ASEAN Journal on Science and Technology for Development

The rapid digitization of human activities has intensified reliance on internet-based platforms, creating fertile ground for cybercriminal exploits such as phishing. Despite advancements in detection mechanisms, phishing attacks continue to evolve, leveraging sophisticated visual mimicry to deceive users. This paper proposes a robust vision-based phishing detection system using ensemble deep learning to analyse webpage screenshots. The framework integrates transfer learning with pre-trained VGG16 and DenseNet121 models, extracting complementary low-level texture features (edges, gradients) and high-level hierarchical patterns (logos, layouts). These features are fused through a custom classifier with dropout regularization to mitigate overfitting. A balanced dataset of 3,000 webpage screenshots …

A Mold Mating Surface Temperature Monitoring System For Injection Molding Using Infrared Thermography And Mahalanobis Distance, Yoshio Fukushima, Makoto Fukushima, Sho Shibuya, Keigo Kudo, Yuta Abe

ASEAN Journal on Science and Technology for Development

In plastic injection molding, minimizing defects is crucial for sustainable and stable manufacturing because resin behavior and molding conditions fluctuate due to variations in material lots, seasonal shifts, and factory environmental factors such as temperature and humidity. Among various process parameters, mold temperature - specifically the mold mating surface temperature immediately after part ejection- plays a critical role in mitigating these variations and maintaining consistent product quality. However, embedding conventional sensors into the mating surface is structurally difficult. While non-contact infrared thermography is an effective alternative, shiny metallic mold surfaces suffer from low emissivity, leading to inaccurate readings. Furthermore, high-end …

Dammed If You Do: Should The Government Be Liable For Hurricane Flooding And Other Natural Disasters?, Lior Jacob Strahilevitz

Coase-Sandor Institute for Law & Economics Research Paper Series

When hurricanes, wildfires, and other natural disasters strike, government officials must make difficult decisions under time pressure and amidst uncertainty over how best to save lives and mitigate the resulting damage to private property. Sometimes landowners who do not second-guess the appropriateness of those decisions made in exigent circumstances nonetheless insist that the government should foot the bill for the resulting destruction. In a 2025 opinion (Ablan) and a 2022 decision (Milton), both involving flooding damage resulting from Hurricane Harvey, the Federal Circuit articulated an expansive vision of government liability under the Takings Clause that can be squared with neither …

Midwestern Farmers' Willingness To Engage With Precision Agriculture Technologies And On-Farm Precision Experimentation, Reagen G. Tibbs, Nicholas J. Heller, David S. Bullock, Maria A. Boerngen

Faculty Publications - Agriculture

Precision agriculture technologies (PATs) have revolutionized the agriculture industry and provide many benefits to farmers. Among these benefits is the ability to conduct experiments in a process known as on-farm precision experimentation (OFPE). By conducting these experiments and through collaboration with researchers, crop consultants, and extension agents, farmers can learn site-specific management practices to better address challenges in their operations. However, adoption rates of these technologies have remained below 50% in the United States. Furthermore, very few studies have explored the factors that influence a farmer's decision to conduct experiments, or their willingness to collaborate with external stakeholders such as …

An Analysis Of Gustav Mahler’S Use Of The Timpani With Reference To Historical Performance Practice And Contemporary Performances Of His Works., Stephen Kelly

Research Theses

Gustav Mahler (1860–1911) held important positions in Europe and America in the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century as a conductor of operatic and symphonic repertoire. As a composer, his output spans a significant transitional period in classical music, from Romanticism to early Modernism. His life and work represents a revolutionary period of change in many developmental aspects of the modern orchestra. Changing social norms, larger concert halls, and technical developments in instrument-making all combined to alter the presentation and, as a consequence, the reception of classical music during this time. As conductor of some of the finest orchestras …

The Weaponization Of Religion, Culture, And Politics During The Troubles In Northern Ireland, Erika Holmberg

Undergraduate Symposium

From 1968-1998, Northern Ireland experienced a wave of sectarian violence known as The Troubles. During this period, the fighting between Republican and Loyalist paramilitary groups caused countless civilian casualties, economic hardship, and social turmoil. This presentation will explore how each side justified their violent actions through promotion of cultural ideals, religious division, and political manipulation. Both sides of the conflict gained and lost public support based on how they presented each of these issues, and to this day, historians are uncovering their impact.

Digitization Of The Switching Stroop Task, Keagan Duster, Delia Mozqueda-Fuhrmeister, Kesten Anderson, Molly Conway, John Piaszynski, Aaron Winder, Conor Courtney, Kanchna Ramchandran

Modern Psychological Studies

The Switching Stroop (SS) task is a modification of the neuropsychological assessment, the Color Word Interference (CWI) task, which measures inhibition of pre-potent response. Both tests measure the ability to select and match appropriate responses to a cued dimension (instruction) of a stimulus. However, the SS additionally incorporates the ability to adapt to consecutive conflicting stimuli (the construct of dynamic adjustments of control). By integrating with existing commercial software for administering remote neuropsychological tests, we were able to digitize a previously published version of the SS, enhancing user friendliness and functionality. This electronic version of the SS provides a plethora …
