Did Seismic Events Trigger The Growth Of Aragonitic Speleothems In Mawmluh Cave, North-East India?, Dildi Dildi, Dana Riechelmann Dr., Michael Weber Dr., Anne Jantschke Dr., Regina Mertz-Kraus Dr., Denis Scholz Dr.
International Journal of Speleology
Mawmluh Cave, north-east India, is located in a seismically very active region within the Himalayas with frequent earthquakes of varying magnitude. So far, speleothems from the cave have mainly been used to reconstruct past monsoon variability. The potential effect of seismic events on speleothem formation in Mawmluh Cave, however, has not been studied in detail yet. We investigated three stalagmites from Mawmluh Cave, each predominantly consisting of calcite overlain by substantially younger aragonite at the top (i.e., an aragonite ‘cap’). 230Th/U-dating shows that the initiation of aragonite growth occurred between 1859 and 1950 CE in agreement with previous studies. The …

Adaptive Microloop Avoidance Delay Derived From Measured Convergence Metrics, Anonymous
Defensive Publications Series
A network node defers installation of a newly computed forwarding entry for a hold interval sized at run time from measurements the node takes of its own routing domain, rather than from a value configured in advance. Traffic rides a precomputed alternate entry during the hold. The node tracks the per-hop propagation latency of control-plane updates, the time to compute and install a forwarding state, and the hop extent of the domain, as running statistics. It then sums an estimated propagation time across the domain, an estimated worst-case remote computation time, and a programming allowance, then bounds the result. A …
Implementation Of Wound Digital Photography During Admission Two-Nurse Skin Assessments, Melody R. Austin
Implementation Of Wound Digital Photography During Admission Two-Nurse Skin Assessments, Melody R. Austin
International Nursing Research Congress (INRC)
This quality improvement project evaluated the effectiveness of implementing a standardized two-nurse admission skin assessment, supported by digital wound photography, to strengthen documentation accuracy and improve recognition of pressure injuries at a large tertiary medical center. Hospital-acquired pressure injuries (HAPIs) remain a serious safety and financial concern, and inconsistent, subjective admission skin assessments limit the ability to distinguish present-on-admission conditions from hospital-acquired injuries. Guided by the Plan-Do-Study-Act methodology, the intervention was implemented across five targeted units following staff education, workflow updates, and integration of secure, HIPAA-compliant wound photography. Data collection included electronic medical record audits, PSI-03 quality reports, learning management …

Journal of Dentomaxillofacial Science
Objective: Research on green-synthesized nanoparticles in dentistry has grown rapidly, yet remains synthesized mainly through narrative and scoping reviews without formal quantitative mapping. This study characterized publication trends, thematic clusters, geographic productivity, and the intellectual base of this field using bibliometric analysis and science mapping.
Methods: Records were retrieved from Scopus, PubMed, and Web of Science (English; 2006–2026) and screened against a three-element eligibility criterion (green/biogenic synthesis, a nanoparticle/nanomaterial study object, and an explicit dental/oral health context) following the BIBLIO checklist. After deduplication, screening, and indexing verification, 733 records (702 articles and 31 reviews) were retained. Annual growth, keyword co-occurrence, …
Integrating Gis With Interim Payment Valuation In Road Construction Projects: A Conceptual Framework, Abdulrahman I. Iro, Juma M. Matindana, Julian Ijumulana
Integrating Gis With Interim Payment Valuation In Road Construction Projects: A Conceptual Framework, Abdulrahman I. Iro, Juma M. Matindana, Julian Ijumulana
Tanzania Journal of Engineering and Technology (TJET)
Abstract
Interim Payment Valuation is a critical process in road construction contract administration, yet conventional valuation practices remain heavily dependent on manual measurements, fragmented documentation, spreadsheets, and professional judgement. These limitations can affect measurement accuracy, transparency, traceability, and the timeliness of payment certification. Although Geographic Information Systems have increasingly been applied to construction planning, quantity measurement, progress monitoring, infrastructure management, and decision support, their integration with contractual and financial processes for interim payment valuation remains insufficiently explored. This study therefore develops a conceptual framework for integrating GIS with Interim Payment Valuation in road construction projects. A PRISMA-guided structured literature review …
Convergence As Capability Toward Realizing The 2026 National Defense Strategy, James Giordano
Convergence As Capability Toward Realizing The 2026 National Defense Strategy, James Giordano
Strategic Insights
This commentary argues that revitalizing the U.S. defense industrial base requires more than expanding conventional production capacity. It calls for a broader, distributed national security industrial ecosystem that integrates critical technologies such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, quantum science, advanced materials, big-data analytics, and autonomous systems. Dr. Giordano recommends mission-oriented convergence programs, greater participation by nontraditional firms and universities, modular and interoperable acquisition, distributed manufacturing hubs, deeper supply-chain visibility, and investment in interdisciplinary talent. The ability to integrate emerging technologies into scalable, adaptable military capabilities should be treated as a core source of U.S. strategic advantage and deterrence.

Cornell Law School J.D. Student Research Papers
On October 5, 2026, the Cornell Law School Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic submitted this comment letter on proposed Treasury and IRS regulations (REG-119882-25, 91 Fed. Reg. 53,812). The regulations would apply the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA) to the refunded portions of the adoption tax credit, child tax credit, American opportunity tax credit, and earned income tax credit. The letter argues that Treasury has not adequately reconciled PRWORA's "qualified alien" test with the Code's residency and Social Security number rules. It also argues that Treasury has not justified treating the adoption credit as a federal public …

Impacts Of Climate Variability On Infiltration And Groundwater Recharge In The Southeastern Coastal Region Of Côte D'Ivoire, Oulai Jean-Gautier Kpan, Assa Fabrice Yapi, Malan Ketcha Armand Kablan, Yeï Marie Solange Oga, Jean Biemi
Engineering and Technology Journal
This study assesses the impacts of climate variability on infiltration and groundwater recharge within the southeastern coastal corridor of Côte d'Ivoire, spanning from Abidjan to Aboisso. The methodology integrates the Pettitt test to detect rainfall stationarity breaks, followed by water balance modeling using the Thornthwaite and Tixeront–Berkaloff methods to quantify infiltration. The analysis relies on a multi-decadal meteorological dataset, including a 54-year rainfall series (1960–2014) and a 43-year temperature record (1971–2014), coupled with a 23-year historical groundwater level monitoring dataset (1982–2005) obtained from deep boreholes. precipitation fluctuations were correlated with piezometric level variations across 30 shallow wells and 9 deep …
Hardware-Isolated Thermodynamic Coprocessor For Appliance-Aware Multi-Zone Climate Control And Anticipatory Time-Of-Use Tariff Scheduling, Rohan Garg
Defensive Publications Series
This publication describes a climate control node (e.g., a smart thermostat) that includes a hardware-isolated thermodynamic coprocessor. In an example implementation, the coprocessor intercepts or otherwise receives power-related telemetry that appliances broadcast on a local low-power mesh network and converts that telemetry into anticipated heat loads for individual zones of a building. For instance, a radio baseband may capture mesh-network frames, a hardware filter may match application-layer cluster identifiers such as electrical power measurement and device energy management clusters, and matched payloads may be transferred by direct memory access into an isolated memory buffer that the coprocessor reads. In certain …

Divergent Geographies Of Disadvantage: Multidimensional Poverty And Teacher-Deployment Priority Across Ghana's 261 Districts, Bismark B. Fermah, Cai Lianyu
Jurnal Pendidikan: Teori, Penelitian, dan Pengembangan
Ghana relies on two district-level rankings of disadvantage to guide equity policy: a census-based multidimensional poverty index and a teacher-deployment priority list. Because the deployment flag conditions on classroom overcrowding, the inverse care law predicts the two should diverge, yet policy treats them as interchangeable. This study examined whether the two rankings identify the same districts. This descriptive ecological cross-sectional study linked the 2021 Census multidimensional poverty statistics to the 2026 Teachers for All: Ghana classification across all 261 districts and 16 regions, applying Welch's t test, two one-sided tests of equivalence against pre-specified margins of 10.0 and 4.8 percentage …

Alternative Dispute Resolution And Legal Pluralism In Practice: Grassroots Mediation In The Akamba Counties Of Kenya, Victoria M. Time, Daniel K. Pryce
African Journal of Criminology and Justice Studies
Abstract
Alternative dispute resolution (ADR), the process of employing a third party, outside of the state apparatus, to help resolve disputes between opposing parties, has been used on the African continent for hundreds of years. In Kenya, the focus of the current study, ADRs have included mediation, negotiation, and arbitration. To have a better understanding of why Kenyans are embracing mediation instead of the formal courts to resolve disputes, the study relies on the legal pluralism theoretical framework and the results of a study that employed two ethnographic techniques – interviews and participant observation – from three Kenyan counties: Makueni, …
Language As A Strategic Security Resource: Criminological Perspectives On Collective Efficacy, Cultural Security, And Community Resilience, Declan Onwudiwe
Language As A Strategic Security Resource: Criminological Perspectives On Collective Efficacy, Cultural Security, And Community Resilience, Declan Onwudiwe
African Journal of Criminology and Justice Studies
Language is typically examined as a medium of communication, identity formation, cultural transmission, and education. This article advances a broader argument: language should also be understood as a strategic security resource and a significant criminological variable. Drawing on collective efficacy theory, societal security scholarship, linguistic relativity, decolonial language theory, and ethnolinguistic vitality theory, the article argues that language can facilitate social cohesion, informal social control, intelligence gathering, conflict resolution, procedural legitimacy, and community resilience. Indigenous African languages serve as repositories of historical memory, customary law, social norms, and security-relevant knowledge that may contribute to public safety and social order. The …

From Anatomy To Safe Action: The A2d And Scope-D Frameworks For Teaching Clinical Reasoning And Referral Communication In Physical Therapist Education, Arvie Vitente, Pamela Taylor, Christopher Dela Rosa, Art Lubinski
Philippine Journal of Physical Therapy
Introduction. Physical therapist learners may accurately recall anatomy yet struggle to translate it into testable hypotheses, recognize discordant findings, select proportionate actions, and communicate uncertainty within scope. Existing frameworks address clinical reasoning or structured communication, but limited guidance connects anatomy-based hypothesis testing directly to patient-centered referral communication when findings do not fit. This theory piece pairs Anatomy-to-Decision (A2D) with SCOPE-D to address that curricular gap.
Methods. Integrative conceptual design drew on literature concerning physical therapist clinical reasoning, illness scripts, cognitive load, dual-process reasoning, hypothesis-oriented patient management, safety screening, and communication of diagnostic uncertainty. These foundations were translated into features intended …

Philippine Journal of Physical Therapy
Introduction: The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is a seven-part movement assessment used to identify injury risks caused by faulty biomechanics. There are three barriers in traditional FMS assessments that could affect the tool’s validity: the subjectivity of human scores that could cause bias, the need for in-person evaluations which limit access for remote patients, and the requirement of specialized training to use the tool, which makes it less accessible. This study investigates the effectiveness of SOMA, an AI-based web application that uses the MediaPipe framework to automatically assess (FMS) performances.
Methods: This study employs a quantitative, cross-sectional, comparative design to …

Whose Burden Is It Anyway? A Historical Resolution To Burden Allocation Under Federal Rule Of Civil Procedure 12(B)(3), Curtis Valencia
Northwestern University Law Review
Today, venue is generally treated as secondary to jurisdiction: statutory, waivable, and concerned with where litigation should proceed, rather than whether it should proceed at all. Yet the courts of appeals remain split over a basic question of federal venue procedure: who bears the burden of proof when a defendant moves to dismiss for improper venue under Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 12(b)(3)? Though seemingly technical, in practice, burden allocation can determine whether a suit survives.
This Note offers the first historically grounded approach to resolving Rule 12(b)(3)’s burden allocation problem and argues that the circuit majority approach rests on …

Artificial Neural Network-Based Modelling And Prediction Of Key Performance Indicators In Road Construction Projects, Hussein Mativila, John M. Kafuku, Beatus A. T. Kundi
Tanzania Journal of Engineering and Technology (TJET)
Road construction projects in developing countries including Tanzania experience several challenges including cost overruns, schedule delays and poor quality. The causes of these challenges include complex interdependencies project’s uncertainty factors. This makes traditional methods for predicting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) less effective. This study has developed a robust Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model for accurate modelling and predicting KPIs for road construction projects in Tanzania. The analysis was based on data obtained from 281 projects implemented by TANROADS in 11 regions from 2015 to 2025. Fourteen uncertainty factors were measured on a five-point Likert scale and screened using Principal Component …
Differences In Sustained Attentional Engagement With Emotional Targets In Individuals Reporting High And Low Worry, Jinu J. Mathew
Differences In Sustained Attentional Engagement With Emotional Targets In Individuals Reporting High And Low Worry, Jinu J. Mathew
Clinical Psychology Dissertations
Attention bias towards emotionally salient or threatening information has been well documented across various populations, and it has been thought to contribute to the development and maintenance of anxiety. While previous research has identified early-stage attentional differences in individuals reporting elevated anxiety symptoms, less is known about how worry might impact later-stage processes involving sustained attentional engagement and visual working memory. The present study examined behavioral and electrophysiological indices of attentional processing during a modified visual search task in individuals reporting high compared to low levels of worry. Sixty-eight participants were recruited and classified into high and low worry groups …
Originalism's General-Law Turn, Nina Varsava, Bill Watson
Originalism's General-Law Turn, Nina Varsava, Bill Watson
Northwestern University Law Review
Originalists are increasingly turning to a general-law theory of constitutional rights. Under this theory, constitutional enactment declared but did not create constitutional rights. The content of those rights was, and remains, a question of general law—a species of common law, regularly employed at the Founding, that transcends jurisdictional boundaries. This preoccupation with general law has precipitated a wave of scholarship developing general-law accounts of various constitutional rights. Yet the nature of general law itself remains poorly understood.
This Article offers a theory of general law. Using philosophical methods to reexamine early American cases and recent work in legal history, the …

Two sections are added to my previous article with similar title, in relation to the so-called dynamic logic-error, other complications with modern mathematics and some details on the philosophy behind scene. These remarks could be seen as more details on the axioms of math-arguments and the actual basis-inspiration of the meta-math previously developed. In other words, this `continuation' gives the connection between (meta-)mathematics and the science of the creation-energy.

Special education teachers face instructional, documentation, and compliance demands that often impede the fidelity of High-Leverage Practices (HLPs). While HLPs are central to promoting positive academic and behavioral growth for students with disabilities, a significant research-to-practice gap persists because educators lack the time and resources to implement these evidence-based strategies consistently within increasingly complex classrooms. Artificial intelligence (AI) offers emerging opportunities to mitigate systemic burdens by serving as a collaborative partner rather than a replacement for professional judgment. This manuscript examines AI’s potential to enhance HLP implementation across the domains of instruction, data-driven practice, collaboration, and intensive intervention. Drawing upon …
