A Comprehensive Review On Machine Learning-Based Job Recommendation Systems, Shaymaa Al-Juboori, Su-Cheng Haw, Rui Ern Yap
School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics
A dynamic, constantly shifting labor market creates enormous job postings, overwhelming candidates and making it difficult for businesses to find quality candidates. It is also hard for job seekers to find suitable jobs. Addressing these issues, machine learning-driven job recommender systems have recently become an essential tool using predictivemodels to improve the match between jobs and candidates. A hybrid design that combine scollaborative filtering with content-based filtering andadds contextual information like geographic location, industry trends, and user behavioural data can enhance the accuracy and relevance of recommendations. This paper reviews and critically analyzes contemporary jobre commender system techniques. The focus is …

School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics
In today’s digital era, the rapid evolution of image editing technologies has brought about a significant simplification of image manipulation. Unfortunately, this progress has also given rise to the misuse of manipulated images across various domains. One of the pressing challenges stemming from this advancement is the increasing difficulty in discerning between unaltered and manipulated images. This paper offers a comprehensive survey of existing methodologies for detecting image tampering, shedding light on the diverse approaches employed in the field of contemporary image forensics. The methods used to identify image forgery can be broadly classified into two primary categories: classical machine …

Low-Energy Multi-Photon Scattering At Tree-Level And One-Loop Order In A Homogeneous Electromagnetic Field, Ivan Ahumada, Patrick Copinger, James P. Edwards
School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics
We study low energy photons coupled to scalar and spinor matter in the presence of an arbitrary homogeneous electromagnetic field in a first-quantised (worldline) approach. Utilising a Fock-Schwinger gauge for both the scattering photons and homogeneous background, simple compact expressions are found for both the photon- and background-dressed effective action and propagator in scalar and spinor quantum electrodynamics. The low-energy limit allows identification of the coupling of the scattering photons as one of an effective homogeneous superposition of their field strengths, with amplitudes following from application of a suitable linearisation operator. To treat the linearisation, several techniques are employed, including …

All Decisions
The landlord moved for summary judgment in a nonpayment case. The court denied the motion, finding issues of fact regarding the apartment's rent-stabilized status, which the landlord claimed was deregulated due to high-rent decontrol. The court ruled that the tenant was not estopped from challenging the deregulation, despite having a pending overcharge claim at DHCR. The court also invalidated an out-of-court agreement where the tenant's attorney acknowledged deregulation, citing that any agreement waiving Rent Stabilization Law (RSL) benefits is void. The landlord's contradictory lease submissions further raised factual questions, warranting a trial.

All Decisions
The court dismissed the landlord's holdover petition because the predicate notice was improperly served. The affidavit of service stated it was personally served on "Albert Zelaya," but the notice was actually delivered to "Albert Zelaya Jr." Citing the **strict compliance** standard for personal service, the court found the name discrepancy was a fatal defect. The landlord's cross-motion to amend the affidavit was denied because it was not supported by an affidavit from someone with personal knowledge, nor did the landlord demonstrate that the respondent had attempted to evade service.

Pretty Dangerous: The Romanticization Of Grooming In Pretty Little Liars, Katherine G. Johnson, Emma Grace Gilland
Pretty Dangerous: The Romanticization Of Grooming In Pretty Little Liars, Katherine G. Johnson, Emma Grace Gilland
UTC Spring Research and Arts Conference
Sexual grooming is the deliberate manipulation of a minor by an adult to reduce their sensitivity to sexual contact, with the specific aim of perpetrating child or adolescent sexual abuse (Winters, 2022). Prevalence rates for sexual grooming vary; however, a recent study by Winters and Jeglic (2022) found that approximately 24% of their sample of undergraduate student sample reported experiencing sexual grooming as a minor. These predatory behaviors were prominently featured between lead adolescent and adult characters throughout the popular television show, Pretty Little Liars. This raises concerns about how such behaviors might be perceived when portrayed in popular media …

Authors has combined modified stacking and voting ensemble machine learning techniques for binary classification problems. Before combining the ensemble techniques, authors has modified the stacking ensemble technique for making the proposed method more robust.
This proposed method was applied on two different binary class …
How Closely Should We Compare?: A Statutory Analysis On State Comparability Standards Under The Clean Water Act, Brenna M. Skiles
How Closely Should We Compare?: A Statutory Analysis On State Comparability Standards Under The Clean Water Act, Brenna M. Skiles
Helms School of Government Undergraduate Law Review
This Note aims to evaluate the basis for general statutory interpretation to apply it to § 309(g) of the Clean Water Act. The United States Courts of Appeals have been divided on which standard for determining State law comparables under section 309(g) of the Clean Water Act is the most appropriate standard to use. So far, the First, Sixth, Eighth, Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh Circuit Courts have set forth an opinion on the matter. Even though each the six courts have interpreted the statute, there is still no “universally” applied standard. The First, Sixth and Ninth Circuits have each come …

The Delegation Dilemma: Assessing How The Overturn Of Chevron Paves The Way For The Revitalization Of The Nondelegation Doctrine, Elizabeth Paige Sonnenschein
Helms School of Government Undergraduate Law Review
The nondelegation doctrine is derived from Article I of the United States Constitution, and it prohibits Congress from delegating its enumerated legislative powers to other branches or agencies of the government. However, the nondelegation doctrine has been limited over the last century, and it has not been enforced to the fullest extent in the Supreme Court since the 1935 ruling in A.L.A Schechter Poultry Corp. v. United States. As a result, Congress has been allowed the discretion to delegate quasilegislative powers to administrative agencies and the executive branch under the premise of the intelligible principle and various levels of …

The ophthalmologist uses various techniques to diagnose corneal abnormalities, including corneal topography and tomography devices. Currently generated color corneal elevation surface maps from topographic imaging devices are essential for detecting ocular diseases, while accurately classifying these maps to differentiate between different shapes remains an issue. This study aims to assess and compare parameters of the front and back corneal surface elevation map patterns of normal/abnormal corneas. Two hundred cases were randomly taken (100 normal and 100 abnormal) with a single normal reference image, and then an additional 25 cases were added later for the optimization process. The preprocessing of all …

Hysterical conversion has similar cognition and behaviours to those in the case of ASD; it is, therefore, complex when diagnosing and classifying the condition. The majority of employed diagnostic tests are cross-sectional and fail to describe the developmental and clinical features of ASD; for this reason, they are pretty inaccurate in the diagnosis of ASD and thus cause disparities in the efficiency of the therapeutic interventions used. The present study's research contribution is a new application of deep learning that aims to analyse the spectrum of ASD with gradient-based classifications. In this case, we use a DL model trained on …
