What Works For Dyslexia Training? A Comparative Study Of Three Professional Development Approaches For Elementary General Education Teachers, Kayla Steltenkamp
What Works For Dyslexia Training? A Comparative Study Of Three Professional Development Approaches For Elementary General Education Teachers, Kayla Steltenkamp
Kentucky Teacher Education Journal: The Journal of the Teacher Education Division of the Kentucky Council for Exceptional Children
Teachers are the foundational component of the educational system, yet many enter the classroom without adequate knowledge of dyslexia -- a specific learning disability affecting up to 17.5% of the student population. Despite growing legislative mandates requiring teacher training on dyslexia, recent research confirms that misconceptions and knowledge gaps persist among both preservice and inservice teachers, and the question of which professional development models most effectively address those gaps remains largely unanswered. This study compared three two-hour professional development approaches -- simulation only, lecture only, and a mixed-method combining both -- using a quasi-experimental, pre-test/post-test design with 58 elementary general …

Completeness-Flagged Directory Reconciliation With Adds-Only Degradation And Dual Revoke Rails, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Completeness-Flagged Directory Reconciliation With Adds-Only Degradation And Dual Revoke Rails, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
This document discloses, in enabling detail, a computer-implemented method and system for reconciling an external identity-directory group (for example an Entra/Azure AD or LDAP security group) into a local authorization store while remaining fail-closed under partial data. The central mechanism derives a single boolean completeness verdict from the paging protocol itself — the act of following continuation tokens to exhaustion — rather than from the magnitude of the change the reconcile would produce. Any page fault, timeout, malformed page, or continuation overrun poisons the verdict to incomplete. The reconciler then degrades asymmetrically: additive membership grants are always applied, but every …

Application Of Assistive Technologies And Rendering Assistive Services To Students With Special Needs By Federal University Libraries: A Survey, Emmanuel Chidiadi Onwubiko
Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
The world as of today, is being said to be witnessing what one may tagged a technological revolution as never before and is transforming for the better, the future of global education in which case, every learner is considered. These newly created technological tools and plans did place librarians as information managers and digital literacy drivers in better position to come up with environments that are inclusive for all learners to achieve their desired goals. The study therefore is a survey on the application of assistive technologies and rendering assistive services to students with special needs by federal universities libraries …
Generalized Transaction-Local Provenance-Marker Single-Writer Column Enforcement With Co-Designed Forgery Scanner And Non-Vacuity Red-Team, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Generalized Transaction-Local Provenance-Marker Single-Writer Column Enforcement With Co-Designed Forgery Scanner And Non-Vacuity Red-Team, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
This document discloses, enables, and dedicates to the public a generalized database-integrity primitive together with its co-designed hardening. The primitive makes a protected state column writable only by a transaction that has, within the same transaction, appended a matching row to an append-only decision log. The linkage is realized without any application-level privilege: an AFTER INSERT trigger on the log writes a transaction-local marker (PostgreSQL setconfig(..., TRUE)) encoding the exact subject tuple and outcome just logged, delimited by the ASCII Unit Separator (chr(31)); a BEFORE UPDATE guard on the protected column raises an exception unless a same-transaction marker exists whose …
Self-Converging Multi-Ledger Migration Runner With Ambiguity-Preserving Collision Re-Application, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Self-Converging Multi-Ledger Migration Runner With Ambiguity-Preserving Collision Re-Application, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
This publication discloses, enables, and dates a schema-migration runner whose defining property is self-convergence under ledger drift. Established migration tools — Flyway, Liquibase, Alembic, Rails ActiveRecord, Django — model migration history as a single authoritative table and treat any divergence between that table and the on-disk migration set as an error state that halts deployment or demands a manual repair/stamp/clearCheckSums intervention. The disclosed runner instead computes the applied set as the union of multiple heterogeneous ledgers (a canonical full-filename ledger, zero or more legacy full-filename ledgers, and a numeric-only hand-applied ledger), and treats a specific class of drift — a …
Parallel Multi-Persona Deliberation With A Measured-Token Circuit Breaker And Degrade-To-Best-Single, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Parallel Multi-Persona Deliberation With A Measured-Token Circuit Breaker And Degrade-To-Best-Single, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
This document discloses, as public prior art, an orchestration mechanism that consults the top-N ranked personas (or agents) of a multi-agent AI system concurrently, and then decides whether to execute a costly downstream synthesis stage on the basis of the actual number of prompt and completion tokens the parallel round has already consumed — a quantity measured after the calls return, not estimated before they are issued. Each per-persona consultation runs under an independent Promise.race deadline; a failed or timed-out consultation resolves to a structured, zero-token record rather than throwing, so the orchestrator can always compute a complete per-persona ledger. …
Taint-Triggered Turn-Scoped Tool Downgrade With Attachment-To-Execution Provenance Audit, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Taint-Triggered Turn-Scoped Tool Downgrade With Attachment-To-Execution Provenance Audit, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
This document discloses, and thereby places into the public domain as enabling prior art, a mechanism that contains prompt-injection-to-remote-code-execution in tool-using AI agents that accept untrusted document and image attachments. The core control is turn-granular: any conversational turn that introduces a new untrusted attachment is automatically downgraded to read/vision-only for that turn alone — the mutating tools (writefile, editfile, generatefile, runcommand) are hard-denied regardless of the caller's role, and re-enabled automatically on the next attachment-free turn. Three further specifics harden the loop: (1) the untrusted-content taint envelope is re-applied on every history re-hydration, so a poisoned block can never shed …
Two-Clock Fail-Closed Entitlement Engine, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Two-Clock Fail-Closed Entitlement Engine, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
Software licensing systems that support offline operation face a structural tension: the same cached credential that lets a product keep running during a licensor-side outage also lets a revoked customer keep running. Conventional stacks resolve this by coupling the cached-token lifetime to the grace window, producing a fail-open tail as long as the grace period — often days. This disclosure describes a two-clock, fail-closed entitlement engine that decouples the two concerns. An availability grace clock lives server-side on the activation row and is refreshed per heartbeat; a separate revocation clock is a signer-enforced offline-token TTL (≤24 hours) whose ceiling the …
Atomic Crypto-Shred With Trigger-Immutable Audit-Ledger Preservation And Machine-Verifiable Zero-Orphan-Pii Proof, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Atomic Crypto-Shred With Trigger-Immutable Audit-Ledger Preservation And Machine-Verifiable Zero-Orphan-Pii Proof, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
This document discloses, enablingly and with dated priority, a database-layer mechanism that reconciles two requirements normally in direct tension: the data subject's right to erasure (GDPR Article 17; the COPPA parental deletion right for children's data) and the integrity of a trigger-enforced append-only audit ledger whose rows must never be updated or deleted. The mechanism performs, in one database transaction for one subject: (1) a crypto-shred of a per-subject key row — the key material is set to NULL while a keyref tombstone survives; (2) a manifest-driven purge of every plaintext PII surface, capturing each surface's row count before the …
License-Anchored Llm Capability Governor With Ordinal Down-Only Route Clamp And Tri-Plane Enforcement, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
License-Anchored Llm Capability Governor With Ordinal Down-Only Route Clamp And Tri-Plane Enforcement, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
This publication discloses, in enabling detail, a License-Anchored LLM Capability Governor: a system that governs which large-language-model any principal (a human user or an autonomous persona/agent) may cause to run, by resolving exactly one entitlement lever — a license tier — into a concrete model, and then enforcing that resolution wherever a model can be selected. Resolution walks a fixed precedence (per-principal override → role-exception regex → license-to-tier map → legacy role map → global default) and passes through an ordinal capability ladder so that models become comparable, not merely listed. The resolved model is then clamped to the physical …
Capability-Gate-First Cost-Optimal Llm Task Router With Monotone Hard-Capability Taint, Dif-Fairness-Governed Escalation, And Cheapest-Allowed Self-Clamp, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Capability-Gate-First Cost-Optimal Llm Task Router With Monotone Hard-Capability Taint, Dif-Fairness-Governed Escalation, And Cheapest-Allowed Self-Clamp, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
This document discloses, in enabling detail, a method and system for selecting, on a per-turn basis, which large language model (LLM) answers a given request in a multi-model deployment. The distinguishing property is that capability feasibility is a hard gate evaluated strictly before any cost or difficulty optimization, and a budget is structurally unable to override a capability-forced selection. A four-stage task assessor emits a set of required capability primitives (tooluse, vision, longcontext) under a monotone taint invariant: each later stage may raise, but never lower, a hard requirement detected by an earlier stage, while websearch is deliberately kept soft …
Fail-Closed, Persona-Scoped Dlp Egress Policy Engine With Classification-Conditional Provider Steering, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Fail-Closed, Persona-Scoped Dlp Egress Policy Engine With Classification-Conditional Provider Steering, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
This document discloses, with sufficient detail to enable a person of ordinary skill in the art to build it, an egress data-loss-prevention (DLP) policy engine that decides what outbound text an autonomous AI system is permitted to transmit to third-party language-model providers. The engine's distinguishing characteristic is that each policy is scoped jointly by three orthogonal dimensions — the internal pipeline route, the identity of the originating AI persona, and the human user role — and that a single first-match decision returns both a content action (allow, redact, block) and the provider that may receive the resulting text. Policies are …
Ivr-To-Realtime Anti-Language-Drift Session-Instruction Injection, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Ivr-To-Realtime Anti-Language-Drift Session-Instruction Injection, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
A realtime conversational voice LLM tends to mirror the language of its conversation history and of the caller's most recent utterance. When such an agent is reached through a preceding DTMF interactive-voice-response (IVR) menu in which the caller has explicitly selected a language ("press 2 for French"), two structural facts conspire to lose that selection: the IVR subsystem and the realtime-voice subsystem are two disjoint processes joined only by a stateless HTTP redirect, and the realtime model's mirroring tendency silently overrides a one-time greeting in the chosen language. This publication discloses a mechanism with two cooperating parts. First, a language …
Heuristic Capability-To-Rbac Translator With Dual-Read Shadow Evaluation, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Heuristic Capability-To-Rbac Translator With Dual-Read Shadow Evaluation, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
A platform that began with a flat set of boolean capabilities (CANUSELLM, CANMANAGEUSERS, …) and a few flat roles must eventually migrate to fine-grained, scoped RBAC where permissions are domain:resource:action tuples and roles are wildcard-composable pattern sets. The conventional path is a hand-maintained translation table plus a flag-day cutover, both of which are labor-intensive and risky: a single mis-mapping is a production outage or a silent privilege escalation. This publication discloses a mechanism that (1) heuristically translates each legacy capability into a fine-grained permission — explicit override map first, then a structural parse of the CAN

When Even A Struggling Missionary Becomes The Hero, Yoshihiko Ariizumi
When Even A Struggling Missionary Becomes The Hero, Yoshihiko Ariizumi
Learning, Teaching, & Researching Optimization
Guiding a struggling missionary back toward wellbeing—through one-on-one counseling and similar interventions—is demanding work that requires significant time and effort. I can only imagine how much of a mission president's already limited time is consumed by this kind of support, making it that much harder to fulfill the broader responsibility of leading an entire mission.
Yet this kind of one-on-one intervention has a drawback that is easy to overlook: it tends to keep the missionary receiving support permanently cast in the role of "the one being helped." As a result, the strength that already lies within that missionary often goes …
Prediction Model Of Green Grape Water Loss Rate Based On Multi-Model Soft Voting Fusion, Fan Gai, Jing Min, Ji Feng, Ma Maosen, Yao Xiaomin
Prediction Model Of Green Grape Water Loss Rate Based On Multi-Model Soft Voting Fusion, Fan Gai, Jing Min, Ji Feng, Ma Maosen, Yao Xiaomin
Food and Machinery
[Objective] This study aims to achieve rapid and non-destructive detection of the water loss rate in green grapes, control losses, and ensure quality. Based on an LED-induced fluorescence spectroscopy system, a prediction method combining collected spectral data with a multi-model soft voting fusion approach was proposed for green grape water loss rate estimation. [Methods] Spectral data from 100 green grape samples were collected. Preprocessing was performed using multivariate scatter correction (MSC), standard normal variate transformation (SNV), normalization, and Savitzky–Golay (SG) filtering. Feature wavelength selection was carried out using the successive projections algorithm. Based on this, prediction models for the green …

A Multi-Defect Detection System Based On Improved Yolov 8s And Morphological Features For Fragrant Pear Grading, Wang Jinkai, Wu Chenchen, Cheng Rouxin, Wu Rentao
Food and Machinery
[Objective] To address the high missed detection rate of defective fruits and poor grading accuracy in current post-harvest fragrant pear sorting. [Methods] On the basis of an existing visual inspection system for fragrant pears, a machine vision detection system integrating an improved YOLOv8s algorithm and multi-dimensional morphological features is designed. An ECA attention module is introduced to enhance the model sensitivity to subtle defects, enabling fast and precise localization and segmentation of pears. Conventional morphological feature extraction is employed to conduct multi-dimensional shape analysis for identifying and rejecting defective fruits. Pressure-sensitive sensors are then used to grade the remaining qualified …
The Effects Of Differential Exposure To Learning Trials On Maintenance Of Behavior Analytic Terminology, Kara Adams
The Effects Of Differential Exposure To Learning Trials On Maintenance Of Behavior Analytic Terminology, Kara Adams
Doctoral Dissertations - College of Arts and Sciences
Previous research has demonstrated the efficacy of continued practice of a task beyond one correct instance on maintenance of a variety of tasks, including vocabulary, city-country pairs, and mazes. Overlearning refers to the improved maintenance of performance on a task as a result of continued practice beyond one errorless trial. The current study established behavioranalytic term definitions and evaluated the effects of differential exposure to learning trials beyond mastery on maintenance of term definitions across substantially longer intervals than previously studied. Six individuals enrolled in a graduate program in applied behavior analysis participated in this study. We systematically manipulated the …

The accelerating convergence of artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, blockchain, and quantum computing has fundamentally transformed the global threat landscape, introducing cybersecurity challenges of unprecedented complexity and scale. This systematic literature review synthesizes findings from peer-reviewed publications, institutional reports, and regulatory documents published primarily between 2020 and 2025 to provide an integrated analysis of contemporary cybersecurity challenges across five key emerging technology domains. The review identifies critical vulnerabilities inherent to each domain, documents the evolution of threat actors and attack methodologies — including AI-powered ransomware, adversarial machine learning, and harvest-now-decrypt-later quantum attacks — and evaluates …
Assessing Computer Vision Based Conflict Detection In Uas Traffic Monitoring Under Secure Communication Constraints, Fadjimata Issoufou Anaroua
Assessing Computer Vision Based Conflict Detection In Uas Traffic Monitoring Under Secure Communication Constraints, Fadjimata Issoufou Anaroua
Doctoral Dissertations and Master's Theses
The rapid growth of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) is creating a new low-altitude airspace ecosystem where drones, air taxis, service suppliers, communication networks, sensors, and ground-based monitoring systems must work together safely. Within this ecosystem, UAS Traffic Management (UTM) is expected to provide a digital framework for coordinating operations beyond traditional air traffic control. However, reliable integration also requires resilient monitoring methods that can detect non-cooperative aircraft, protect communication links, and maintain timely situational awareness under real-world constraints.
This dissertation examines how computer vision can support cooperative monitoring systems such as Remote ID and ADS-B …
Teaching Through Sound: Approaches To The Use Of Fixed Media In Pedagogical Viola Etudes, Roberto C. Mochetti Jr.
Teaching Through Sound: Approaches To The Use Of Fixed Media In Pedagogical Viola Etudes, Roberto C. Mochetti Jr.
LSU Doctoral Dissertations
This dissertation examines the pedagogical possibilities of fixed media in newly composed viola etudes. While fixed media is commonly treated as accompaniment or as a performance medium, this project argues that it can also serve as an active component of technical and musical training. By providing stable and repeatable sonic environments, fixed media can support forms of listening, intonation, sound production, and performer awareness that are difficult to cultivate through traditional etudes alone. This argument responds to a broader pedagogical gap in string training, where long-established etudes and models of technical development remain central even as contemporary viola performance increasingly …

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common functional gastrointestinal disorder characterized by recurrent abdominal pain and changes in bowel habits without measurable disease processes. Recent research emphasizes the gut-brain-microbiome (GBM) axis and explores how microbiota influence gastrointestinal and central nervous system functions. Here, we first discuss a brief overview of various treatment approaches for IBS, focusing on interventions such as probiotics, prebiotics, or synbiotics that target the GBM axis in adults with IBS. Relevant trials discussed the use of probiotics, prebiotics, or synbiotics.
Law Enforcement Help-Seeking Behaviors And Organizational Mental Health Supports, Jordan Elizabeth Longendorf
Law Enforcement Help-Seeking Behaviors And Organizational Mental Health Supports, Jordan Elizabeth Longendorf
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Due to the traumatic and repetitive nature of law enforcement work, mental health support is often needed by officers, but is not consistently sought. Law enforcement leaders need to understand this concern as a leading indicator of workforce well-being, organizational effectiveness, and officers’ willingness to seek needed mental health support. Guided by the conceptual framework of Rickwood and Thomas’s help-seeking behaviors, the purpose of this descriptive phenomenological study was to explore law enforcement officers’ lived experiences of help-seeking behaviors for emotional and mental health issues. Data were collected through six semistructured interviews with current law enforcement officers in four different …

Knowledge on chemicals, waste, and pollution is shaped by geographical, financial, and disciplinary biases, which can cause blind spots for key emerging issues, including those relevant to low income countries and vulnerable communities. Scientists, practitioners, affected communities, and policy makers working in the areas of the newly established Intergovernmental Science-Policy Panel on Chemicals, Waste, and Pollution (ISP-CWP) have interest in identifying issues of potential and emerging relevance that currently escape their attention. Horizon scanning offers a critical tool to identify such issues. Here, we provide guidance on aligning horizon scanning approaches with differing objectives, audiences, and thematic scopes. We structure …

Machine learning has substantially improved consumer credit-risk prediction, yet its deployment in lending decisionsraises persistent concerns regarding demographic fairness, financial exclusion, explainability, and regulatory defensibility. Thisstudy develops and empirically evaluates a Fairness-Aware Credit Intelligence (FACI) framework — a four-layer architectureintegrating predictive modeling, in- and post-processing fairness intervention, explainability and human policy override, andportfolio-level simulation and governance — using loan-level data from 412,683 consumer lending applications spanning 2021–2026. The study compares a traditional credit scorecard, gradient boosting and deep neural network models, two single-constraint fairness-aware models (demographic parity and equal opportunity), and the integrated FACI framework acrosspredictive accuracy (AUC-ROC), approval rates, …
