Open Pedagogy In Practice: Using Shareable Consultation Worksheets To Promote Equitable Research Learning, Stephanie E. Ard Apr 2026

Open Pedagogy In Practice: Using Shareable Consultation Worksheets To Promote Equitable Research Learning, Stephanie E. Ard

All Things Open

One-on-one library research consultations provide valuable support, but it can be challenging for students to recall everything discussed once the meeting is over. To help students continue building their skills after a session, I created a shared, editable online worksheet that captures search strategies, keywords, potential resources, and next steps in one document. Students retain access to their worksheets in Microsoft OneDrive and can choose to share them with peers, allowing the documents to function as open, reusable learning tools that support transparency, student agency, and ongoing engagement, particularly for those who may not be able to return for a …

At-Home Computational And Data Literacy For Pre-K–5 Students: A Review Of The Literature, Marc Sager, Sarah Miller, Zarek Drozda Apr 2026

At-Home Computational And Data Literacy For Pre-K–5 Students: A Review Of The Literature, Marc Sager, Sarah Miller, Zarek Drozda

Journal of Educational Research and Practice

This systematic review investigates best practices for promoting data literacy development in pre-K–5 learners, with a specific focus on caregiver involvement in at-home learning environments. A comprehensive search and screening process identified 42 studies for inclusion. The studies were analyzed to determine effective strategies for fostering early data literacy. Key findings emphasize (1) early, developmentally appropriate engagement with attention to equity; (2) core learning outcomes in computational and data literacy; (3) learning approaches integrating real-world contexts and hands-on experiences; (4) balanced use of digital tools and unplugged activities; and (5) essential parental and caregiver involvement. The review highlights integrating data …

Zenbrain: A Neuroscience-Inspired 7-Layer Memory Architecture For Autonomous Ai Systems (V5), Alexander Bering

Defensive Publications Series

TECHNICAL DISCLOSURE: ZenBrain — A Neuroscience-Inspired 7-Layer Memory Architecture for Autonomous AI Systems (v5)

This disclosure describes ZenBrain, a memory architecture for AI agents that integrates fifteen neuroscience models into seven distinct memory layers (working, short-term, episodic, semantic, procedural, core, cross-context).

Version 5 adds the Predictive Memory Architecture (PMA): six new biologically motivated components for neuromodulated memory lifecycle management. These include a four-channel NeuromodulatorEngine (dopamine/norepinephrine/serotonin/acetylcholine dynamics), a prediction-error-gated ReconsolidationEngine, TripleCopyMemory with divergent decay dynamics (fast/medium/deep copies with logarithmic deep-copy consolidation), a four-dimensional PriorityMap with amygdala fast-path, a StabilityProtector (NogoA/HDAC3 analog for memory protection), and a MetacognitiveMonitor for bias detection.

Exploring Public Elementary School Educator Perceptions Of Student Goal Setting In The Classroom, Kelly A. Trottier Apr 2026

Exploring Public Elementary School Educator Perceptions Of Student Goal Setting In The Classroom, Kelly A. Trottier

Doctor of Education Program Dissertations

The academic success of elementary (Kindergarten–Grade 8) students is closely correlated to their persistence, perseverance through challenges, and meaningful engagement in learning. The motivation crisis in today's elementary classrooms is evident through rising absenteeism, increased disengagement, and declining academic performance, exacerbated by disruptions caused by COVID-19. Goal-setting strategies have been widely recognized in fields such as business and sports for improving motivation and performance, however, how educators implement these strategies remains underexplored. The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study was to explore the lived experiences of elementary educators who implemented goal-setting strategies in their classrooms. This research was guided by …

“The Future Of Executive Power”: An Overview, Robert J. Pushaw Jr. Apr 2026

“The Future Of Executive Power”: An Overview, Robert J. Pushaw Jr.

Pepperdine Law Review

This symposium overview examines the rapid expansion of presidential power in the modern era, culminating in what the author and contributors describe as an unprecedented assertion of Article II authority during President Trump’s second term. It argues that the Constitution’s original separation-of-powers framework—designed to prioritize legislative authority and constrain the executive—has been inverted due to the growth of presidential control over foreign affairs, the administrative state, and policymaking. The article traces this shift through historical developments such as the New Deal, the rise of independent agencies, and the emergence of the “unitary executive” theory, while also analyzing recent Supreme Court …
