A History Of The Pacific Northwest District Conference Of The Evangelical Free Church Of America, Robert A. Rapp Apr 1976

A History Of The Pacific Northwest District Conference Of The Evangelical Free Church Of America, Robert A. Rapp

Western Evangelical Seminary Theses

The Evangelical Free Church of America is a merger. It should be noted that the Free Church groups that merged in 1950 to form the Evangelical Free Church of America, each had early beginnings in the Northwest.

The first Free Evangelical witness in the Pacific Northwest occurred in the decade of the 1880s, following the historic meetings of organization at Boone, Iowa, and Boston, Massachusetts in 1884. The first churches of both the Swedish and Norwegian-Danish groups were centered in the Seattle-Tacoma area. Progress and growth were impeded in those early days by language and distance barriers. By the time …

Material presented is useful as a training manual for new personnel as well as a reference source for established personnel of the department. The reader should note the use of the term representative, for it refers to area representatives and regional directors alike.

Report On The Chorti-Maya Indians Of Guatemala With Special Reference To The California Friends Mission, Harold Thomas

Historical Quaker Books

The Chorti-Mayan Indians of Guatemala interested me for several reasons. I had lived among them for a year and a half in a work program as a conscientious objector to war. During that time, I became more and more actively involved in the mission program of the California Yearly Meeting of Friends Church. Nearly all my extra time came to be taken up in youth meetings, camping programs and personal friendships.

While a student in the School of World Mission., Fuller Theological Seminary, my interest deepened. During my stay in Guatemala a great many people in one concentrated area accepted …

A Survey Of Christian Holiness Association Affiliate Churches In California Relating To Cooperative Planning, Roger Kenneth Blake

Western Evangelical Seminary Theses

Beginning January , 1973 , a cooperative minister's magazine was published . Perhaps this movement of cooperation will soon be seen more dramatically at the district and local levels . If so, one of the first goals must be that of comity re …
