Prevalence of uterovaginal prolapse is increasing with increase in life expectancy of women. The reported prevalence of uterovaginal prolapse is different in different countries. Various studies have been reported on the prevalence, determinants, clinical manifestations and treatment modalities of uterovaginal prolapse.

Objectives:

Determine the prevalence of uterovaginal prolapse, identify determinants of uterovaginal prolapse, its clinical manifestations and describe different treatment options.

Study Design:

Retrospective study done on uterovaginal prolapse at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute in Puducherry in India from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014.

Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) can be developed and implemented to address significant global challenges, including nutrient deficiencies, climate change, and crop disease. However, widespread opposition has prevented the success of GMOs. We believe this opposition is strongly connected to a lack of understanding about genetics in general, which has been reflected by previous studies.

The objective of this paper is to review a case report for a patient with idiopathic transverse myelitis. This rare disease can easily be forgotten based on the vagueness of symptoms and as the presentation can vary drastically. Asthma is a commonly occurring pediatric condition managed in primary care. In 2020, asthma guidelines changed for treating mild persistent asthma. Now, experts recommend using Single Maintenance and Reliever Therapy (SMART) in children 4 years of age and older. With the SMART approach, patients use one inhaler to maintain and relieve symptoms, as the name implies. The combination inhaler contains budesonide, an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS), and formoterol, a long-acting beta-2 agonist (LABA). This paper reviews the potential of intermittent fasting as a non-pharmacological therapeutic approach to the treatment of metabolic syndrome (MetS). MetS is a global health problem with risk factors that include obesity, hypertension, hyperglycemia, low high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, and high triglycerides that predispose to cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. Disorders of sex development (DSD) are congenital abnormalities of sexual differentiation resulting from disparity in the chromosomal, gonadal and phenotypic sex. Most of these children present with ambiguous genitalia, but can also present with hernias or undescended testis as in persistent Mullerian duct syndrome (PMDS). The social stigma attached with this disorder makes it imperative for expeditious evaluation and appropriate assignment of sex in our scenario. We report here successful management of such a case and review the literature. In conclusion, a rare case of DSD like PMDS requires a high index of suspicion and can be managed successfully.

Fetal ascites is commonly seen with hydrops fetalis. Historically, fetal ascites has been associated with significant mortality and morbidity. Primary isolated fetal ascites occurs independently as an isolated disease due to numerous congenital abnormalities. Extensive antenatal and postnatal evaluation for the detection of the cause is done in these cases, if found and appropriately treated have shown good results. This research explores the material recycling methods used by the aerospace industry, particularly in comparison to the reusability of aerospace materials and with the objective to find uses for recycled materials from aircraft. Through an analysis of various other material mitigation methods, it is apparent that the physical degradation of materials after they go through recycling processes and the cost of recycling are the most prominent issues holding the aerospace industry back from being able to recycle aircraft up to 100%. Concrete-filled double-skin steel tubular (CFDST) columns have become widely utilized in building construction and bridges, thanks to their exceptional structural capabilities. This study investigates the axial compression behavior of corrugated CFDST columns, analyzing the impact of flat or corrugated external/internal plates and varying internal steel tube widths. The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for fast, non-invasive, and cost-effective diagnostic tools. Cough sounds, as a prominent symptom of respiratory diseases, present a promising modality for automated COVID-19 detection. In this study, we propose a novel multi-modal deep learning framework for COVID-19 detection that leverages cough sounds and patient-specific medical information. Our approach extracts two types of acoustic features—Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCCs) and Mel spectrograms—and integrates them with clinical metadata to improve diagnostic ac-curacy. This study addresses the complexities of simulating multiphase flows, particularly the dynamics of droplet behaviour on solid substrates, which are influenced by intricate capillary interactions. Despite advancements in fixed-grid and moving-grid methodologies, there remains a critical gap in accurately modelling transient phenomena and dissipative forces at the solid-liquid interface. We introduce a novel Eulerian-particle finite element method (PFEM) framework that captures the transient capillary forces associated with the movement of contact lines in liquid droplet spreading scenarios.
