Journal of Innovation in Health Sciences Education
Introduction: Locating, selecting, and printing appropriate 3D-printed assistive devices (AD) to meet specific health needs can be overwhelming. To address these challenges, the 3DAdapt app was developed. This study aimed to explore the app’s usability through an occupational therapy (OT) student project that involved delivering 3D-printed AD to older adults.
Methods: Over three sessions, OT students collaborated with older adults to provide customized 3D-printed AD. The app’s usability was assessed using a mixed-methods approach, including the System Usability Scale (SUS; scores ≥ 70 indicate usability). Introduction: Limited evidence exists on the use of patient experiences (PE) and experiential learning (EL) in hybrid entry-level physical therapist (PT) education programs. This study explored the impact of PE and EL within immersion labs on student self-confidence and self-efficacy in a hybrid entry-level PT education program. A total of 431 surveys were completed across 8 lab immersions for 6 courses. Nine total focus group discussions occurred, with a total of 50 participants, ranging from 2 to 10 per group.

Background: Children may experience anxiety while hospitalized. This may act as a barrier to participation in occupational therapy (OT) sessions and diminish the benefits of OT. Therefore, occupational therapy practitioners (OTPs) must provide interventions that support mental health and engagement during pediatric hospitalization. This study explored the feasibility of using social robots as OT intervention to reduce anxiety and support engagement in therapy in children admitted to an acute inpatient rehabilitation facility (AIR).

This work is an attempt to remove cadmium (II) from wastewater by adsorption on multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and functional group of carbon nanotubes (fMWCNTs) by using the batch process system and continuous reactor. In the batch reactor, the main variables that govern process efficiency such as the initial Cd (II) concentration, MWCNTs dose, contact time, stirring speed, and pH were studied. The experiments revealed that the amount of cadmium absorption (II) was higher on the increasing fMWCNTs dose and stirring speed. In addition, it decreased significantly with a decrease in the initial concentration of cadmium. The optimum values for …

One of the main use of this tool is to estimate electrical energy demand throughout Al Anbar Governorate, which have major problems in this sector with about 750 to 770 MW. The consumption of the city of Al Ramadi is about 200 MW. In this work, unsaturated polyester, resin, matrix reinforced, with fiberglass mat chopped were developed using TiO2 and SiO2 Nanoparticles as filler materials. The individual and combined effects of nanoparticles on the nanocomposite and material properties were examined. An improvement in Young’s modulus (39,3%) using combined weight of TiO2+ SiO2 was observed to be 3%. Examined nanoparticles have shown normal distribution in grain size indicated to be within standard limit, therefore boosting nanocomposite material to have excellent hardness, roughness, impact, and flexural resistance. This paper proposes an integrated Economic Load Dispatch (ELD) and Automatic Generation Control (AGC) for interconnected power systems. Based on their participation factor determined from the economic load dispatch calculation, each unit shares the total change in the same control region. Optimized Pid Control Of Quadrotor System Using Extremum Seeking Algorithm, Abdullah Muhsen, Safanah Raafat

This paper presents the development of an automatic tuning of conventional PI-D controllers for Quadrotor system. The most critical problem of tuning the parameters of the PID, is that they can drastically affect the performance of the system. Accordingly, Extremum seeking (ES) algorithm is utilized here to reduce a selected cost function that brings the required performance aspects. The results show that the ES-PID controller provides better stability and performance as compared with only PI-D controller. The parameters of ES-PID controller have been successfully tuned and modified to reach the desired destination with significantly less overshoot, oscillations, and faster convergence.

This paper discusses power consumption in the full adder circuit using some fabrication technologies. Though many studies related to power consumption in the full adder circuit were performed, however, few investigations about the effect of the number of bits on the power consumption are addressed.
