perioperative Medication Management Impacting Anesthesia Care, Demetria Jefferson
Doctor of Nursing Practice Projects
Medication-related surgical cancellations disrupt patient care, increase healthcare costs, and contribute to inefficient use of perioperative resources. Evidence supports standardized education and communication to improve perioperative medication safety. This quality improvement project aimed to improve staff self-efficacy in communicating medication instructions and reduce surgical cancellations associated with sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors, glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists, and phentermine. Bandura’s Social Cognitive Theory and Lewin’s Change Model guided the project. A quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design included perioperative staff who provided medication instructions across two settings within an academic health sciences center. Using the Plan-Do-Study-Act framework, interventions included standardized staff education, patient …

Participant Recruitment And Retention In Studies Investigating Pregnancy-Related Pelvic Girdle Pain: A Methodological Systematic Review, Jasmine Darley, Bradley Halliday, Jill Shawe, Joanne Hosking, Zoe Hoare, Jennifer Freeman
School of Nursing and Midwifery
BackgroundRecruiting and retaining participants for clinical trials is a common and well-documented challenge, with particular complexity in perinatal populations which are historically underrepresented in health research. Recruitment and retention are known to be shaped by context-specific factors, yet no systematic review has examined these processes within the clinical domain of pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain (PPGP), a common and potentially debilitating condition affecting around one in five women in the UK.ObjectiveThis methodological systematic review aimed to summarise participant recruitment and retention in clinical trials investigating PPGP across four objectives: (1) to identify methods of recruitment and retention; (2) to assess the …
Cmsi Translations #36: The First Joint Underwater Patrol: Starting With The China-Russia "Joint Sea-2025" Exercise, Guan Hai
CMSI Translations
In August of this year (2025), deep within the waters of the Northwestern Pacific, an underwater patrol was reshaping the strategic landscape of the Asia-Pacific. The Russian submarine Volkhov and the Chinese Navy’s submarine Changcheng 210 came together in a joint formation for the first time, traversing the Sea of Japan and the East China Sea to complete a joint underwater patrol spanning more than 2,000 nautical miles.
The joint underwater patrol conducted by Chinese and Russian submarine formations represents a new form of joint maritime patrol for the two navies, following their joint surface ship patrols. This move not …

Aesthetic encounters often feel immediate, yet contemporary theories emphasize that engagement with art unfolds over time through a sequence of perceptual and cognitive processes. Despite the importance of this temporal structure to models of aesthetic experience, there are no psychometric tools designed to capture engagement as a process rather than as a disposition or an outcome. We introduce the Art Engagement Reflection Scale (AERS), a brief, mixed-methods, artwork-specific measure grounded in the mirror model of art. We present two studies that examined the psychometric properties of the AERS across controlled and naturalistic online contexts. In Study 1, participants responded to …

Chemistry Faculty Research & Creative Works
Investigation of the phytohormone and lipid peroxidation product levels in plant seeds can provide an insight into their germination potential and vigor. Simultaneous analysis of these diverse classes of compounds presents a significant challenge for a sample preparation method tailored to accommodate their distinct chemical properties. In this study, an analytical method consisting of simple extraction, molecular weight cutoff filtration, and subsequent liquid-chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) analysis was developed for accurate quantification of 11 phytohormones including 2 auxins, 4 cytokinins, 2 gibberellins, abscisic acid, salicylic acid, and jasmonic acid in plant seeds. Additionally, the new method was used for …

Comparative Analysis Of Bacterial Recbcd And Sbcc-Sbcd Systems And The Yeast Mre11-Rad50 Complex During Dna Replication, Tannos Seyedjavadi
Dissertations and Theses
Accurate completion of DNA replication when forks converge is essential for genome stability. In Escherichia coli, several proteins have been identified including RecG, ExoI, RecBCD, and SbcCD, that contribute to completing replication, and loss of these factors causes genetic instability. Eukaryotes encode proteins with homology to several E. coli completion enzymes. Mre11–Rad50 complex is structurally and functionally conserved with bacterial SbcCD, and Rrm3 shares homologous motifs with bacterial RecBCD. These proteins are often described as being involved in homologous double strand break repair. Whether they are also conserved and play a similar role as their E. coli counterparts in …

Sustainable Development Of National Park Communities In China: Conditions, Challenges, And Implementation Paths, Baorong Huang, Xuetian Hu, Ling Tang, Zhi Wang, Zhi Zhang
Bulletin of Chinese Academy of Sciences (Chinese Version)
Promoting the sustainable development of communities in national parks is essential to the high-quality construction of the world’s largest national park system in China. Drawing on systematic social surveys of communities within national parks and candidate areas, this study outlines the key characteristics of these communities and analyzes their current development status, challenges, and constraints. It proposes a fivefold approach to advancing sustainability. Namely, (1) conceptually, by establishing a theoretical and cognitive framework for human–nature coexistence and overcoming antagonistic perceptions between parks and communities; (2) strategically, by fostering model villages and green development zones led by communities; (3) institutionally, by …

Quality Improvement Project: Impacting Clinical Competency Through Faculty Preparation: A Standardized Teaching Guide Initiative, Caroline White
Doctor of Nursing Practice Projects
Variability in clinical teaching practices can contribute to inconsistent faculty preparation and student learning experiences. This quality improvement project addressed the absence of a standardized clinical teaching resource within an Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program at a public technical college in the southeastern United States. The purpose was to implement a standardized, evidence-based clinical teaching guide to improve faculty confidence and clinical educator skill acquisition. Social Cognitive Theory provided the theoretical framework, and Lewin’s Change Theory guided practice change. A quantitative, quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design was used. Fourteen eligible nursing faculty and clinical instructors were invited to participate; 10 participated, …

Osteoblast-Derived Nerve Growth Factor Supports Skeletal Adaptation To Mechanical Load And The Osteoanabolic Effect Of Gambogic Amide In Mice, Ibtesam Rajpar, Eri Mclaughlin, Gabriella Fioravanti, Nicholas Ruggiero, Nohael Cherian, Liliana Minichiello, Ryan E. Tomlinson
Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Faculty Papers
In adult mice, new bone accrual following mechanical load is mediated by the neurotrophin nerve growth factor (NGF) that is expressed by osteoblasts on the bone surface. NGF can bind to its high affinity receptor, neurotrophic tyrosine kinase receptor type 1 (TrkA), on peripheral sensory nerves resident in bone and support new bone formation. However, the osteoanabolic therapeutic potential of NGF-TrkA signaling to repair bone is limited due to the long-lasting thermal and mechanical hyperalgesia induced by administration of NGF in mice and humans. Here, we investigated whether 1) mature osteoblasts are the primary source of NGF required for bone …

Paleoecology Of Loftusia Species (Large Benthic Foraminifera) In The Zagros Basin, North Of The Neotethys, Hossein Ghanbarloo, Amrollah Safari
Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences
Paleoecological analyses based on the wall structure of the genus Loftusia were carried out in the Maastrichtian deposits of seven outcrops of the Zagros Basin. Two types of particles are present within the wall structure: (1) tiny fossil grains and (2) detrital grains. Tiny fossil grains consist of smaller foraminifera and other small microorganism tests. Foraminiferal tests are associated with miliolid, textulariid, and rotaliid forms. Detrital grains include intraclasts and extraclasts. The presence of different particles in the test wall of this genus and the abundance of this genus in nutrient-rich conditions indicate that Loftusia are probably opportunistic foraminifera. This …

This literature review examined how educational leaders can implement culturally responsive practices to support multilingual learners, improve academic achievement, encourage a sense of belonging, and advance equitable educational outcomes. A total of sixteen qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods studies were reviewed, along with two conceptual studies that provided additional guidance. Three recurring themes emerged: culturally and linguistically responsive practices, professional development, and Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS). The research suggested that multilingual learners were best supported when educators viewed students’ languages, cultures, identities, and lived experiences as academic assets and integrated these resources into instruction. Findings also showed that professional development …

Multidimensional Biomarker Profiling For Differentiating Rheumatoid Arthritis And Osteoarthritis In Postmenopausal Women, Kareem Salim Abod, Salma Abdulredha Abbas
Baghdad Science Journal
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and osteoarthritis (OA) are common, but pathophysiologically distinct disorders that disproportionately affect postmenopausal women. Conventional biomarkers remain limited, particularly in seronegative RA and early OA. This study evaluated a multidimensional biomarker panel covering inflammatory, oxidative, hormonal, and extracellular matrix (ECM) markers to define disease-related patterns and discriminatory potential. A cross-sectional case-control study was conducted on 90 postmenopausal women classified into RA, OA, and healthy control groups (n=30 each). Serum C-reactive protein (CRP), anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (anti-CCP), interleukin-33 (IL-33), interleukin-36 (IL-36), estradiol (E2), matrix metalloproteinase-13 (MMP-13), and aggrecan were measured by ELISA. Oxidative stress was assessed using malondialdehyde …

Structural And Hamiltonian Properties Of The N–Array Unit Graphs Over Finite Rings, Puguh Wahyu Prasetyo, Muhammad Ardiyansyah, Joe Repka
Baghdad Science Journal
Consider a finite ring R, and let U( R ) denote the set of all its unit elements. The unit graph G_R of R is defined as follows: the vertex set V( G_R ) consists of all elements of R. Two distinct elements a,\ b∈ \ G_R are adjacent if and only if a + b∈ U( R ). Recent research has provided necessary and sufficient conditions for the unit graph G_R to have a Hamiltonian cycle. However, the property of Hamiltonicity under direct product constructions of rings has not been fully understood. This paper addresses this gap by studying …

Student Publications
Pseudoaneurysm after arthroscopic knee procedures is uncommon but clinically important because it can initially resemble routine postoperative swelling, hematoma, recurrent hemarthrosis, deep vein thrombosis, infection, or compartment syndrome. PubMed, Embase, and Scopus were searched through July 9, 2026. The original database pathway yielded 312 records and 54 included reports representing 60 patient cases. During peer-review citation audit, three additional potentially eligible reports were identified; two full texts were retrieved and included, while one report could not be retrieved and was not used for patient-level inference. The final synthesis therefore included 56 reports and 62 patient cases. Using a mutually exclusive …
