The Future Of The Malay Language, Ungku Abdul Hamid Ungku Abdul Aziz Jan 2026

The Future Of The Malay Language, Ungku Abdul Hamid Ungku Abdul Aziz

Archival Material (Undated)

There is always a turning point for a language to become a popular language in the international society. Once Malay was the language of a great empire. However, Western Imperialism has destroyed the unity and the influence of the Malay language. The Malay scholars had suppressed the Malay language further for their imperialism without considering the consequences to the culture and the society. After the declaration of independence, it was the first time Malay language has been used throughout the administration and universities. New concepts and new styles were introduced into the language and the spelling system was reformed and …

Division of Cardiology Faculty Papers

PURPOSE OF REVIEW: To provide an overview of the relationship of race and ethnicity and patient-physician/clinician communication on blood pressure management.

RECENT FINDINGS: The suboptimal interactions experienced by patients from underrepresented racial and ethnic populations may be improved by enriching relationships among clinicians, population health scientists, policymakers, and community members/leaders. Current care communication and policies for managing hypertension appear to be insufficient. Implementing and disseminating effective strategies to efficiently improve the quality of hypertension care and recognize social determinants of health among minoritized populations is intertwined with enhanced communication.

SUMMARY: Approaches such as self-affirmation—encouraging patients to reflect on their strengths …

Surviving Staten Island: Black Women’S Narratives Of Resilience, Motherwork, And Embodied Trauma, Jazmin Rivera

Student Theses

This oral history dissertation centers the experiences of six Black women who had formative experiences navigating hostile school and community-based settings on Staten Island during the 1970s, 1980s, and early 1990s. Guided by a conceptual framework that draws on Black orality, Black feminist thought, and endarkened feminist epistemology, this study demonstrates how Black women were required to cross geographic and social boundaries to survive hostile conditions in Staten Island communities and schools. Findings from this study highlight Black women’s use of community cultural wealth to inform their survival strategies and resilience. At the same time, their experiences indicate the potential …

Nutritional Care For Adults With Obesity Treated With Glp-1and Dual Gip/Glp-1 Receptor Agonists: A Review Of Evidence, Gaps, And Clinical Implications, Carolina Mcguane

Department of Nutrition Student Projects

Abstract

Background:

Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) and dual glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide/glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GIP/GLP-1 RAs) have revolutionized obesity management, producing unprecedented weight loss outcomes. Their widespread use has outpaced research on nutritional implications, adverse events, and evidence-based guidance for dietitians. Given the central role of nutrition practitioners in supporting adults with obesity, understanding the mechanisms, risks, and nutrition-related outcomes of GLP-1 therapies is critical.

Methods:

A comprehensive literature search was conducted utilizing PubMed, Embase, and Google Scholar to identify relevant peer-reviewed articles on the topic of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) use and nutrition-related …

Establishing Functional Communication Responses And Mands: A Scoping Review Of Teaching Procedures And Implications For Future Investigation., Kyle W. Dawson, Amanda N. Zangrillo, Samantha J. Bryan, Rebecca J. Barall, Colin G. Wehr

Manuscripts, Articles, Book Chapters and Other Papers

The functional communication response (FCR) shares fundamental properties with the mand, with both responses linking the relevant motivating operation and the reinforcer maintaining a response. The FCR differs from the mand in that the communication response has the expressed intention of replacing challenging behavior by providing an outlet to access the same functional reinforcer. Research describes the development of mand and FCR repertoires; however, no research to date elucidates differences and similarities in how these repertoires are established. A scoping review was selected to systematically map and compare instructional procedures across FCT and mand training studies. In this scoping review, …

Hie 337 Modern Russian History, Rhiannon L. Dowling

Open Educational Resources

The 19th and 20th centuries in Russia were a time of unprecedented creation and destruction. During this period the Russian Empire—arguably the most politically backward nation in Europe—transformed into the Soviet Union—the most radical modern political experiment in history. The life of the Soviet Union is itself bookended by the two most unlikely and unexpected moments in world history: the Russian Revolution at one end, and the collapse of the Soviet empire on the other. And decades after the Soviet Union’s collapse, experts are still debating what finally precipitated the sudden death of an empire that seemed for …

In-Situ Eval: A Modular Framework For Custom And Real-Time Rag Benchmarking, Ritvik Garimella, Kaushik Roy, Chathurangi Shyalika, Amit Sheth

Publications

Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) has become the standard approach for integrating domain knowledge into Large Language Models (LLMs). However, fair comparison of RAG pipelines remains difficult: data preparation is often ad hoc, subsampling methods are opaque, parameters vary across implementations, and evaluation is fragmented. We present In-Situ Eval, a unified and reproducible framework that operationalizes the full RAG pipeline with configurable subsampling strategies and both RAG-specific and generic evaluation metrics. The platform supports two execution modes: an offline Dataset mode for evaluating precomputed outputs, and a live Retrieval mode for benchmarking RAG variants with state-of-the-art LLMs. Users can flexibly select datasets, …

Micromobility In Nyc: 2025, Mike Owen Benediktsson Phd, Xuemeng Li Phd

Publications and Research

This report offers a statistical snapshot of micromobility across the city over a three-week period in late 2025. Our team of trained researchers systematically observed over 1,700 micromobility vehicles at 155 separate intersections across the five boroughs of New York City. Our primary findings describe overall patterns in the demographics of micromobility and vehicle behavior at city intersections, and show how this behavior is shaped by variations in infrastructure as well as individual-level attributes.
