Much attention has been paid to the unknown First Amendment permissibility of the government regulating social media platforms' carriage practices. The Supreme Court's impending resolution of the NetChoice cases poses a high-stakes First Amendment question: "Can the government permissibly dictate what types of content platforms publish?"

But how did the First Amendment stakes in NetChoice get so high? This Article identifies a long-standing gap in the Supreme Court's First Amendment jurisprudence for platform regulation following its decision in Reno v. ACLU. This Article attributes that gap to the accumulation of both interpretive and legislative debts by Section 230 of the …

Optimisation Of The Resilience Of A Wireless Mesh Network For Disaster Scenarios Through Network Functions Virtualisation With Distributed Orchestration, Gregor Frick

School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics Theses

Wireless multi-radio outdoor-routers are building a multi-channel wireless mesh network (WMN), used as an emergency communication infrastructure for rescue-helpers and victims when a disaster destroys the existing communication infrastructure. The architecture for the WMN is based on a clustering concept, which defines a different wireless channel for each cluster. This provides a high throughput WMN with minimal interference for IP-based communication. The service provisioning within the network is achieved by integrating Network Functions Virtualisation (NFV) into the network. For this aspect, the hardware resources of the routers are utilised to establish the required NFV infrastructure (NFVI), which is used for …

Role Of Β4b-Tubulin (Tubb4b) In The Sensory System And Spermatogenesis, Urikhan Sanzhaeva

Graduate Theses, Dissertations, and Problem Reports (ETD)

Microtubules are ubiquitous cytoskeletal filaments essential in the function of eukaryotic cells. These polymers, comprised of αβ-tubulin heterodimers, are critical for cell division, intracellular transport, and formation of the axonemes of cilia and flagella. This functional diversity of microtubules is attributed to the incorporation of various α- and β-tubulin isotypes encoded by different genes. Indeed, mutations in human tubulin genes have been linked to various tissue-specific diseases, suggesting a unique function for each tubulin isotype. Mutations in the β4B-tubulin gene (TUBB4B) are associated with sensorineural hearing loss, Leber Congenital Amaurosis (LCA), a severe childhood blindness, and primary ciliary dyskinesia …
