FPGAs are widely deployed on high-energy astrophysics telescopes to read out sensor data from front-end electronics. To support continuous data streams or high trigger rates, FPGA logic may be employed to process raw sensor readout values, reducing the volume of data transmitted, processed, and stored by downstream CPU-based computational platforms. Across instruments, these FPGA-based processing pipelines often have similar semantics and share common stages. However, diverse telescope designs require unique implementations of the constituent algorithms, and the logic is often rewritten from scratch for a new instrument. Writing, simulating, and debugging firmware is difficult and time consuming. However, High-Level Synthesis …

The spent mushroom substrates (SMS) were used in biogas production, compared to fresh waste blends, biogas volume was higher across all but two treatments. …
Reconceptualizing Political Socialization In The Philippines, Nathan Mishael O. Go
Reconceptualizing Political Socialization In The Philippines, Nathan Mishael O. Go
Social Sciences and Development Review
Political socialization is a lifelong process of learning about political beliefs, attitudes, and motivations. Studies that have attempted to uncover political socialization in the Philippines have associated socialization with political participation and political cynicism; such an association imposes limits on how political socialization is viewed. Thus, this paper attempts to reconceptualize political socialization in the Philippines by introducing nuances and developments in the field of political participation, political socialization, and Philippine society.
Rethinking Governance: Public Choice Theory And The Modern State, John Carlo Colot
Rethinking Governance: Public Choice Theory And The Modern State, John Carlo Colot
Social Sciences and Development Review
This study critically reexamines governance in the modern state through the lens of Public Choice Theory, which challenges the traditional assumption that government officials always act in the public interest. Developed by economists James Buchanan and Gordon Tullock, Public Choice Theory posits that political actors, like individuals in markets, are motivated by self-interest, which can lead to government inefficiencies such as corruption, rent seeking, and policy outcomes that favor private gains over public welfare. By synthesizing recent empirical and theoretical literature from 2020 to 2025, this research explores how individual incentives and institutional arrangements influence bureaucratic behavior, governance styles, and …

How The Coherent Detector Works In Spread Spectrum Signals, Louay Habib Skef, Aymen Mohammed Khodayer, Jenan J. Abdulkareem
Al-Farahidi Expert Systems Journal
This research investigates the detection of direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) signals, comparing the performance of a traditional energy detector with that of a cross-correlation detector. While energy detectors are widely used, they suffer from reduced sensitivity at low signal-to-noise ratios (SNR) and require accurate noise power estimation. In contrast, the cross-correlation detector utilizes the processing gain of DSSS signals to achieve higher detection accuracy without needing prior noise estimation. Using MATLAB simulations, Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curves were generated for both detectors. Results show that the cross-correlation detector achieves up to 30% higher probability of detection (PD) at a …

This study introduces an operational evaluation of a deep learning–driven ionospheric modeling system tailored for Egypt, designed to overcome the limitations of conventional empirical approaches in data-sparse regions. The 3D-DNN Ion-EG model was trained on 737,110 COSMIC-2 radio occultation profiles (2020–2024), integrating spatial temporal coordinates with geophysical drivers to generate high-resolution threedimensional electron density distributions. Validation against the MANS CORS station (Mansoura University) demonstrated strong predictive skill (R2 = 0.9337; r = 0.970) under independent testing. Performance analysis across diverse geophysical regimes confirmed the model’s advantage in capturing storm-time and solar-driven disturbances, surpassing empirical models that perform best only under …

As Mary Shelley unambiguously informs readers on the title page of her 1818 novel Frankenstein, her tale of Victor’s discovery of the secret of non-biological reproduction represents the Promethean myth, a morality tale warning against the usurpation of divine authority. In Shelley’s novel, Victor ultimately recognizes the dangerous path he has discovered, and he refuses to create a female companion for his hideous progeny, risking his own life to protect the world from a potential race of monsters. In the cinematic tradition, however, this unrealized “bride” often has been created, and these fantastic narratives realize the Pygmalion myth, that …

Effectiveness Of Homoeopathic Medicines In Reducing The Size Of Non-Specific Chronic Leg Ulcers - A Single-Arm, Prospective Observational Study, Greeshma Ik, Dastagiri P
Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy
Background: A chronic leg ulcer (CLU) is a chronic wound of the leg that does not tend to heal easily. Venous, arterial insufficiency, diabetes mellitus, or a combination of these factors may cause pain, restricted mobility, impaired social activities, and increased personal expenses, all of which can adversely affect the quality of life. Objectives: To determine the e ectiveness of homoeopathic medicines in reducing the size of non-specific chronic leg ulcers using the Leg Ulcer Measurement Tool (LUMT) and changes in the quality of life by the Euro QoL (EQ-5D-3L) score. Materials and methods: A prospective clinical study was …

The Impact Of Strategic Social Media Guidelines In Healthcare Communication, Margaret Marie Milka Kouassi
2025 Fall Honors Capstones Projects - Archive
This capstone project examines how hospitals can strengthen social media engagement through a structured, research-informed communication guideline. Phase One analyzed randomized hospital social media activity. and found that low engagement was often linked to unclear target audiences, inconsistent messaging, limited planning, and a lack of measurable goals. These results suggested that the issue was not whether hospitals used social media, but how strategically they used it. Phase Two built on these findings by developing and testing a Healthcare Strategic Social Media Guideline. Using applied quantitative design, the study employed two online surveys, administered before and after a two-month implementation period, …
