The paper will highlight ongoing work at three cultural heritage institutions in northern Ohio (Bowling Green State University, Kent State University, and the Lakeside Heritage Society) to extend the work begun during grant-funded digital projects beyond the term of a grant. This Article examines how the law is complicit in educating and socializing children into the cultural practices of gender and privacy. It accomplishes this by analyzing case law that involves minors and men’s public bathrooms. The men’s room is a place rife with social ambiguity, an ambiguity that has come to a head in recent transgender school bathroom cases. Rural Renting: An Empirical Portrait Of Eviction, Cassie Chambers Armstrong, Christopher J. Ryan Jr.

University of Cincinnati Law Review

In this Study, we examine eviction from the renter’s perspective. Specifically, we seek to understand what factors influence the eviction process—and the likelihood it will result in a judgment against a renter—once a property owner initiates legal proceedings. To this end, we used records from 202,572 eviction cases filed by landlords in Kentucky state courts. We employed statistical modeling to determine what impacted whether each case ultimately ended in a judgment of eviction against the renter.

Background: Certain health-related risk factors require legal interventions. Medical-legal partnerships (MLPs) are collaborations between clinics and lawyers that address these health-harming legal needs (HHLNs) and have been shown to improve health and reduce utilization.

Objective: The objective of this study is to explore the impact, barriers, and facilitators of MLP implementation in primary care clinics.

Methods: A qualitative design using a semistructured interview assessed the perceived impact, barriers, and facilitators of an MLP, among clinicians, clinic and MLP staff, and clinic patients. Petroglyph National Monument (PETR) resides at the intersection of geology, urban development, and environmental preservation. As the site of convergence for these complex systems, this National Park site is an example of what kinds of interactions occur between humans and nonhumans and how these interactions mediate our broader understanding of material world. This project utilizes literature from more-than-human geographies and new materialism to examine how these interactions inform the management strategies of PETR. This paper highlights the disparity in meeting consumer expectations for broadcasting sports content. The current shift to online streaming services creates accessibility and affordability challenges, leading to an increase in illegal streaming. The existing copyright laws in Canada and the U.S. have some limitations in enforcing the rights of sports media rights holders against primary or secondary infringement, and intermediaries face difficulties in removing infringing content. While injunctions and site-blocking orders are potential solutions, they may not completely combat online piracy. A possible solution is a centralized streaming service to address piracy while improving customer satisfaction. However, concerns about feasibility, …

Amy Barbour (PhD Yale, 1902) was one of the first women to receive a PhD in Classics in the United States. This essay describes how Barbour’s social context, gender, and national identity inflected her engagement with transatlantic intellectual trends. A biographical sketch culminating with Barbour’s career at Smith College as Professor of Ancient Greek is followed by a description of her academic achievements in the light of contemporary disciplinary anxiety and the use of biography as a scholarly tool. Background: Veterans of the 1990-1991 Gulf War have experienced excess health problems, most prominently the multisymptom condition Gulf War illness (GWI). The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Cooperative Studies Program #2006 "Genomics of Gulf War Illness in Veterans" project was established to address important questions concerning pathobiological and genetic aspects of GWI. The current study evaluated patterns of chronic ill health/GWI in the VA Million Veteran Program (MVP) Gulf War veteran cohort in relation to wartime exposures and key features of deployment, 27-30 years after Gulf War service.

Background: Adjuvant endocrine therapy has been shown to improve treatment outcomes in breast cancer patients. However, not all patients can complete their scheduled treatment protocols. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the adherence to oral hormonal therapy among Egyptian breast cancer patients. Patients and methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted at the National Cancer Institute, Breast Cancer Hospital, from February 2022 to May 2022. An interview and a survey were administered to assess the adherence of breast cancer patients to oral hormonal treatment. Adherence was measured using the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale-8 (MMAS-8). Results: The survey was fully …
