Artificial Intelligence In Radiology: Hidden Fragilities And The Path To Resilience, Mustafa S. Alhasan

Saudi Medical Journal

Radiology artificial intelligence (AI) is advancing however its adoption faces fragile foundations that threaten sustainability. Despite bold promises of efficiency and accuracy, current deployment is undermined by weaknesses in economics, evidence, infrastructure, human factors, regulation, security, and environmental impact. Nearly 90% of radiology AI studies report process metrics rather than patient outcomes, while hidden costs elevate ownership to 400% to 500% of subscription fees. Technical fragilities include 25% or greater performance loss with routine protocol or scanner shifts, compounded by vendor consolidation that has eliminated 63% of companies since 2020, creating migration costs averaging 180,000 dollars per exit. Human factor …

Regulating Reader(S): Book People V. Wong, Compelled Speech, And Sexually Explicit Library Materials In The Fifth Circuit, Gray Wood

Texas A&M Law Review

This Note analyzes the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals’ recent holding in Book People, Inc. v. Wong, which struck down Texas Education Code Chapter 35. Passed under the 88th Texas Legislature’s READER Act in 2023, Chapter 35 instituted a mandatory rating system that required Texas book vendors to review the books they sold to district schools and open-enrollment charter schools for sexually explicit material. Book vendors banded together to oppose the law, arguing that it constituted compelled speech, a legal doctrine that has come to the forefront of First Amendment fights since the Supreme Court’s 2023 decision in 303 …

Selective Reversal Of Cu-Amyloid Aggregation Monitored In Real Time By Fluorescence Anisotropy: Ni-Bme-Dach Vs Edta Benchmarks, Alyssa N. Schroeder, Eleanor K. Adams, Dane C. Frost, Erica Lopez, Jennie R. Giacomini, Marilyn R. Mackiewicz

Chemistry Faculty Publications and Presentations

Metal dyshomeostasis, particularly involving Cu2+, is increasingly recognized as a key contributor to amyloid-β (Aβ) aggregation and neurotoxicity in Alzheimer’s disease, motivating the development of chelators capable of selectively disrupting pathogenic metal-Aβ interactions without perturbing essential biological metals. Here, we employ steady-state fluorescence anisotropy as a real-time probe of TAMRA-Aβ1–42 rotational mobility to quantify metal-induced aggregation and its reversibility by two chelators with distinct selectivities: EDTA, a broad-spectrum benchmark, and Ni-bme-dach, a sulfur-rich metallodithiolate with high Cu affinity. Cu2+ induces the most significant increases in anisotropy, consistent with rapid formation of large nanoscale aggregates, while Fe3+ produces moderate aggregation and …

The global push for decarbonization has highlighted the need for sustainable heating solutions, particularly in geographically challenging and remote locations such as the Peruvian Andes, where traditional heating methods are inefficient and pollute the environment. Air source heat pumps are a viable solution but come with their own challenges, including cost, access to electricity, and performance degradation at high altitudes. A project is underway to install and evaluate an air-source heat pump at a research station located at an altitude of 4,128 m in Sumbay, Peru. The primary goal of this research is to evaluate and expand existing models that …

Adaptive Focus Agent For Video-Based Software Learning, Shengyang Luo, Yingjie Chen Feb 2026

Adaptive Focus Agent For Video-Based Software Learning, Shengyang Luo, Yingjie Chen

Purdue Polytechnic Graduate Student Poster Symposium

Not every learner has a powerful computer or a dual-monitor setup. Some follow software tutorials with only a laptop, or even a phone, squinting to catch tiny cursor movements and clicks meant for larger screens. These moments slow their progress, break their flow, and make advanced digital skills feel farther away than they should be. Our work aims to explore how an AI-assisted dynamic zoom system can help. By automatically detecting interaction moments and enlarging the relevant region in tutorial videos, we aim to make subtle actions clearer, support confident learning across device conditions, and bring expert-level instruction closer to …

A Crown In Death: An (Expanded) Dramaturgical Approach To The Trojan Women Of Euripides, Stephanie Lester Feb 2026

A Crown In Death: An (Expanded) Dramaturgical Approach To The Trojan Women Of Euripides, Stephanie Lester

Montview Journal of Research & Scholarship

In the action-packed, visually-oriented market for modern media, some may assume a 2,400-year-old Greek tragedy to be slightly past its expiration date, especially if it features little to no action onstage like in Euripides’ The Trojan Women. However, it is important to remember that literature is lost when the world fails to cherish it, so if a text survives that long, it may be worth another cursory glance. In this case, that glance involved a full dramaturgical study featuring qualitative script analysis of multiple translations of The Trojan Women with related texts to explore context, themes, common literary devices, and …

MFA in Creative Writing | Master's Theses

Fragments of the Human Condition: A Collection of Short Stories is a culminating thesis by Daniel R. Mangru that explores the intricate complexities of the human experience through the mundane details of ordinary lives.

Drawing inspiration from the works of Raymond Carver and Rod Serling, this collection of short stories, which includes A Cow on Mars and A Boy and his Donut, offers fragments of an answer to the fundamental question: "What was it like to be human?"

The thesis examines universal themes such as resilience, intimacy, compassion, loneliness, structure, and independence, demonstrating how these aspects of the human …
