Feedback Literacy In Colombian High School Students: A Phenomenological Approach, Maria Eugenia Cárdenas, Marcela Valencia Serrano
Feedback Literacy In Colombian High School Students: A Phenomenological Approach, Maria Eugenia Cárdenas, Marcela Valencia Serrano
The Qualitative Report
This study aimed to understand 11th-grade students' experiences with feedback during the first thematic unit of the mathematics class. It was based on the theoretical model of feedback literacy and used a transcendental-phenomenological design to fulfill its purpose. The participants were seven students from a private school in Cali, Colombia. These students were in the first unit of the mathematics class and interviewed in depth. The data analysis had several phases: epoche, horizontalization and units of meaning, textural and structural description, and composite description. We found that students' relation to feedback was characterized by a predominantly passive-receptive role …

Discourse In Youth Organizations Functioning In Poland: Constructing A Platform For Dialogue, Magdalena Cuprjak, Celina Czech-Włodarczyk
The Qualitative Report
Our research explores the degree to which youth organizations serve as platforms for open dialogue and examines how their discourse aligns with established principles of dialogism, as articulated by van Dijk (2001), Bakhtin (1982), and the 'authentic turn' concept proposed by Ostrowska (2017). In conducting this study, we anticipated finding variability in communication styles, expecting that some organizations—particularly those affiliated with the Polish Council of Youth Organizations (PROM)—would promote more inclusive, dialogic interactions. Conversely, we suspected that groups outside PROM, especially nationalist organizations like the All-Polish Youth, might display more exclusionary or ideologically driven messaging. Our expectations were rooted in …

Drug theophylline is a bronchodilator used to treat asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), but precise monitoring is required to avoid side effects. Therefore, this study aimed to develop a screen-printed electrode (SPE) modified with a composite of green-synthesized silver nanoparticles and boron-doped diamond nanoparticles using tea polyphenols (Ag-BDDTP/SPE) for detecting theophylline. Formation of AgNPs was confirmed by UV-Vis spectroscopy, which showed a localized surface plasmon resonance peak at ~450 nm. Transmission electron microscopy revealed polydisperse nanoparticles with an average diameter of 39.94 nm. During the electrochemical detection of theophylline, square-wave voltammetry (SWV) was employed to evaluate signal-to-background (S/B) …

Building Trustworthy Information Systems: A Unified Framework For Comparative Risk Detection, Parisa Momeni
Building Trustworthy Information Systems: A Unified Framework For Comparative Risk Detection, Parisa Momeni
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Risk detection in large scale information systems increasingly depends on heterogeneous data generatedby both centralized and distributed ecosystems. While centralized systems provide curated and validated reports, distributed environments produce large-scale and real-time observational evidence. Existing computational approaches analyze these ecosystems in isolation, limiting systematic comparison of risk repre-sentations across heterogeneous sources.
This dissertation presents a unified computational framework for comparative risk detection across centralized and distributed information systems. The framework provides a domain independent methodology for transforming heterogeneous risk reporting data into comparable multidimensional representations. To enable interpretable comparison of heterogeneous risk distributions, this work introduces the Geometric Overlap Score …
Seeing Around Corners: An Indirect Light Transport Decomposition Framework For Fusing Physics And Learned Priors, Fadlullah Raji
Seeing Around Corners: An Indirect Light Transport Decomposition Framework For Fusing Physics And Learned Priors, Fadlullah Raji
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Non-line-of-sight (NLOS) imaging, or seeing around corners, is the ability to recover information about objects hidden from direct view and remains one of the most compelling challenges in computational imaging. Existing approaches fall broadly into two categories: active and passive. Active time-resolved methods achieve impressive performance but require specialized pulsed laser hardware and ultrafast detectors, making them expensive and limited by slow measurement acquisition. Passive NLOS methods, which instead exploit the subtle soft shadows (penumbrae) cast by a hidden scene onto a visible matte surface, have recently emerged as a practical alternative. However, existing passive approaches are largely limited to …

Decolonizing International Law, Modirzadeh’S Critique, And Homework For Islamic International Law Scholarship: An Attasian Approach, Fajri Matahati Muhammadin, Rafsi Azzam Hibatullah Albar
Indonesian Journal of International Law
Naz Khatoon Modirzadeh published an article criticizing the Third World Approaches to International Law (TWAIL) movement for its purported inability to achieve its purpose as a response to one of the major international law decolonization projects. One of her criticisms is that TWAIL lacks a cohesive counter-vision of international law, actual representation of third-world views, and organized political movements. Within the heavily diverse (which is one of the problems) TWAIL camp, among others, is the voice of Islamic law. Most Muslim nations have been at the receiving end of the brute force of colonialism. Colonialism is, in fact, responsible for …

The Role Of National Recapitalization Funds In Sovereign Lending, Elena Gabriela Olariu, Konstantina Panagopoulou Perez
Journal of Financial Crises
The Global Financial Crisis of 2007–2009 showed that a substantial portion of funds borrowed by a state from a lender of last resort may be allocated to bank recapitalization. While national recapitalization funds are not themselves borrowers, they play a key role in recovery operations. This article analyses how lenders, such as the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) and the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF), incorporate recapitalization funds into their lending framework and how they deal with extraordinary events, such as corporate transformations or liquidation of these funds. To do this, we formulate three key principles that a lender may consider …

Samurai In The Arctic - Turbulent Flux Measurements Across The Marginal Ice Zone From R/V Kronprins Haakon, Frederike S. Möller, Stephan T. Kral, Alexander Seeling, Joachim Reuder
ISARRA 2026
The turbulent heat exchange across the marginal ice zone (MIZ) is characterized by substantial flux gradients between open water and solid ice. Near polynyas and leads, existing bulk flux approaches break down, leading to unreliable flux estimates. Direct turbulent flux measurements across the MIZ remain sparse; existing measurement approaches, such as eddy-covariance systems, are either static and logistically impractical (ice-deployed) or suffer from flow distortion (ship-borne). Neither approach can systematically sample fluxes across varying ice conditions within one campaign.

Cfd Analysis Of Atmospheric Boundary Layer Measurements On Planetary Rotorcraft, Jackson Asiatico, Ralph Lorenz, Michael Kinzel
ISARRA 2026
The Dragonfly mission will deploy a rotorcraft lander equipped with the Dragonfly Geophysics and Meteorology Package (DraGMet) to explore Titan’s surface and atmosphere through measurements of wind velocity, pressure, temperature, and atmospheric conditions. However, the vehicle’s bluff body geometry presents a challenge common amongst UAS atmospheric measurements, as flow disturbances around the lander create directionally dependent sensor biases. This study employs high-fidelity computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to characterize measurement errors in DraGMet’s meteorological sensor suite. Simulations were conducted across multiple azimuthal wind angles, extracting velocity data at fixed sensor locations and computing wall shear stress distributions across the vehicle …

Learning-Based Flow Prediction For Autonomous Soaring: From Physics-Informed To Graph Neural Networks, Sweety Sarker, Brendon Cavainolo, Michael P. Kinzel
ISARRA 2026
Real time estimation of local atmospheric flow can be useful for gliders to improve flight performance. Traditional methods for atmospheric state estimation rely on costly sensor arrays, computationally expensive CFD simulations, or estimations based on experience. All of these approaches can be successful, but present challenges. An emerging methodology from the Machine learning (ML) front involves Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs), which are a data efficient machine learning methods that reconstruct the flow field (velocity, pressure, and turbulence) from a combination of constraints from the governing equations combined with sensor data. Through combining physical governing equations with sparse measurements, the neural …

Modeling And Analysis Of Restoration Control In Parallel Microsource Inverters: A Case Study, Sameer Bhambri, Vivek Shrivastava, Manoj Kumawat
Yanbu Journal of Engineering and Science
The paper suggests a method/strategy to compensate the deviations in the system frequency and output voltage, caused by an inverter output impedance, droop coefficients terms and amplifier gain in the RDC (robust droop control) model of single phase inverter. The compensation is acquired through adopting a TDC (transient droop characteristics) enabled droop control. The suggested technique, to achieve proportionate power sharing, nominal output voltage and frequency at steady state, is applied to a communication-less system of two parallel microsource inverters. The small signal model and eigenvalue analysis are used to characterize the virtual resistor selection criteria in the inverter control …
