Light-Driven Zonation And Community Structure Of Aerophytic Microalgae In A Tropical Limestone Cave (Gua Tempurung, Malaysia), Wan Maznah Wan Omar, Mohammad Basri Eshak, Luthfiana Aprilianita Sari, Zulaihat Hamza Abdullahi, Yusuf Abdullahi Jun 2026

Light-Driven Zonation And Community Structure Of Aerophytic Microalgae In A Tropical Limestone Cave (Gua Tempurung, Malaysia), Wan Maznah Wan Omar, Mohammad Basri Eshak, Luthfiana Aprilianita Sari, Zulaihat Hamza Abdullahi, Yusuf Abdullahi

International Journal of Speleology

Cave ecosystems host specialized phototrophic biofilms structured primarily by light availability, yet quantitative assessments of aerophytic microalgal community organization in tropical limestone caves remain limited. This study investigated spatial variation in the structure of aerophytic microalgal communities across four ecologically distinct zones (entrance, transition, penetration, and low light) of Gua Tempurung, Malaysia. Stratified sampling was conducted during three seasonal periods. Dominant phototrophic morphospecies were identified using microscopy, and community composition was analyzed in relation to key environmental variables. Twenty-three dominant microalgal morphospecies were recorded across the cave gradient. Cyanobacteria constituted the major component of both richness and abundance, followed by …

Sram-Packed Multi-Leaky-Bucket Rate Limiter With Timer-Tick Scrubbing, Pipelined Read-Modify-Write Forwarding, And Csr Priority Escalation, Anonymous Jun 2026

Sram-Packed Multi-Leaky-Bucket Rate Limiter With Timer-Tick Scrubbing, Pipelined Read-Modify-Write Forwarding, And Csr Priority Escalation, Anonymous

Defensive Publications Series

A hardware leaky-bucket rate limiter stores multiple bucket entries per SRAM row and accesses the SRAM using a unified pipeline that selects per cycle exactly one of a posted traffic request, a timer-driven scrub operation, or a CSR access. Request metadata is pipelined for SRAM read latency and updates are performed using read-modify-write. A conflict detector with forwarding supplies a most-recent-value view when a row is accessed again before a prior update is observable, avoiding lost updates. Scrub is driven by a programmable timer tick and supports per-bucket refill rates using a scrub frequency counter; an error indication asserts when …

Recoverable Multimedia Export With Pre-Export Validation And Element-Level Automated Remediation, Anonymous Jun 2026

Recoverable Multimedia Export With Pre-Export Validation And Element-Level Automated Remediation, Anonymous

Defensive Publications Series

Techniques are disclosed for recoverable multimedia export using pre-export validation and element-level automated remediation. A validation engine traverses a composition graph before an export pipeline begins and checks referenced elements such as media assets, audio tracks, fonts, effects, filters, LUTs, and external resources for existence, decodability or integrity, permissions, compatibility, dependencies, and license validity. A structured validation report identifies each problematic element with a failure type and severity and provides remediation options. A user interface presents the report prior to export, including per-issue detail and a fix-all control, and accepts user overrides. A remediation engine applies selected actions such as …

Simpson's Paradox Detection And Granularity-Adaptive Behavioral Curve Estimation For Recommendation Systems, Anonymous Jun 2026

Simpson's Paradox Detection And Granularity-Adaptive Behavioral Curve Estimation For Recommendation Systems, Anonymous

Defensive Publications Series

Systems and methods are described for exposure-response behavioral curve estimation in recommendation systems with detection of aggregation artifacts consistent with Simpson’s paradox. Interaction logs are used to fit a behavioral curve model at multiple granularities, including individual and aggregate levels, and to compute peak locations. A distortion factor and severity score quantify divergence between aggregate and individual peak parameters and can trigger a paradox determination. A per-user peaked-behavior classifier is null-calibrated by generating synthetic sequences from a fitted monotonic model to estimate a null false-positive rate and adjust decision thresholds. A granularity-adaptive selector chooses among individual, cohort, and aggregate models …

Computational Vertical Binocular Disparity Calibration Method For Augmented Reality Displays With Perceptual Tolerance-Based Statistical Assessment, Anonymous Jun 2026

Computational Vertical Binocular Disparity Calibration Method For Augmented Reality Displays With Perceptual Tolerance-Based Statistical Assessment, Anonymous

Defensive Publications Series

Techniques are described for calibrating vertical binocular disparity (VBD) in optical see-through augmented reality displays using two independent measurements rather than direct perceptual display-to-background alignment. A background VBD (bg_vbd) for the see-through optical path and a display-to-display VBD (display_vbd) between left and right display channels are measured, and a correction offset is computed as offset = bg_vbd - display_vbd. The offset is applied to one or both display channels to reduce relative VBD between displayed content and background toward approximately zero. A statistical framework assesses calibration quality by propagating measurement uncertainties (e.g., s_offset = sqrt(s_bg^2 + s_display^2)), optionally including display …

Context-Guided Ai Data Activation Control System With Policy-Constrained Planning And Validation-Gated Export, Anonymous Jun 2026

Context-Guided Ai Data Activation Control System With Policy-Constrained Planning And Validation-Gated Export, Anonymous

Defensive Publications Series

A data activation control plane receives destination-side account or tenant context and a policy grant for a source environment. The policy grant is compiled into a policy-scoped planning interface that constrains tools and schema metadata available to a planning model and prevents access to raw source values. Based on the bounded destination-side context and the policy-scoped source surface, the planning model proposes a candidate activation. The control plane compiles the proposal into a structured activation plan identifying output fields, source paths, transforms, and destination parameters. A source-local validator validates the plan within the source environment, optionally including dry-run execution and …

Distributed Reconfigurable Logic Cells For Zero-Respin Post-Tapeout Silicon Defect Recovery, Anonymous Jun 2026

Distributed Reconfigurable Logic Cells For Zero-Respin Post-Tapeout Silicon Defect Recovery, Anonymous

Defensive Publications Series

Distributed reconfigurable logic cells are integrated across a system-on-chip and/or multi-chiplet package to enable post-tapeout remediation of defects in hardened circuitry without redesign. Small micro-FPGA cells are placed proximate to selected hardened IP blocks and coupled via local interfaces and steering circuitry. After fabrication, a configuration controller programs one or more proximate cells at boot time and/or runtime with remedial logic that replaces, augments, or bypasses defective behavior, and activates routing/steering to apply the fix. Unused cells may be power-gated or clock-gated to reduce static and dynamic power. The cells may also be repurposed for debug, test, monitoring, security patches, …

Adaptive Real-Time Video Communication With Latency-Aware Codec Selection And Asymmetric Codec Design, Anonymous Jun 2026

Adaptive Real-Time Video Communication With Latency-Aware Codec Selection And Asymmetric Codec Design, Anonymous

Defensive Publications Series

Techniques for adaptive real-time video communication are described. A device capability classifier, optionally based on a machine-learning model, determines codec eligibility beyond static device attributes. During a session, an endpoint measures encoding latency to adjust encoder complexity presets and to switch from a higher-complexity codec to a lower-complexity codec when real-time criteria are not satisfied. A receiving endpoint measures decoding latency and can signal the sender to change codec or configuration responsive to receiver-side performance. The techniques also support asymmetric operation in which an endpoint transmits using a first codec while receiving using a second codec. Additionally, temporal layering is …

Routing Stability In Co-Evolving Machine Learning And Language Model Decision Systems, Anonymous Jun 2026

Routing Stability In Co-Evolving Machine Learning And Language Model Decision Systems, Anonymous

Defensive Publications Series

Techniques are described for routing stability in co-evolving decision systems that combine a machine-learning (ML) model and a large language model (LLM). A routing controller selects, per case, whether to use the ML tier, the LLM tier, or optionally human review. A pre-invocation economic gate permits an LLM call when expected economic value of improved decision quality exceeds LLM cost. After an LLM output is generated, a post-invocation epistemic gate calibrates the likelihood the output is wrong using a learned model conditioned on case features and evaluation signals, and selectively accepts or falls back. High-confidence accepted LLM outputs are used …

Stochastic Codebook Nearest-Neighbor Decoding For Robust Digital Watermark Recovery, Anonymous Jun 2026

Stochastic Codebook Nearest-Neighbor Decoding For Robust Digital Watermark Recovery, Anonymous

Defensive Publications Series

Systems and methods are disclosed for recovering invisible digital watermark messages from modified media using database-backed nearest-neighbor decoding. An embedding subsystem generates an n-bit binary message sampled uniformly at random, embeds the message into a media item using a watermark encoder, and stores an association between the message and a content identifier in a message database. A decoding subsystem extracts a noisy n-bit message from a candidate media item, performs a Hamming-distance nearest-neighbor search over stored messages to obtain a closest stored message and distance, and applies threshold-based decision logic to determine a match. A two-threshold policy may trigger optional …

Provenance-Bound Per-File Pseudonymisation Tokens And Field-Role-Aware Routing For Privacy- Preserving Use Of Cloud Large Language Models, Tiago Rosado Jun 2026

Provenance-Bound Per-File Pseudonymisation Tokens And Field-Role-Aware Routing For Privacy- Preserving Use Of Cloud Large Language Models, Tiago Rosado

Defensive Publications Series

This document discloses two co-operating mechanisms for preserving privacy when documents are processed by a cloud-hosted large language model (LLM) through a security gateway. The first mechanism is a **provenance-bound, per-file pseudonymisation token**: each detected sensitive value in a source document is replaced, before egress to the cloud LLM, with an opaque token derived by truncating a keyed hash (HMAC-SHA-256 under a deployment secret) of the concatenation of (i) the cryptographic hash of the *entire source document* and (ii) the value itself. Because the per-file salt is the source-document hash, the same value produces *different* tokens in different documents — …

Single-Use Capability-Handle Binding Of A Re-Identification Correspondence Map, With Role-Scoped Step-Up-Gated Reveal And Handle-As-Authenticated-Data, For Reversible Pseudonymisation At An Llm Security Gateway, Tiago Rosado Jun 2026

Single-Use Capability-Handle Binding Of A Re-Identification Correspondence Map, With Role-Scoped Step-Up-Gated Reveal And Handle-As-Authenticated-Data, For Reversible Pseudonymisation At An Llm Security Gateway, Tiago Rosado

Defensive Publications Series

This document discloses how to govern access to the **re-identification correspondence map** produced when a security gateway reversibly pseudonymises sensitive values before sending a document to a cloud large language model (LLM) and restores them on the response path. The correspondence map — the token-to-value mapping — **is** the data-protection re-identification key (the GDPR Article 4(5) "additional information" that turns pseudonymous tokens back into personal data); it is the most sensitive artefact in the round-trip, and the established round-trip (tokenise on egress, hold an encrypted short-lived mapping, restore on response) does not, by itself, govern *who may reverse it and …

Tiered-Boot Capability Kernel For An Ai-Agent Platform, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao Jun 2026

Tiered-Boot Capability Kernel For An Ai-Agent Platform, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao

Defensive Publications Series

Large AI-agent platforms aggregate dozens to hundreds of interdependent modules spanning operating-system services, an AI-inference runtime, and business domains. A conventional monolith or undifferentiated plugin host gives no guarantee that such a platform boots deterministically, fails fast on an unmet dependency, or remains operable and manageable when AI or business logic is absent or broken. Critically, when the heavy, fast-iterating AI runtime crashes during startup, it frequently takes the entire process down with it — including the very health endpoint operators need to diagnose the failure. This publication describes a boot architecture that resolves the problem through three combined mechanisms. …

Per-Route Fail-Closed Multi-Provider Llm Routing, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao Jun 2026

Per-Route Fail-Closed Multi-Provider Llm Routing, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao

Defensive Publications Series

Modern AI platforms funnel all inference through a single multi-provider gateway so that provider credentials, model allow-lists, cost telemetry, and policy resolve in one place. The default reliability posture of such a gateway is to fail open: if the requested model/provider is unreachable, the gateway silently substitutes a cheaper or different model so the call still returns. For general chat this is correct — availability beats fidelity. For high-stakes governance decisions (an LLM-as-judge that certifies mastery, scores an assessment, or gates a release) silently re-basing the decision onto an unvalidated, cheaper, or differently-aligned model is a correctness/safety defect, not graceful …

Capability-Scoped Task Envelopes With Reserved-File Token Broker For Concurrent Ai Coding Agents, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao Jun 2026

Capability-Scoped Task Envelopes With Reserved-File Token Broker For Concurrent Ai Coding Agents, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao

Defensive Publications Series

When several heterogeneous AI code-generation agents write to one shared repository concurrently, branch isolation plus post-hoc merge does not bound per-agent scope and does not prevent reserved-file races on a small set of high-blast-radius files. This publication describes a method that addresses both failures with one coherent mechanism.

A planner classifies each natural-language change request into a kind (create, modify, debug, migrate, deploy, read-only) and a risk label, then emits one or more task envelopes. Each envelope carries a declarative capability budget — allow_paths, deny_paths, max_files_changed, max_lines_changed, and may_add_dependencies — plus an agent-role assignment, required reserved-file tokens, required CI checks, …

Sleep-Gated Dream Memory Consolidation For Ai Personas, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao Jun 2026

Sleep-Gated Dream Memory Consolidation For Ai Personas, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao

Defensive Publications Series

Large language models (LLMs) are stateless across turns. A long-running AI persona — a digital worker that acts all day across email, chat, documents, CRM, voice, tasks, code, bugs, calendar, and autonomous agent runs — therefore begins every new turn with no durable memory of what it did. Two naive remedies fail at scale: (a) always-on summarization competes with interactive serving for the same scarce GPU/token budget, inflating the cost and latency of the work users wait on; and (b) per-conversation memory schemes capture only a single chat stream, never the whole cross-application workday.

This publication discloses a system and …

Idle-Triggered Curiosity Engine For Ai Agents, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao Jun 2026

Idle-Triggered Curiosity Engine For Ai Agents, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao

Defensive Publications Series

Autonomous, reactive AI agents — chat assistants, cognitive personas, and tool-using agents driven by a perceive–reason–act loop — sit idle whenever no message, task, or event is pending. That idle time wastes provisioned compute (GPU/CPU and a held model context) and, more importantly, forfeits opportunities for the agent to do useful proactive work: revisiting stale goals, summarizing accumulated context, learning a new skill, or surfacing a forgotten follow-up. Naively filling idle time with background activity is dangerous: undisciplined background tasks compete with reactive work, repeat themselves, and fire when their preconditions are not met.

This publication discloses an Idle-Triggered Curiosity …

Resource-Provider Rbac For Multi-Domain Ai Platforms, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao Jun 2026

Resource-Provider Rbac For Multi-Domain Ai Platforms, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao

Defensive Publications Series

Flat role-based access control — admin / user / viewer — does not scale to a platform hosting many independently-developed domains (CRM, communications, finance, documents, AI personas) that appear and disappear at runtime and share resources across domain boundaries. Hardcoding a capability map forces a code deploy for every new permission; scattering per-domain access-control lists duplicates safety-critical logic and drifts. This publication describes a resource-provider RBAC model for AI-agent platforms in which each domain module registers its own resource catalogue at boot — resource types, each with a set of actions and a schema — into a central registry. Every …

Two-Tier Attention Queue With Amortized Triage, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao Jun 2026

Two-Tier Attention Queue With Amortized Triage, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao

Defensive Publications Series

An autonomous agent backed by a large language model (LLM) frequently receives inputs in bursts: two hundred emails delivered at once, a flood of webhook events, a queue of chat messages that arrived during a network partition. The dominant cost in processing such a burst is triage — the act of classifying each input into a type and a priority so the agent knows what to do with it. When triage itself invokes the LLM, a burst of N inputs produces N LLM calls before any useful work begins, a thundering-herd that spikes token spend and latency in lock-step with …

Hybrid Rag Ranking With Graceful Llm Fallback, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao Jun 2026

Hybrid Rag Ranking With Graceful Llm Fallback, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao

Defensive Publications Series

Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines increasingly insert a language-model (LLM) re-ranking stage between candidate retrieval and answer synthesis, because LLM re-rankers materially improve the ordering of retrieved passages. But LLM re-rankers are slow, costly, rate-limited, and intermittently unavailable. The naive integration — retrieve, then await the LLM re-ranker, then return — promotes the slow, failure-prone stage onto the critical path. End-to-end retrieval latency, availability, and cost all become hostage to the LLM provider: one provider timeout or one tripped spend cap converts a sub-100 ms retrieval into a multi-second failure or an outage.

This publication describes a hybrid ranking architecture that …

Unified Multi-Channel Messaging History, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao Jun 2026

Unified Multi-Channel Messaging History, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao

Defensive Publications Series

An AI agent that converses with the same person across several messaging providers — WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Discord — conventionally keeps one message history per provider. When a contact moves between channels the agent loses continuity: the earlier exchange is in another store, behind another code path, keyed by another identity. The two common remedies both fail: a table-per-provider design forces a schema migration every time a new channel is onboarded, and a lowest-common-denominator schema discards the provider-specific fields (Discord guild id, WhatsApp template id, Telegram thread id) that the agent later needs.

This publication discloses a design that resolves …

Dynamic Confidence Bands Per Action Type, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao Jun 2026

Dynamic Confidence Bands Per Action Type, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao

Defensive Publications Series

AI agents acting on a user's behalf — sending email, posting chat replies, creating tasks, calling tools, delegating to sub-agents — must decide, for each action, whether to act autonomously, escalate for a quick check, or hold for full human review. The prevailing mechanism is a single static confidence threshold ("auto-send if confidence > 0.8"), hand-tuned by operators. A single threshold is brittle: it cannot distinguish a low-stakes chat reply from a high-stakes external email; it does not adapt as the agent demonstrates competence (or begins to fail); and it forces every action type through one gate.

This publication discloses a …

Environmental Tolerances And Habitat Association Of Three Endemic Crayfish Species In Texas, Andrew Walker Jun 2026

Environmental Tolerances And Habitat Association Of Three Endemic Crayfish Species In Texas, Andrew Walker

Biology Theses

Little is known about many of the 52 crayfish species in Texas. This thesis investigates physiological tolerances of three species endemic to the Jackson Vale ecoregion of Southeast Texas, the Bastrop crayfish (Procambarus texanus), Nueces crayfish (Procambarus nueces), and the Fayette’s crayfish (Procambarus fayettei) as well as the White River crayfish (Procambarus acutus), which is ubiquitous throughout East Texas. Thermal, hypoxia, and acidity tolerances were tested on wild caught individuals through laboratory assays. Findings from this study will inform wildlife managers of future conservation strategies relating to these endemic species.
