Identifying The Sources Of Ambient Solar Wind Driven Substorm With The Adapt-Wsa Model, Ainsley Helgerson
Identifying The Sources Of Ambient Solar Wind Driven Substorm With The Adapt-Wsa Model, Ainsley Helgerson
Discovery Day - Daytona Beach
This study investigates whether substorm onset locations on the Sun exhibit specific patterns by analyzing its source region-active regions (ARs), quiet sun (QS), and coronal holes (CH)-and their corresponding solar wind properties using statistical analysis. Matching event times were found using SuperMAG substorm, ACE, and WSA data. We analyzed geomagnetic indices (AE, AU, and AL) and solar wind variability, including Bz paths in magnetic field components, velocity, and density. Preliminary results conclude that five Carrington rotations (CRs) (from ADAPT-WSA) are insufficient for accurate results, indicating a longer simulation is necessary. This research looks to improve the current understanding of substorm …

Enhancing Art History Education With Ai: Accessibility, Engagement, And Skill Development, Analisa Soverns-Reed
International Journal of Emerging and Disruptive Innovation in Education : VISIONARIUM
The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the art history classroom offers transformative opportunities for students through accessibility, engagement, and skill development. This paper explores how AI can democratize access to art history education by providing cost-effective tools that eliminate traditional barriers, such as expensive textbooks, inaccessible archives, or costly field trips. AI-powered platforms like visual recognition software and adaptive learning tools enable students to engage with material more deeply, allowing for personalized learning pathways and interactive explorations of art and its contexts. Beyond content delivery, incorporating AI fosters critical digital literacy, equipping students with the skills to navigate and …

Writing As Curation: Empowering Authorial Agency In Ai-Assisted Composition Through Style Prompting And Quotation Glosses, Daniel Plate
International Journal of Emerging and Disruptive Innovation in Education : VISIONARIUM
As artificial intelligence writing tools become increasingly prevalent in educational settings, students often report feeling alienated from AI-generated content, describing it as lacking their "authentic voice." This article presents a pedagogical approach that addresses this challenge by repositioning students as curators of their authorial identities rather than passive consumers of AI-generated text. Through a dual curation methodology combining quotation glosses with style prompting, students develop multiple authorial voices for different rhetorical situations while maintaining agency over their writing process. The approach builds on classical rhetorical traditions while leveraging contemporary AI capabilities, creating a framework where students collaborate with AI tools …

First-Year Intersections: Professional Preparation And Civic Engagement Across Four New American Colleges And Universities (Nacu) Campuses, Shereen Ilahi, Chastity Blankenship, Andy Morris, Jeffrey Thomas
Journal of Community Engagement and Higher Education
Four institutions hypothesized that civic engagement in first-year courses reinforces career readiness by helping students think critically, communicate effectively, and work well with diversity. We measured teamwork skills, the ability to synthesize and apply different perspectives, and the ability to express, listen to, and adapt ideas based on the perspective of others. We compared self-assessments to direct assessment of student-created artifacts and found a positive correlation that encourages further enquiry.

Journal of Applied Research on Children: Informing Policy for Children at Risk
Introduction: Suicide in adolescents poses a major public health crisis as the second leading cause of death in youth. Suicidal thoughts and behaviors (STBs) are a principal reason for psychiatric hospitalization among adolescents. Numerous studies across development have identified risk factors (e.g., depression, borderline personality (BPD) features, family history of suicide) associated with STBs, while research in adults largely reports that the affective component of psychopathy, captured by callous-unemotional (CU) traits, is negatively associated with STBs. However, the relationship between CU traits and STB risk among adolescents remains unclear.
Methods: The present study tested associations between self-reported CU …

Space Socks: Quantum Entanglement Simulation Game, Suma Mallapragada, Celeste Gnits
Defensive Publications Series
Quantum teleportation and entanglement are foundational topics in quantum mechanics that are difficult to visualize and intuitively grasp. “Space Socks” is an interactive educational game that demystifies these quantum phenomena through playful simulation. Developed as part of the Celeste GNITS Space Research initiative, this game leverages quantum circuit logic and entangled metaphors to teach quantum teleportation, quantum internet, and entanglement swapping. This whitepaper outlines the scientific basis, game mechanics, implementation, and educational impact of the Space Socks project.
By publishing the work and its associated repository publicly, we are preventing the possibility of patent claims on the unique ideas …
An Elementary Approach To The Probability Distribution Of The Product Of Multiple Random Variables, Suwen Tian
An Elementary Approach To The Probability Distribution Of The Product Of Multiple Random Variables, Suwen Tian
Rose-Hulman Undergraduate Mathematics Journal
Abstract There arenindependent identically distributed (i.i.d.) uniform random variables defined as ξ1,ξ2,…,ξn, valued in interval [0,k](k>0), and there is a constantmvalued in interval (0,kn). We study the distribution of the product of these random numbers and prove a formula calculating Pr(∏i=1nξi≤m). Interestingly, we find that the result is exactly the sum of the firstnterms in the Taylor series expansion of the function exp(x) with x=nlnk-lnm. Through considering the corresponding probability density function, we make an extension of the formula calculating Pr(∏i=1nξi≤m) to any positive realn, and the extended formula can be written in a …

Kshv Vil6 Inhibits Functional B Cell Maturation During De Novo Infection, Wajd Zakir, Jessica M. Osborn, Jennifer Totonchy
Pharmacy Faculty Articles and Research
Despite causative links to lymphoproliferative disorders, little is known about early events governing KSHV infection in B lymphocytes. IL-6 signaling plays a critical role in KSHV-mediated disease, with human IL-6 (hIL6) levels correlating with viral load and disease progression. This dynamic is even more complex due to the coexistence of hIL6 and KSHV-encoded viral IL-6 (vIL6) in these diseases. We hypothesize that hIL6 and vIL6 play critical, separable and collective roles in the early stages of KSHV infection in B cells. In this study, we use our ex vivo model of KSHV infection in human tonsil lymphocytes to investigate the …
