A Grounded Theory Study Of Parent Social Support For Peer-Victimized Children, Madeline Glawe Mar 2026

A Grounded Theory Study Of Parent Social Support For Peer-Victimized Children, Madeline Glawe

Dissertations (1934 -)

Peer-victimization/bullying (PVB) is a common adverse childhood experience associated with significant psychosocial consequences including mental health concerns (e.g., internalizing problems, anxiety, depression), behavioral problems, and poorer academic outcomes. Although existing research has established that parental social support serves as a protective factor for victimized children, little research has explored how parents provide support over time, how their internal experiences shape their provision of support, and how parents make decisions about the support they are delivering. This dissertation used Constructivist Grounded Theory to explore the process through which parents provided social support to children experiencing PVB. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with …

Efficacy Of Individualised Homoeopathic Medicines As An Adjunct To Conventional Iron And Folic-Acid Supplementation In Iron Deficiency Anaemia Among Reproductive-Aged Women: Single-Blind, Randomised, Placebo-Controlled Trial, Avidipta Hazra, Tanmay Sarkar, Debarsi Das, Rakesh Ghosh, Chandrani Ghosh

Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy

Background: Iron deficiency anaemia (IDA) is a major public health concern affecting women of reproductive age globally. If left untreated, it can cause various health issues including fatigue, shortness of breath, abnormal heart rhythms, chest pain, and complications during pregnancy. Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy of individualised homoeopathic medicines (IHMs) with iron and folic acid supplement (IFS) in treatment of iron deficiency among reproductive-aged women, in comparison with placebos with IFS. Methods: Single-blind, randomised, placebo-controlled clinical trial was conducted over total six months at the outpatient-department, of which participants received interventions and outcome assessments for three months. Reproductive women (15–49 …

Panic Disorder Treated With Individualised Homoeopathic Medicines: A Case Series, Hima Bindu Ponnam, Gr Kiranmayee Rompicherla Mar 2026

Panic Disorder Treated With Individualised Homoeopathic Medicines: A Case Series, Hima Bindu Ponnam, Gr Kiranmayee Rompicherla

Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy

Introduction: Panic disorder is one category of generalised anxiety disorder that is commonly reported in a majority of the outpatient departments of primary care hospitals, especially in the COVID-19 post-pandemic era. Although its prevalence is lower compared to other anxiety disorders, panic disorder remains a serious concern, as it often leads to cardiorespiratory emergencies; therefore, prompt recognition and timely management are crucial. Since the first-line pharmacological interventions of modern medicine are expensive and associated with certain undesirable side effects, the homoeopathic system of medicine appears to be a safer and more economical alternative in such cases. Keeping this in view, …

Operation Overload - Matryoshka's Next Layer, Leland Fecher, Patrick Warren, Laura Adams, Bb Fonseca, Kylie Gilbert, Alexa Gubanich, Lexi Katramados, Miles Rockow, Alexander Sharp, Katelyn Smith, Lee White

Media Forensics Hub Creative Inquiry Reports

For this project our team expanded our search for inauthentic actors to new locations, specifically Bluesky. With the help of internet watchdogs Antibot4Navalny and dTeam, we began investigating a network known as “Matryoshka”1, aka “Operation Overload”2, aka “Storm-1679.”3 We discovered the network was stealing the identities of moderately known people of influence ranging from political candidates to university staff members. Because Twitter/X users had not created versions of themselves on Bluesky, due to its relatively new arrival on the social media scene, their identities were ripe for the taking by nefarious actors. During the time we observed this campaign (January …

Scarcity Rewritten: Revenue Tracking As A Catalyst For Growth Mindset And Financial Control, Christian M. Pearson Mar 2026

Scarcity Rewritten: Revenue Tracking As A Catalyst For Growth Mindset And Financial Control, Christian M. Pearson

Undergraduate Honors Theses

While revenue tracking is a widely recognized “best practice” for businesses in developed economies, it is far from a universal practice. In Cambodia and other emerging markets, many small business owners do not track revenue or expenses, which may limit their ability to make sound financial decisions and reinforce psychological responses consistent with chronic resource scarcity. This article examines the effects of a business support intervention in which Cambodian business owners participated in an 8-week program designed to help them calculate profits by tracking revenue, variable costs, and fixed costs. Findings from a randomized field experiment show that business owners …

Holistic Approach Of Homoeopathy In Treatment Of Multimorbidity: A Case Report, Divya Verma, Nitin Kumar Saklani, Arun Kumar

Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy

Introduction: Multimorbidity, a rise in all ages, is a challenge for health care systems that are focused on single-disease management. Homoeopathy has shown competence in the management of chronic diseases, whether they occur as a single ailment or as multimorbidities. Case Summary: A 25-year-old female suffering from symptoms of PCOS, like irregular menses, secondary dysmenorrhea and secondary amenorrhea, along with chronic migraine visited the OPD. She also developed renal calculi during the previous homoeopathic treatment. Her condition improved through homoeopathic medicines Pulsatilla and Lycopodium. The case is reported according to HOM-CASE guidelines. The assessment of causal attribution of homoeopathic …

Standardizing Data-Sharing And Communication Procedures Among Healthcare Providers To Enhance Disaster Response, Bahaeldin Mahmoud Mar 2026

Standardizing Data-Sharing And Communication Procedures Among Healthcare Providers To Enhance Disaster Response, Bahaeldin Mahmoud

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

Effective data sharing during disasters remains an unresolved administrative challenge for acute care hospitals, as fragmented communication directly affects patient safety and impacts vulnerable populations. This study identified gaps in hospitals' alignment with the Emergency Management Conditions of Participation standards. This integrative review applied a Complex Adaptive Systems conceptual framework to analyze the interdependent technological, governance, and human factors that cause systemic failures. The purpose of the review was to determine actionable administrative strategies that enhance data-sharing resilience. The guiding question examined barriers to standardized data sharing and communication in disaster preparedness and the approaches to address them. The methodology …

Elementary Administrators’ Use Of Positive Behavioral Interventions And Supports As A School Reform Model For Discipline, Rashida Patrecé Lee Mar 2026

Elementary Administrators’ Use Of Positive Behavioral Interventions And Supports As A School Reform Model For Discipline, Rashida Patrecé Lee

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

The problem that was addressed through this study was that elementary administrators struggle to implement the positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) framework as a school reform model for discipline at a Southern school district (SSD). Grounded in Bandura’s theory on social learning, the purpose of this qualitative study was to explore elementary administrators’ perceptions of their successes, challenges, and recommendations for using the PBIS framework as a school reform model for discipline in the SSD. For this basic qualitative design, semistructured interviews were conducted with 12 administrators that implemented the PBIS framework in their schools. Through thematic analysis using …

Department of Medical Oncology Faculty Papers

Background: Fasting-based interventions are increasingly investigated as adjuncts to cancer treatment for the potential to reduce therapy-related toxicities, improve metabolic health, and enhance quality of life. However, clinical evidence regarding their efficacy, tolerability, and acceptability remains limited and fragmented. This scoping review aimed to systematically map the current evidence on fasting-based interventions in cancer patients and survivors.

Methods: A literature search was conducted in PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and CINAHL up to 10 June 2025. Eligible interventional studies included cancer patients or survivors and evaluated fasting-based interventions, such as time-restricted eating, intermittent fasting, short-term fasting, or fasting-mimicking …

What Is The Contribution Of Thermal Selection To The Maintenance Of A Shell Color Cline In Littorina Saxatilis?, Ramón Vigo, Sarah L.Y. Lau, Juan Gefaell, Juan Galindo, Gray A. Williams, Manuela Truebano, Emilio Rolán-Alvarez

School of Biological and Marine Sciences

The study of clines, or geographical variations of a given trait, can help understand how the interactions of genetics and local environments determine phenotypic diversity. The marine snail Littorina saxatilis (Olivi, 1792) exhibits a gradual change in the relative frequencies of shell color morphs across populations in the estuary system of the Rias Baixas (Galicia, NW Iberian Peninsula). A consistent pattern of distribution occurs across these four Rias, with the interior, sheltered regions dominated by a light fawn-like morph (fulva), and the exterior, wave-exposed locations by a darker lineated morph (lineata). Measurements of rock surface temperature along one of the …
