Key Strategies To Entrepreneurial Sustainability In The Information And Communications Industry, Agabi Godwin Onugba

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

Many businesses in the information and communications industry fail within the first 5 years, yet the existing empirical research has not sufficiently explained how surviving businesses achieve long-term sustainability. Startup business leaders are concerned about the high failure rate and the lack of evidence-based strategies that support sustained operations beyond 5 years. Grounded in Porter’s five forces theory, the purpose of this qualitative pragmatic inquiry project was to identify and explore successful strategies that information and communications industry startup business leaders use for long-term business sustainability beyond 5 years. Purposeful sampling was employed to select six startup leaders in the …

Education To Nursing Staff On Evidence-Based Lifestyle Interventions For Hypertension, Meagan Deese Feb 2026

Education To Nursing Staff On Evidence-Based Lifestyle Interventions For Hypertension, Meagan Deese

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

This Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) project was a staff education project that addressed a practice gap in a primary care setting related to limited nursing knowledge of evidence-based lifestyle interventions for hypertension management. Hypertension is a prevalent chronic condition and a major contributor to cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Although clinical guidelines recommend lifestyle modification as first-line management, nurses may receive limited formal training in nonpharmacologic interventions. The practice-focused question was, in a primary care setting, does a nursing education program on evidence-based lifestyle interventions for hypertension improve nursing knowledge as measured pre- to post education? The purpose of the …

Drug repurposing is the process of reusing existing pharmaceuticals for novel clinical purposes, which offers advantages such as streamlined clinical trial access and reduced drug development costs. Clarithromycin (CAM), a member of the macrolide antibiotics family, is a promising candidate for repurposing in cancer therapy due to its known preclinical and clinical immunomodulatory and anticancer properties. In the current study, we investigated whether CAM could be repurposed as a preventive treatment for KRAS-mutant lung cancer, a subtype of lung adenocarcinoma that is strongly associated with heavy smoking. CCSPCre; LSL-KrasG12D mice at an early stage of tumor development were treated with …

Understanding Affective Job Satisfaction Among K–12 General Education Teachers: The Roles Of Personality And Job Characteristics, Kailey Thornton Feb 2026

Understanding Affective Job Satisfaction Among K–12 General Education Teachers: The Roles Of Personality And Job Characteristics, Kailey Thornton

Electronic Theses and Dissertations Archive

Understanding predictors of affective job satisfaction among teachers is essential for fostering positive school climates and retaining effective educators. While existing research has identified various predictors of teacher job satisfaction, many studies have not used a comprehensive model that includes both individual and job characteristics. Given the unique nature of the teaching profession, it is often examined separately from other occupations, with a tendency to treat the challenges of teaching as inherent and unchangeable aspects of the role. However, by applying a broader occupational lens, this study aims to view teaching through the same framework used to understand job satisfaction …

School of Nursing and Midwifery

Objectives This process evaluation explores patient and healthcare professional acceptability of community-based monitoring versus hospital-based care for patients with quiescent neovascular age-related macular degeneration (QnAMD). Design Qualitative process evaluation was conducted as part of a randomised controlled trial. Setting Six hospitals and six community-based practices. Participants 25 patients and 16 healthcare professionals (ophthalmologists and optometrists). This approach helped differentiate between common issues and those specific to community-based monitoring. Intervention The Quality-Assured Follow-Up of QnAMD by non-medical practitioners trial aimed to examine whether non-medical practitioners follow-up patients with QnAMD in the community in a safe and clinically and cost-effective way. The …

The Heart’S Hidden Influencer: Epicardial Adipose Tissue In The Pathogenesis Of Heart Failure, Aobo Li, Avilash Mondal, Jianli Zhao, John Zhang, Xin-Liang Ma

Department of Emergency Medicine Faculty Papers

Abstract – Heart failure (HF) is a complex, multifactorial clinical syndrome with diverse etiologies and phenotypic manifestations, affecting millions of people globally. HF is broadly classified into 3 subtypes: HF with reduced ejection fraction, HF with mildly reduced ejection fraction, and HF with preserved ejection fraction. Each subtype exhibits distinct pathophysiological mechanisms, clinical trajectories, and therapeutic responses, posing significant challenges in terms of diagnosis and management. Epicardial adipose tissue (EAT), a metabolically active visceral fat depot situated in close proximity to the myocardium, plays a dual role in physiological and pathological states, offering potential utility as a biomarker and therapeutic …

Achieving Dynamic Urpf With Route Scale Optimizations, Anonymous Feb 2026

Achieving Dynamic Urpf With Route Scale Optimizations, Anonymous

Defensive Publications Series

Systems and methods are disclosed for achieving dynamic Unicast Reverse Path Forwarding (uRPF) with route scale optimizations in an IP routing device, in which ingress traffic is sampled and analyzed to detect conditions indicative of source address spoofing or related attacks, and upon detecting such a condition, a control plane automatically enables uRPF at a selected scope including globally, per virtual routing and forwarding instance (VRF), and/or per interface, and subsequently disables uRPF once the attack condition subsides for at least a configured inactivity interval. Because enabling uRPF can reduce the maximum number of routes installable in a hardware forwarding …

Efficient Machine Learning And Serving Using Disjoint Hamiltonian Cycles, N/A Feb 2026

Efficient Machine Learning And Serving Using Disjoint Hamiltonian Cycles, N/A

Defensive Publications Series

The technology described in this paper relates to the use of disjoint Hamiltonian cycles to support asymmetric communication patterns effectively while maintaining desirable latency control properties of direct-connect topologies. The technique used in this paper dynamically re-maps fixed disjoint dimensions of a direct-connect topology into a flexible set of disjoint Hamiltonian cycles that can trade network dimensions and the bandwidth-per-dimension to support asymmetric communication patterns. The mapping of the asymmetric network onto Hamiltonian cycles enables dividing the workload across Hamiltonian cycles of equal length.

Pipelined Execution Of Attention And Feed-Forward Network Operations On Heterogeneous Cores For Llm Decode Acceleration, N/A Feb 2026

Pipelined Execution Of Attention And Feed-Forward Network Operations On Heterogeneous Cores For Llm Decode Acceleration, N/A

Defensive Publications Series

The technology described in this paper relates to maximization of resource utilization for transformer based large language models (LLMs), specifically during an autoregressive decode phase. For the decode phase, each layer of a transformer model is primarily composed of two distinct computational blocks, an attention operator block and a feed-forward network (FFN) operator block. The attention operator block is overwhelmingly memory-bandwidth bound. In contrast, the FFN operator block is largely compute-bound, and the computations are dominated by large dense matrix multiplications. A chip architecture may be provided that contains at least two types of specialized co-located cores, a first core …
