The Impact Of Macroeconomic Variables On Property Prices In Malaysia During The Covid-19, Nurin Nayli Ahmad, Nurul Sima Mohamad Shariff, Aldo Eko Syaputra
Malaysian Journal of Computing (MJoC)
The housing market is a critical driver of economic growth and a source of financial stability. In Malaysia, residential property prices are influenced by a range of macroeconomic factors, including Gross Domestic Product (GDP), exchange rates, unemployment rates, and wage levels. The COVID-19 pandemic introduced significant disruption and volatility to the Malaysian economy, making it essential to understand the relationships between these factors and property prices. The pandemic's economic challenges, coupled with rising property prices, have exacerbated housing affordability issues. While previous studies focused on long-term trends (1991–2019), there is a gap in understanding the high-frequency (monthly) volatility specifically during …

Integration Of Vision-Language-Action Foundation Models For Adaptive Robotic Arm Control In Manufacturing, Nina C. Kanonye
Undergraduate Honors Theses
Industrial automation increasingly demands robots that can adapt to dynamic environments without extensive reprogramming. Traditional robotic systems perform well in structured, repetitive settings but struggle when workspace configurations change. Programming a robot for each new task requires specialized expertise and significant time, creating a barrier for small and medium manufacturers. While recent VLA models have demonstrated strong capabilities in robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) agents, existing research has rarely focused on the complex and sequential manufacturing tasks for robotic handling, printing, sorting and assembling. This research investigates whether CogACT can be fine-tuned to perform a pick-and-place task on the Yahboom …

Tanycytes are radial glial-like astrocytes whose cell bodies line the third ventricle (3V) with long processes extending into the hypothalamic parenchyma. In adult mice, tanycytes retain stem cell properties, with their daughter cells integrating into the median eminence or mediobasal hypothalamus. Tanycytes are implicated in glucose homeostasis and appetitive behaviors not only via the maintenance of hypothalamic cell populations, but also by their glucose, fatty acid, and hormone-sensing capabilities. Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor 1 (FGFR1) is a tyrosine kinase receptor expressed in neural progenitor cells, including tanycytes, where it induces cell proliferation and therefore plays an integral role in neural …

Apolipoprotein E (APOE) ε4 is the strongest genetic risk factor for Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, it is known that other pathways independent of APOE also play a role in AD. Disentangling APOE-dependent and independent effects is instrumental for understanding the biology of AD. We conducted an APOE-stratified multi-omic analysis in multiple large datasets to identify AD-associated plasma proteins and metabolites. More than 64% of the identified proteins were not found in non-APOE stratified studies, and 17% of the proteins showed APOE-specific trends. Mitochondrial dysfunction was associated in AD independently of APOE and was accompanied by disruptions in glucose and lipid …

Asia Marketing Journal
Recognizing the growing potential of AI-generated chatbots in healthcare and healthcare marketing, this study investigates how different types of chatbot-expressed empathy influence user responses in stigmatized versus non-stigmatized health contexts. Perceived authenticity is introduced as a key mediator. Drawing on Mind Perception Theory, a 3 (empathy: none, cognitive, affective) × 2 (illness type: stigmatized, non-stigmatized) online experiment was conducted. The findings show that affective empathy reduced perceived authenticity, which subsequently decreased user satisfaction, perceived understanding, reuse intention, and follow intention. These indirect effects varied by illness type: in stigmatized contexts, non-empathetic communication was viewed most favorably, whereas in non-stigmatized contexts, …

Are You Ready To Embrace Ai-Generated Art? Exploring The Differential Effects Of Ai Versus Human Agents On Consumer Response, Seojin Stacey Lee, Yaeri Kim, Kiwan Park
Asia Marketing Journal
With a growing integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into creative domains, understanding its impact on consumer responses remains a critical area of inquiry. This research examines how agent type (AI vs. human) and art type (fine art vs. art-infused product) influences consumer purchase intention, along with the underlying psychological mechanism. Across three empirical studies, we find that consumers report higher purchase intention for art-infused products compared to fine art when created by AI. In contrast, this difference in purchase intention is diminished when the products are created by human artists. Perceived incompatibility functions as a moderated mediator in this process. …

Proactive Disruption Of Adversarial Learning Via Systematic Feedback Loop Corruption, Google Case Managers Picozzi, Dishant Mathur
Defensive Publications Series
Modern fraud prevention is often limited by a reactive approach that inadvertently provides training data to adversaries, allowing them to refine tactics whenever a detection signal or account block occurs. To address this feedback loop, a framework is disclosed for the proactive disruption of fraudulent operations by systematically corrupting internal adversarial learning processes. The method involves mapping entry vectors, identifying behavioral heuristics used by operators, and injecting inconsistent success signals, such as decoy enthusiasm and variable response compliance, into the interaction flow. Additionally, operational workflows are desynchronized to increase coordination friction and propagate stress across the scam network. By rendering …

The system converts product title tokens into phonetic representations using Double Metaphone encoding, matches phonetic codes against a known-good product vocabulary, and substitutes corrected tokens before the title enters any downstream normalization or matching pipeline. This enables cross-store product resolution to handle common misspellings such as brand name variants without requiring retraining or vocabulary expansion in the downstream system.
