Intelligent Method Of Dynamic Control For A Class Of Stochastic Nonlinear Systems, Isamidin Khakimovich Siddikov, Davronbek Abdalimovich Khalmatov, Gulchekhra Rakhimjanovna Alimova, Dilnoza Rakhmanovna Khushnazarova

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

The paper considered the problems of researching the stabilisation system and backstepping control of stochastic nonlinear systems. The characteristics of stochastic nonlinear dynamic control systems are random signals with normal lawful distribution, which significantly complicates task control. In stochastic control, it is necessary to determine the trajectories of the control variables in order to achieve the desired control objective at minimum cost. Since the mathematical equations of stochastic nonlinear systems are not always constant, not every model-based controller can be accurate. Therefore, in this work, a neuro-fuzzy network is used to evaluate the parameters of the control system with backstepping, …

Reinforcement Learning In A Virtual World: A Study Of Ppo And Sac Within Unity Ml Agents, Rufat Mammadzada

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

This study explores the use of Unity3D as a versatile platform for developing, training, and evaluating intelligent agents through reinforcement learning. Leveraging the Unity ML-Agents Toolkit, a dynamic 3D environment was created to examine agent learning behavior using two advanced algorithms: Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) and Soft Actor-Critic (SAC). The simulation environment consisted of navigable terrain bounded by red borders, with collectible blue balls serving as rewards and a purple cube representing the agent. A carefully designed reward system was implemented to encourage goal-directed behavior and penalize inefficiency, while time constraints introduced an additional challenge requiring both precision and speed. …

Spatio-Temporal Gcn With Softmax Classifier For Skeleton-Based Human Action Recognition, Kabul Khudaybergenov, Avazjon Marakhimov, Zahriddin Muminov

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

Skeleton-based human action recognition is an important research area with many practical applications. Most existing methods rely on single representations of skeletal sequences, which cannot totally obtain all the complex features of human movements. This paper presents LFHAR (Latent Features for Human Action Recognition), a new framework that uses multiple spatio-temporal latent representations to improve the extraction of action features. Our method captures how skeletal poses change over time and combines motion information from both individual joints and connected body parts. The proposed approach applies graph-based processing to each skeleton frame in a sequence, then arranges the resulting graph features …

Harvey A. Friedman Center for Aging

According to the Pew Research Center, nearly one-in-five Americans ages 65 and older (19%) were employed in 2023, a rate nearly twice that from 35 years ago. They’re also working more hours, on average, than in the recent past. In fact, more than three-in-five older workers (62%) work full time, an increase from the 47% working full time in 1987. Older workers today are also more educated and are more likely to be receiving employer-sponsored benefits, such as retirement savings plans and health insurance, than in earlier decades. While only 4% of the entire labor force was made up of …

In this article we explore ways of approaching what educators and researchers perceive as mistakes that are consistent with views of mathematics that tolerate ambiguity, contradiction, and multiple possible truths. The approaches we describe draw on works within and beyond the field of mathematics education and detail theories from biologist Humberto Maturana, community organizers Bob Moses and Ella Baker, and poet-philosopher Edouard Glissant. These alternative theoretical perspectives are distinctly relational in their approach. They can build on the field’s current conceptualizations of pedagogical responses to errors in ways that attend to calls for broadening what it means to do mathematics …

Teduglutide is a glucagon-like peptide 2 (GLP-2) analogue that was approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of pediatric (>1 year) intestinal failure due to short bowel syndrome in 2019. GLP-2 analogues promote rapid intestinal adaptation, increasing the absorptive capacity of residual intestine after surgical resection to aid the achievement of enteral autonomy or reduce parenteral nutrition requirements. Despite relatively few reported side effects, there is a theoretical risk of proliferative complications. Here we present an intriguing case of a pediatric patient found to have a decade-long retained, discontinuous segment of colon from a …

Polymyositis (PM) has been in the diagnostic armamentarium in medicine since the mid-nineteenth century. Medicine training puts a heavy emphasis on this diagnosis, and anyone with proximal muscle weakness with elevated serum creatinine kinase is assumed to be PM and a number of patients were rendered this diagnosis without additional testing. This article addresses the historical aspects of the diagnosis of PM and its evolution. We review this literature that addresses the rarity of this diagnosis and rightly puts in perspective in terms of its occurrence in relation to other inflammatory myositides.

As survival rates of extremely preterm (EPT) infants continue to improve, focus has shifted to reduce morbidity and complications in these vulnerable patients. Management of EPT infants presents significant clinical, logistical, and sometimes ethical challenges. Outcomes across centers are highly variable and strongly influenced by the care provided in the early neonatal period. Standardized guidelines, based on published literature and center-specific experiences, play an important role in improving outcomes for EPT infants. Multidisciplinary guidelines provide a framework for clinical management and support a consistent care approach. Guidelines can improve care throughout the entire neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) course, beginning …

Acromion and scapular spine fractures (ASFs) pose significant challenges in the management of patients undergoing reverse total shoulder arthroplasty and there is a pressing need for effective preventive measures. Current predictive factors for ASF include female sex, osteoporosis, older age, and anatomical considerations such as glenoid medialization and acromial morphology. However, surgical options to mitigate ASF risk are limited. In this study, we propose a novel technique: incorporation of distal acromial tip fusion (DATF) during primary reverse total shoulder arthroplasty procedures. DATF involves bony fusion between the undersurface of the anterolateral acromion and the region where the superior rim of …

Technology Discontinuance: A Systematic Literature Review And Research Agenda, Birgit Altrichter, Sabine Benoit

Research Collection Lee Kong Chian School Of Business

Technology discontinuance by users who quit digital services such as social media or lose interest in their devices after a few weeks is a common phenomenon. Yet it has received little research attention; the few studies that address it are scattered across disciplines. Research into customer churn is more prevalent, but it implies switching providers rather than halting usage altogether. By moving beyond discipline-based knowledge boundaries and conducting a systematic literature review, the current article proposes a technology discontinuance framework, which details seven technology discontinuance types (overuse, overload, proficiency, disenchantment, social, circumstantial, and solution) and their drivers. For example, guilt …

Research Collection Lee Kong Chian School Of Business

This case study uses Spotify’s AI DJ to examine the “personalization paradox,” where product features designed to deepen user connection can instead cause alienation. An analysis of over 1,400 user comments identifies three core frictions: a perceived loss of user agency, mismanaged expectations for the human-like AI, and a scalability bottleneck that led to repetitive content. Students are placed in the role of a product manager tasked with developing a prioritized roadmap to address these issues, forcing them to grapple with the critical trade-offs between technological capability and user psychology.
