Unseen Bias: How Ai Shapes Religious Narratives In Digital Spaces, Hilman Nurjaman, Achmed Faiz Yudha Siregar, Jasmine Rizky El Yasinta
Journal Of Middle East and Islamic Studies
This study explores the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in shaping religious narratives in digital spaces, particularly on social media platforms and AI chatbots. Using sentiment analysis and qualitative content analysis, this research examines religious discourse in Indonesia, focusing on the impact of AI-driven content personalization, such as 'filter bubbles' and 'echo chambers'. The findings indicate that AI algorithms reinforce religious biases, intensifying polarization and discrimination, especially between majority and minority religious groups. The study also highlights the socio-political factors influencing these dynamics, including identity politics, historical religious tensions, and conservative social norms. This research emphasizes the need for a …
Exploring Themes In Leadership Transition At A Rural Nonprofit Community Theatre: An Accidental Research Project, Elise Lael Kieffer
Exploring Themes In Leadership Transition At A Rural Nonprofit Community Theatre: An Accidental Research Project, Elise Lael Kieffer
Journal of Nonprofit Innovation
Leadership transitions in nonprofit organizations present both challenges and opportunities, particularly in rural community-based theatres where organizational identity is often deeply connected to individual leaders. This study employs narrative inquiry, guided by the lens of Feminist Pragmatism, to explore leadership change at Playhouse in the Park, a long-standing rural community theatre in Murray, Kentucky. Through interviews, reflections, and observations, the study identifies five emergent themes shaping directors’ experiences: expectations, programming content, personality, relational expectations, and the balance between cautiousness and freedom. Findings suggest that the tensions inherent in rural nonprofit leadership transitions—rather than serving as obstacles—function as necessary forces that …

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry
The detection and management of horticultural crop diseases is crucial for enhancing productivity, reducing costs, and promoting environmentally sustainable practices. Recently, various techniques have been developed for managing crop-related issues, including leaf diseases and pest control. A centralized control approach has been implemented for disease detection. This centralized system faced significant challenges, including concerns over data privacy and the costs associated with data migration. This study addressed the problems with centralized solutions through a federated learning approach enhanced by the attention mechanism of the vision transformer (ViT). We investigated the key features of the federated learning method and propose a …

Structure Of Jupiter's High-Latitude Storms: Folded Filamentary Regions Revealed By Juno, L. N. Fletcher, Z. Zhang, S. Brown, F. A. Oyafuso, J. H. Rogers, M. H. Wong, S. Brueshaber, Et. Al
Michigan Tech Publications
Sprawling, turbulent cloud formations dominate the meteorology of Jupiter's mid‐to‐high latitudes, known as Folded Filamentary Regions (FFRs). A multi‐wavelength characterization by Juno reveals the spatial distribution, vertical structure, and energetics of the FFRs. The cloud tops display multiple lobes of stratiform aerosols, separated by darker, cloud‐free lanes, and embedded with smaller eddies and high‐altitude cumulus clouds. These cyclonic FFRs are microwave‐bright in shallow‐sounding wavelengths (p < 5 bars) and microwave‐dark in deep‐sounding wavelengths (p > 10 bars), with the transition potentially associated with the water condensation layer (6–7 bars). Associating microwave contrasts with temperature anomalies, this implies despinning of cyclonic eddies above/below their mid‐planes. Despite deep roots (being detectable in …

Dysregulation of endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondrial (ER:Mit) contacts and mitochondrial calcium (mitCa2+) homeostasis are found in several neurodegenerative disorders, including Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T). However, the cellular basis of these defects remains unclear. Previously, we demonstrated that the aberrantly elevated Interferon-Stimulated Gene 15 (ISG15) pathway inhibits protein polyubiquitylation, its dependent protein turnover, and mitophagy pathways in A-T. Literature indicates that silencing of mitochondrial ubiquitin ligase 1 (MUL1) stabilizes mitofusin2 (MFN2) and attenuates mitCa2+ uptake from ER to Mit (mitCa2+influx) in primary neurons. We have replicated these findings in apparently healthy fibroblasts. We hypothesized that elevated ISG15 may inhibit ubiquitin-dependent MUL1-mediated degradation …

Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy
The celebration of 100 years of “Liga medicorum homoeopathica internationalis” (LMHI) in 2025 gives reason to reflect on the philosophical essence of Homoeopathy as well as its historical development within a dynamic, changing world up to now.
From a philosophical perspective, in this first part, it is pointed out that Hahnemann, the founder of Homoeopathy, needs to be understood in his entirety– not only as a keen discoverer, practitioner and thinker, but also in his spiritual shape, i.e. in his ethical, religious and humanitarian attitude and conviction.
Only thus may one grasp the significance of the schism pervading Homoeopathy’s history …

Concentric Macular Rings And Oct Corrugations In Foveal Hypoplasia: Proof Of Concept For An Optical Interference Mechanism, Ari August, Ralph Eagle, Tatyana Milman, Rebecca Procopio, Bruce Schnall, Jose Pulido
Wills Eye Hospital Papers
BACKGROUND: Concentric macular rings (CMR) and Henle fiber layer (HFL) corrugations, potential clinical biomarkers of foveal hypoplasia, have been observed in laser fundus photographs and optical coherence tomography (OCT) images, respectively. Some believe these findings represent true anatomical structural changes while others hypothesize that they are artifacts of interference; however, to our knowledge, no previous study has provided evidence to support either theory.
METHODS: This retrospective case series analyzed CMR and OCT corrugations in 3 patients (6 eyes) with foveal hypoplasia. Dark fringe diameters of CMR at different wavelengths (λ: red = 635, green = 532, blue = 488 nm) …

QawāʿId Al-Fiqh On Government Energy Subsidies: Controlling Inflation Amid Economic Recovery, Nuzulul Firdaus, Nur Fatwa
Journal Of Middle East and Islamic Studies
The war between Russia and Ukraine significantly affected world life, one of which was the increase in world oil energy prices. Indonesia, in this case, which still imports a lot of energy, is also affected. The government needs to implement policies to face these global challenges, one of which is to provide subsidies for energy so that state budget funds can assist people's purchasing power for energy because if not, this will lead to an increase in the prices of goods and services so that there will be inflation. Still, on the other hand, Indonesia is also carrying out a …

The M-Clean Graph Of A Finite Commutative Ring, Susan F. El-Deken, Harald Fripertinger, Aya Gamal
The M-Clean Graph Of A Finite Commutative Ring, Susan F. El-Deken, Harald Fripertinger, Aya Gamal
Sustainable Machine Intelligence Journal
We study m-clean graphs of finite commutative rings R, which are a generalization of clean graphs. Their vertices are pairs of m-potent elements and units of R. These graphs can be described as Cartesian sums or co-normal products of two graphs. In particular we explore under which conditions the subgraph involving only non-zero m-potent elements is connected and we determine the degrees of its vertices. Moreover, we characterize under which conditions on two rings the corresponding m-clean graphs are isomorphic.

Comment On Shamsaei Et Al. The Role Of Fuel Characteristics And Heat Release Formulations In Coupled Fire-Atmosphere Simulation. Fire 2023, 6, 264, Aurélien Costes, Adam K. Kochanski
Faculty Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activity
Accurate vertical distribution of fire-induced heat fluxes in the atmosphere is critical for realistic coupled fire–atmosphere simulations. In response to concerns raised by Shamsaei et al. (2023) regarding potential energy conservation issues in the WRF-SFIRE heat distribution scheme, this study first conducts a comprehensive theoretical analysis, demonstrating that the original exponential formulation exhibits negligible error under typical domain configurations. Then, it introduces a novel formulation, called the Versatile Energy-Conservative Distribution scheme, that rigorously guarantees energy conservation while providing enhanced flexibility in specifying vertical distribution profiles. The proposed method accommodates multiple profiles, including exponential, Gaussian, and gamma, and enables the independent …

The Supreme Court granted the landlord's motion for summary judgment, dismissing the tenant's complaint. The tenant sued for breach of contract, seeking a leasehold in an adjacent unit, and for breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing. Both claims were dismissed due to the tenant's lack of evidentiary proof and the duplicative nature of the covenant claim. The tenant's harassment claim, based on alleged failure to repair and service disruptions, was barred by res judicata and collateral estoppel, as these issues were fully litigated as an affirmative defense in a prior non-payment action. The harassment claim …

The project of decolonising knowledge has gained renewed prominence as scholars confront enduring epistemic injustices and structural inequalities embedded in global systems of knowledge production. Situated within long-standing anticolonial and postcolonial intellectual struggles, this article interrogates key conceptual dilemmas that continue to shape contemporary debates on decoloniality. Adopting a commentary orientation, it examines what it means to decolonise knowledge by engaging the historical foundations of decolonial thought alongside contemporary critiques that expose the persistence of epistemic hierarchies within modern academic institutions. The article argues that, without conceptual clarity, the decolonial project risks becoming analytically misguided and politically misdirected, potentially reproducing …

Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery using a graphite (Gr.) anode and a lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4, LFP) cathode (Gr.||LFP) has been widespread in energy storage. To match the warranty period of energy storage systems, the lifespan of this kind of Li-ion battery, not only under room temperature but also under relatively high temperature, is critical. Exploration of functional electrolyte additive provides an efficient approach to address this issue. This study reports the usage of pyridine (Py) as a new electrolyte functional additive for Gr.||LFP. In the first cycle, it was found that Py can be reduced before ethylene carbonate and …

Physics and Engineering Science
Particle image velocimetry (PIV) flow measurements are common practice in laboratory settings in a wide variety of fields involving fluid dynamics, including biology, physics, engineering, and medicine. Dynamic fluid pressure is a notoriously difficult property to measure non-intrusively, yet its variation is a driving flow force and critical to model correctly. Techniques have been developed to estimate the pressure from velocity and velocity gradient measurements. Here, we highlight a novel application of boundary conditions when applying such pressure estimation techniques based on two-dimensional PIV data; the novel method is especially relevant to problems with complex boundary conditions. As such, it …

Chemical Technology, Control and Management
In modern digital systems, efficient and reliable information exchange is essential for the stability of corporate systems. Traditional data management models struggle to detect and eliminate invalid, incomplete data at early stages, resulting in reduced accuracy and system inefficiency. This article proposes an advanced framework for controlling information exchange processes through the development of a Verification and Filtering algorithm. The algorithm operates within a multi-layered conceptual model that includes data input, control, validation, optimization, and decision layers. Acting as the core component, the Verification and Filtering algorithm distinguishes valid from invalid records in real time, ensuring data integrity before storage. …

Robotic development started billions of years after earth first began biological prototyping. While the evolutionary process in animals is quite different from robotic prototyping, it still remains no surprise that animals remain more agile, more efficient, and more adaptable than even the most advanced engineered robots to date, simply due to the sheer length of their improvement process. While bridging this improvement gap between deficits in robots and the abilities of animals is difficult, a specific subfield of robotics engineering has attempted to do so using biomimetic robotics. At Portland State, the Agile and Adaptive Robotics Lab (AARL) studies these …
