An Llm-Based Multi-Agent System For Manufacturing Decision Support: Material–Process Recommendation And Process Parameter Optimization, Geonhwi Lee, Yulseok Byun, Seungjae Han, Martin Byung-Guk Jun, Hae-Jin Choi
MMRL-XMO Industrial Seminar
As product fabrication environments become increasingly diverse, there is a growing need for decision support that connects users’ fabrication intents and requirements to appropriate manufacturing conditions. In this study, we propose an LLM-based multi-agent system for manufacturing decision support that systematically supports material and process recommendation, equipment selection, process parameter optimization, and result prediction. The proposed system utilizes manufacturing literature and technical documents through RAG-based manufacturing knowledge retrieval and excludes low-relevance documents before response generation by verifying the relevance of retrieved documents to the user query. In addition, it explores support relationships among materials, processes, and equipment based on a …

Multi-Scale In-Situ Powder Stream Characterization For Laser Directed Energy Deposition, Guang Yang, Clara Mock, Salil Bapat, Ajay Malshe
MMRL-XMO Industrial Seminar
Powder stream quality in laser directed energy deposition (L-DED) is a critical determinant of deposition consistency and final part quality, yet it remains largely uncharacterized in real-time during operation. This paper presents a dual-scale, vision-based in-situ characterization framework that addresses powder stream monitoring at two complementary levels: macro-scale flow quality assessment for real-time process monitoring and micro-scale particle tracking for digital twin data acquisition. Both scales are implemented on a single high-speed camera reconfigured between two resolution and frame-rate settings, eliminating the need for dedicated multi-camera infrastructure. At the macro scale, an OpenCV-based image processing pipeline operating at 1280 × …
A Practical Digital Twin Framework For Safe Human-Robot Collaboration In Resilient In-House Manufacturing, Harshkumar K. Parmar, Shivakumar Raman
A Practical Digital Twin Framework For Safe Human-Robot Collaboration In Resilient In-House Manufacturing, Harshkumar K. Parmar, Shivakumar Raman
MMRL-XMO Industrial Seminar
Recent supply-chain disruptions and growing interest in domestic production have renewed attention to in-house manufacturing systems that are flexible, practical, and easier to deploy. Human-robot collaboration (HRC) is a promising option in such settings because it combines human adaptability and judgment with robotic precision and repeatability [1], [2]. Still, broader use of HRC in smaller or resource-constrained manufacturing environments is often limited by safety concerns, coordination challenges, and the cost and complexity of implementation. This paper presents a practical digital twin framework for safe human-robot collaboration in resilient in-house manufacturing. The contribution of the paper is not a generic three-layer …

Photopolymerization-Based Additive Manufacturing Of Glass Microsphere-Filled Composites, Nzube Udegbunam, Amy Peterson, Christopher Hansen, Pauline Smith, Alireza Amirkhizi, Ian Mcaninch
MMRL-XMO Industrial Seminar
Composite systems offer significant advantages in tailoring mechanical properties across a component; however, the influence of additive manufacturing techniques on the microstructure, cure behavior, and performance of such materials remains insufficiently understood, particularly for photocurable polymer composites. This study investigates the fabrication and characterization of polymer composites reinforced with glass microspheres using two additive manufacturing techniques, specifically UV-assisted Direct Ink Writing (DIW) and Digital Light Processing (DLP). Interestingly, we observe large differences in tensile properties between DLP specimens fabricated using different printers, indicating that individual printer design is an important consideration. We also demonstrate that the same polymer feedstock can …
How Do Mainstream Newspapers In Sweden And The United Kingdom Compare In Their Framing Of 2024-2025 Gang Violence As A “Security Threat” Linked To Migration?, Ria Vlachos

Project Chimaera: Development Of A Tessellated Tetrahedral Truss Structure For Adaptive Multi-Regime Morphing Wing Technology, Evan Meyer, Eric Rodarte, Maximo Failla, Joshua Shuster, Jackson G. Schuler
Discovery Day - Daytona Beach
Project Chimaera: Physical Assembly of tessellated tetrahedral wing for Multi-Regime Flight. Modern Aircrafts lose aerodynamic efficiency because they are primarily made utilizing fixed wings which are designed for a single optimal flight condition. This forces an aircraft’s performance to become compromised across various speed maneuvers and flight regimes. Project Chimaera addresses this limitation through the development of a morphing wing capable of dynamically changing its geometry extensively during flight to allow an aircraft to travel between subsonic, supersonic, and hypersonic speeds. Whereas traditional wings rely on wing flaps and other flight controls; Project Chimaera addresses the limitation of flight controls …
Applications Of A Swarm-Behavior Model On Existing Satellite Constellations, Naomi Lee
Applications Of A Swarm-Behavior Model On Existing Satellite Constellations, Naomi Lee
Discovery Day - Daytona Beach
The scope of this work explores biological swarm behavior and its application to low- and medium-sized Earth orbit satellite constellation systems. Existing constellation structures have predetermined orbits, meaning there is little adaptivity in the spacing and interactions between satellites. This allows for formation disruption by atmospheric perturbations in lower Earth orbit trajectories but can be countered with interactive controls that help with structure stability. This adaptive spacing and control can also be applied in MEO constellations in coverage and positioning optimization. In ‘mimicking’ this swarm behavior in starling murmurations, the separation, alignment, and cohesion flocking behavior of satellite groupings will …

Helio: Heliophysics Enhanced Learning For Intelligent Orbits, Kylie Nager, James Kirk
Helio: Heliophysics Enhanced Learning For Intelligent Orbits, Kylie Nager, James Kirk
Discovery Day - Daytona Beach
HELIO: Heliophysics Enhanced Learning for Intelligent Orbits Satellite constellations operating in near-Earth space are increasingly vulnerable to space weather disturbances, such as solar flares, coronal mass ejections (CMEs), and high-speed solar wind streams, which degrade communications, destabilize attitude control, and accelerate orbital decay. These disturbances directly threaten mission continuity, constellation availability, and space asset survivability. Current protective approaches rely primarily on ground-based alerts and lack integration with broader space domain awareness, which results in programmed reactive protocols that are often initiated too late to prevent performance degradation and asset loss. The HELIO project addresses this gap by turning space-weather forecasts …

Feasibility Of High-Throughput Onboard Ai For Mars Rovers Under Solar Constraints, Aashman Gupta
Discovery Day - Daytona Beach
This project evaluates the feasibility of sustained onboard AI autonomy for a solar-powered Mars rover by directly linking solar energy availability to achievable compute performance. While Mars solar irradiance and edge computing performance have been studied independently, no unified framework currently couples surface power generation to autonomy throughput in an experimentally validated manner. The project will begin with a simulation of solar power generation for a 1 m² rover-mounted array across a Martian sol, accounting for seasonal variation, dust opacity, and array configuration (fixed versus sun-tracking). The resulting power profile will then be coupled to representative compute platforms running autonomy …

Journal of South Carolina Water Resources
The Southeastern U.S., despite its humid climate, experiences recurrent meteorological droughts which impact agricultural, water resources, ecological systems, and the economy and society. Knowledge of future drought conditions can guide adaptation efforts. Here, we evaluate historical and projected droughts using the Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) and the Standardized Precipitation-Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) computed from an ensemble of eight bias-corrected Global Climate Models (GCMs) from the Climate Model Intercomparison Phase-6 (CMIP6). The historical performance (1950–2014) of the GCM’s mean was benchmarked against gridded observations from the Climate Research Unit (CRU). Future changes were assessed under 1.5°C, 2.0°C, and 3.0°C global warming levels. We …

Linear media consumption can be a passive experience, and some interactive media formats may be limited by pre-scripted decision trees. This disclosure describes systems and methods for the generative alteration of media streams. A system can analyze a playing media program's visual, auditory, and metadata streams to build a temporal, multimodal understanding of the narrative context. When a user provides an open-ended query, such as a what-if scenario, the system can use this ingested context to interpret the request and a generative rendering engine may synthesize a new, stylistically coherent audio-visual segment reflecting the proposed alteration. This approach can allow …
The Helical Manifold Hypothesis: Time As A Latency Function Of Volumetric Quantum Wave Collapse, Christopher L. Eckes
The Helical Manifold Hypothesis: Time As A Latency Function Of Volumetric Quantum Wave Collapse, Christopher L. Eckes
Defensive Publications Series
This paper introduces the Helical Manifold Hypothesis (HMH), a unified geometric and informational framework that models 3D space and linear time as emergent macroscopic phenomena derived from a fundamental, timeless 2D quantum substrate. We propose that baseline energy fields exist on this substrate as highly coiled, localized topological structures. Upon interaction or observation, these wave functions undergo an asymmetric volumetric collapse, uncoiling outward into 3D space to form a visible matter vector, while their anti-matter counterparts remain anchored to the negative side of the substrate. This split establishes physical spacetime coordinates (x, y, z, t). Under this framework, linear time …

Architectural Framework For Decentralized Satellite Routing Schemas And Global Commons Connectivity (Apip-3), Christopher L. Eckes
Defensive Publications Series
This specification formalizes the network transport and routing topologies of the Global Architecture for Planetary Infrastructure Parity (APIP-3). It defines the Universal Civic Identity and Voting Application (UCIVA) transport framework, engineered to bypass state-level telecommunication shutdowns, Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) firewalls, and terrestrial routing interdictions.
APIP-3 implements an un-jammable, asynchronous, Delay-Tolerant Network (DTN) utilizing a cascading local mobile Peer-to-Peer (P2P) mesh topology that interfaces natively with an orbital Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation. By utilizing hardware-bound, non-biographical cryptographic identity proofs generated via device secure enclaves, APIP-3 creates a zero-knowledge planetary consensus network.
This infrastructure decouples citizen-tier regulatory input from state-controlled …
Global Architecture For Trans-National Informational Infrastructure And Sovereign Risk Mitigation (Apip-1), Christopher L. Eckes
Global Architecture For Trans-National Informational Infrastructure And Sovereign Risk Mitigation (Apip-1), Christopher L. Eckes
Defensive Publications Series
This specification establishes the Architecture for Planetary Infrastructure Parity (APIP-1), a deterministic, multi-layered technical framework engineered to eliminate the systemic risks of runaway, machine-velocity autonomous cyber-escalation. As distributed artificial intelligence systems reach agentic execution speeds that operate independently of human cognitive and diplomatic processing intervals, traditional international treaties become structurally obsolete. APIP-1 resolves this enforcement gap by embedding the Multi-Agent Symmetry of Agency Protocol (MSAP) directly into the firmware and core routing layers of the global digital commons.
By employing non-interactive zero-knowledge telemetry verification (zk-SNARKs), this framework allows sovereign states and multinational corporate entities to continuously audit cross-border system behaviors …

Defensive Publications Series
This specification defines a hyper-precise spatiotemporal time-keeping and phase-alignment operating system designed to mitigate sub-nanosecond relativistic drift across distributed interplanetary optical channels. Referencing localized clock cycles directly to Barycentric Coordinate Time (TCB) at a femtosecond resolution threshold (10^-15 s), the architecture dynamically tracks Einsteinian kinematic and gravitational dilation variables across multi-body space matrices. Traditional communications engineering employs reactive, post-receiver digital signal processing to reconstruct distorted signal paths. This framework applies inverse design methodologies, utilizing known-outcome trapping vectors to pre-distort near-infrared laser wavefront phase structures at the transmitter terminal. By computing localized space-time curvature tensors along the projected light travel path, …

Defensive Publications Series
This specification defines an energy-optimized, ultra-precise spatiotemporal tracking and communication operating system for deep space laser networks. Traditional space communication systems rely on active tracking methods, forcing heavy motorized gimbals to continuously move and shake to counteract planetary motion. This approach introduces gimbal jitter, limits data link density, and causes severe energy depletion that challenges long-duration flights.
This architecture introduces a dual-mode redundant framework that establishes Known-Outcome Trapping (The Ambush Method) as the primary operational state. Utilizing the predictable laws of Keplerian mechanics, nodes project future multi-body path intersections years in advance down to the millimeter. Rather than chasing a …

Technical Specification: A High-Latitude Keplerian Optical Mesh Array With Integrated Multi-Sensor Biosignature And Hydrological Detection Arrays For System-Wide Interplanetary Data Ingress, Christopher L. Eckes
Defensive Publications Series
This specification defines an integrated architectural design for deep space communication and planetary exploration. It replaces traditional standalone, single-point-of-failure space missions with an interconnected, system-wide, self-healing network topology.
Traditional radio frequency (RF) communications in the ecliptic plane suffer from severe data chokepoints driven by the Inverse-Square Law, solar plasma interference, and planetary occlusions. This architecture resolves these constraints by deploying a constellation of non-coplanar satellites into high-latitude, critical-inclination ($i = 63.435^\circ$) Keplerian frozen orbits around target planets. This orbital geometry provides continuous, line-of-sight laser (optical) links entirely above the flat, crowded ecliptic plane, enabling high-gigabit data transmission velocities.

Influence Of National Policies In Addressing Intimate Partner Violence In Sierra Leone, Yatta Matilda Musa
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Intimate partner violence (IPV) has been shown to be a critical public health and human rights crisis in Sierra Leone driven by patriarchal sociocultural norms. However, despite legislative frameworks like the Domestic Violence Act of 2007, IPV incidents continue to rise, revealing a gap in policy implementation and real-world enforcement. Past research has documented IPV prevalence, yet an empirical evaluation assessing how stakeholders viewed the impact of national policies on prevention and response had not been conducted. The purpose of this study was to explore frontline stakeholders' perceptions regarding the operational influence of existing IPV policies. Grounded in the narrative …

Interplay Between Patterning And Morphogenesis During Zebrafish Embryonic Development, Chia-Teng Chang
Arts & Sciences Graduate Student Theses and Dissertations
Patterning and morphogenesis occur concurrently during embryonic development. In many contexts, both processes are regulated by morphogen signaling: morphogens specify spatially organized cell identities while also influencing the cell behaviors that shape tissues. This creates a reciprocal problem. Morphogen signaling can affect how cells move, while cell movement can change how cells experience and interpret morphogen signals. This dissertation investigates this reciprocal problem during zebrafish gastrulation and neurulation. First, it examines how the ventral-to-dorsal bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) activity gradient regulates germ-layer morphogenesis during gastrulation. BMP signaling is known to pattern dorsal–ventral cell fate and regulate mesodermal convergence and extension …
