Human-Ai Trust Misalignment Detection System: Behavioral Detection Of Over-Reliance On Automated Recommendations, Pranav Bhatnagar Mr
Human-Ai Trust Misalignment Detection System: Behavioral Detection Of Over-Reliance On Automated Recommendations, Pranav Bhatnagar Mr
Defensive Publications Series
This disclosure presents a Human-AI Trust Misalignment Detection System designed to identify and mitigate conditions in which human operators develop excessive or unwarranted reliance on AI generated recommendations within decision workflows. As artificial intelligence systems become increasingly embedded in operational, analytical, and supervisory environments, a critical socio technical vulnerability emerges when human oversight weakens due to overconfidence in automated outputs. Traditional AI safety efforts have largely focused on model robustness, accuracy, and infrastructure security; however, comparatively little attention has been given to monitoring the human behavioral response to AI recommendations in real time. The proposed framework introduces a behavioral analytics …

The Confidence Trap Identifying When Ai Sounds Sure But Is Actually Wrong, Pranav Bhatnagar Mr
Defensive Publications Series
This disclosure introduces a Confidence–Reliability Divergence Detection framework designed to identify conditions in which artificial intelligence systems express high apparent certainty while underlying predictive reliability degrades. As modern AI models increasingly expose probability scores, verbal certainty cues, or calibrated confidence metrics, human operators and downstream systems frequently treat these signals as reliable proxies for correctness. However, real-world deployments demonstrate that model confidence can become systematically misaligned with true performance under conditions such as distribution shift, adversarial prompting, long-context reasoning saturation, data sparsity, or environmental volatility. This divergence creates a subtle but high-impact failure mode in which AI outputs appear authoritative …

A Capability Maturity Model For Artificial Intelligence Integration In Supply Chain Management, Lordt Becklines
A Capability Maturity Model For Artificial Intelligence Integration In Supply Chain Management, Lordt Becklines
Dissertations
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming Supply Chain Management (SCM), yet many organizations struggle to assess their readiness for AI adoption and to understand how AI capabilities develop across maturity stages. This dissertation addresses this gap by developing a Capability Maturity Model (CMM) for AI integration in SCM, grounded in Organizational Information Processing Theory (OIPT), the Resource-Based View, and related capability frameworks. The model provides a structured approach for evaluating an organization's information-processing requirements, resource configurations, and alignment needed for effective AI-enabled supply chain operations.
Using a design science research approach, the AI-SCM CMM and its associated assessment instrument were derived …

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is the most lethal form of pancreatic cancer, with poor prognosis driven by late diagnosis, therapeutic resistance, and an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. Interactions between tumor cells and immune cells promote immune evasion and tumor progression, limiting the efficacy of immune checkpoint blockade and other immunotherapies. Given the high expression of trophoblast cell surface antigen 2 (TROP2) in PDAC, we developed a TROP2-targeted Toll-like receptor 7 (TLR7) agonist (E104) designed for selective accumulation within the tumor microenvironment to activate antitumor immunity. Although antibody bioactivity is traditionally linked to Fcγ receptor (FcγR) engagement and recruitment of effector cells, …

BACKGROUND. The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic provided a rare opportunity to study how human immune responses develop to a novel viral antigen delivered through different vaccine platforms. However, to date, no study has directly compared immune responses to all 3 FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccines at single-cell multiomic resolution.
METHODS. We longitudinally profiled SARS-CoV-2–naive adults (n = 31) vaccinated with BNT162b2, mRNA-1273, or Ad26.COV2.S, integrating plasma cytokines, antibody titers, and single-cell multiomic data (DOGMA-Seq).
RESULTS. We discovered a distinct, transient IFN program termed ISG-dim, which emerged specifically 1–2 days after the first mRNA dose in approximately 10% of myeloid cells. This state was …

Structure–Activity Modeling And Hybrid Machine Learning-Based Prediction Of Bioactivity In Pyrazole Derivatives For Drug Discovery Applications, Kader Şahi̇n, Serhat Kiliçarslan, Serdar Durdaği, Emi̇n Saripinar
Turkish Journal of Biology
Background/aim: Pyrazole derivatives are of growing interest due to their diverse pharmacological activities. However, their biological activity is often highly sensitive to subtle structural modifications. Existing quantitative structure–activity relationships (QSAR) approaches frequently fail to capture the conformational flexibility and nonlinear structure–activity relationships (SAR) of such heterocyclic scaffolds, creating a gap in the accurate prediction of their biological profiles. Therefore, there is a strong need for more robust and predictive computational frameworks. This study addresses this gap by integrating four-dimensional (4D)-QSAR descriptors with hybrid machine learning (ML) techniques to improve predictive accuracy and provide a more reliable tool for structure-based drug …

Green Synthesis And Characterization Of Prepared Copper Iodide (Cui) Nanoparticles Using Red Cabbage Extract, A. S. Abd-Alsada, Zainab J. Shanan, Aqel Mashot Jafar
Baghdad Science Journal
Copper iodide nanoparticles, CuI NPs, are one of the promising materials for use in many electronic applications. In this work, transparent CuI nanoparticles were prepared by the green force synthesis, which was done by red cabbage extract used not only as a reduction but also as a capping agent to reduce the toxicity in the preparation of CuI nanostructures. The structural properties were investigated by the X-ray diffraction analysis technique, XRD. The X-ray analysis shows the structure has a polycrystalline nature with a cubic phase and appears to have a preferential orientation direction along the (111) plane. Atomic force microscopy …

Turkish Journal of Biology
Background/aim: Limited drug development and increased antibiotic tolerance among Gram-negative bacteria have led researchers to consider combination therapy. Actinomycin derivatives, particularly actinomycin D, exhibit a wide range of bioactivities, including antibacterial effects. However, actinomycin D is less effective against Gram-negative pathogens. Therefore, it is essential to demonstrate the synergy of actinomycin D and its derivatives with clinically known antibiotics against Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 and investigate the effects on cellular morphology.
Materials and methods: Streptomyces parvus 35M1 isolated from coastal sediment in İzmir/Türkiye was identified via genome sequencing. Large-scale (30 L) fermentation followed by chromatographic purification yielded compounds 1 (actinomycin …

Climate and atmospheric changes are impacting forest function and structure worldwide, but their effects on tropical forest diversity are unclear. Nowhere is the scientific challenge greater than in the Andes and the Amazon, which together include the world’s most diverse forests. Here, using 406 permanent plots spanning four decades of intact lowland and montane forest dynamics, we test for long-term change in species richness and assess the influence of climate and other variables. We show that, at a continental scale, species richness appears stable, but this masks substantial regional variation. Species richness increased in Northern Andean and Western Amazon plots, …

Short-Term Spark Or Long-Term Flame? Sustaining Academic Psychiatric Departments, Rohit Shankar, Richard Laugharne, Derek K. Tracy, Dinesh Bhugra
Peninsula Medical School
SummaryOver the past two decades, the number of academic psychiatrists in the UK has declined by more than a third, despite an expansion in medical schools and growth in most other medical academic specialties. Drawing on direct experience of establishing a new academic unit, we argue that the long-term sustainability of academic psychiatry departments is critical for service quality, innovation and talent development. This paper outlines the structural, cultural and strategic factors needed to create academic units that endure and flourish beyond individual careers, enabling better integration of research and clinical practice.

Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide, partly because many patients are diagnosed at late stages, highlighting the urgent need for effective early detection and intervention strategies. Low-dose computed tomography (LDCT)-based screening reduces lung cancer mortality in high-risk populations defined by age and smoking history; however, the uptake of LDCT remains low among eligible individuals. Compounding this issue, modelling studies estimate that nearly half of lung cancers occur in individuals who do not meet eligibility criteria for LDCT-based lung cancer screening under current guidelines. Moreover, LDCT-based screening has inherent limitations, including a high rate of false-positive results …

AIMS: In the phase 3 KEYNOTE-689 trial (NCT03765918) among patients with resectable locally advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (LA HNSCC), perioperative pembrolizumab (pembrolizumab before surgery, then continued with standard-of-care [SOC] radiotherapy +/- cisplatin after surgery followed by pembrolizumab alone) significantly prolonged event-free survival vs. SOC alone, both in the intention-to-treat population and PD-L1 combined positive score (CPS) ≥1 subgroup. Perioperative pembrolizumab + SOC received Food and Drug Administration approval in June 2025 for resectable LA HNSCC expressing PD-L1 (CPS ≥ 1). The present study evaluated the cost-effectiveness of perioperative pembrolizumab + SOC versus SOC in this indication, from …

Discrete Quantization On Spherical Geometries: Explicit Models, Computations, And Didactic Exposition, Mrinal Kanti Roychowdhury
School of Mathematical & Statistical Sciences Faculty Publications
This article presents a comprehensive and analytically explicit study of optimal discrete quantization on spherical geometries equipped with the geodesic metric. Focusing on highly symmetric configurations on the unit sphere 𝕊2, we investigate three explicit models of discrete uniform distributions and derive closed-form expressions for their optimal quantizers and corresponding mean square quantization errors. (I) For N equally spaced points on the equator, we obtain exact error formulas for both divisible and non-divisible cases 𝑛 ∤𝑁, demonstrating that optimal Voronoi cells form contiguous arcs with midpoint representatives. (II) For two antipodally symmetric small circles at latitudes ±𝜙0, each with M …
