Wacana, Journal of the Humanities of Indonesia
Wayang, as a traditional performing art in Indonesia, continues to develop through various forms of experimentation. One example is the Wayang Lostang YouTube channel, developed by Samuel Indratma through the animation project Sintren, save the planet in collaboration with students from SMK Komputama Majenang. Distribution through YouTube indicates that the transformation of wayang is not merely visual but is also a collective cultural practice grounded in social relations, reflecting cultural commoning in the Indonesian context. This study aims to understand how these practices operate through production, social relations, and the formation of cultural meaning in digital circulation. The research employs …

Sacred Commoning In Indonesia; Faith, Media, And Affective Praxis For Environmental Justice, Najwa A. Nadia
Wacana, Journal of the Humanities of Indonesia
This article analyses how commoning practices are mobilized to address ecological problems in Indonesia and highlights the contributions of youth and faith-based initiatives in the process, focusing on their inventive use of media, cultural, and religious forms. Based on two case studies of a community-run festival in Yogyakarta and a waqf forest project in Bogor, it traces how environmental activism becomes a vigorous arena for intersectoral collaboration, new communal imaginaries, and affective and spiritual reorientations. Situating them in the broader literatures on commoning, affect, media, and religion, the article proposes the idea of sacred commoning to describe the affective processes …

Creating A Unique Hemoglobin-Based Oxygen Carrier, Clayton Fuller
Celebrating Scholarship and Creativity Day (2018-)
The purpose of this thesis is to explain the current state of alternative oxygen carriers and propose a new hemoglobin-based oxygen carrier (HBOC) as a blood substitute/ blood therapeutic. Blood donation has drawbacks: risk of spread of infection, short storage time, and blood typing, and the current shortage. There are several possible modifications for hemoglobin to create a carrier (HBOC) which address specific issues related to allowing free hemoglobin to exist extra cellularly. One issue to address is vasoconstriction caused by nitric oxide scavenging, which has been solved by increasing the molecular weight of the HBOC via (co)polymerization, or by …

Combined Hybrid Ardl-Garch-Bigru Model In Analyzing And Forecasting Currency In Circulation Issued By The Central Bank Of Iraq, Abdulrazzaq Tallal Akram, Omar Abdulmohsin Ali
Journal of Economics and Administrative Sciences
This research examines the dynamics and forecasting performance of currency in circulation (CIC) in Iraq. It uses a theoretical framework that recognizes long-run equilibrium relationships, short-run adjustment, volatility clustering, and nonlinear patterns. These complexities limit the adequacy of traditional linear models and motivate hybrid approaches. Accordingly, a triple hybrid model is employed. This combines autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL), Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity (GARCH) with Generalized Error Distribution (GED) to capture heavy-tailed behavior, and Bidirectional Gated Recurrent Unit (BIGRU). Stationarity is assessed using ADF tests. Residual diagnostic tests confirm heteroskedasticity, thereby justifying the inclusion of a GARCH component. The proposed model …

Peran Strategis Kesenian Nusantara Dalam Peta Jalan Indonesia Emas 2045, Muhammad Nur Salim, Harun Isma'il
Paradigma: Jurnal Kajian Budaya
The Indonesia Emas (Golden Indonesia) 2045 vision, which targets Indonesia's transformation into a developed nation, tends in practice to prioritize material development (economy, technology) at the risk of neglecting the nation's character-building. This article argues that the arts of the archipelago must be positioned as a strategic driver to address this gap. Using a literature study method and the conceptual frameworks of Soft Power and Creative Economy, this paper proposes a Cultural Roadmap based on three fundamental pillars. The first pillar is the Revitalization of Arts-Based Education to shape superior human resources with strong character and creativity. The second is …

Cartoon-Printed Uniforms: A Strategy To Ease Pediatric Hospital Anxiety, Karnellya R. Ohol, Janaki P. Shinde
Patient Experience Journal
This quasi-experimental study evaluated the effectiveness of cartoon-printed nurse uniforms in reducing anxiety among hospitalized children aged 3–12 years. Conducted at a tertiary care hospital in Maharashtra, India, the study included 100 participants (50 intervention, 50 control) who received care from nurses wearing either cartoon-printed uniforms or traditional clinical attire. Anxiety was assessed at baseline and on hospital days 2, 3, and 4 using validated age-appropriate scales: the modified Faces Anxiety Scale (ages 3–6) and the STAI-C short form (ages 7–12). Mixed-effects repeated-measures ANOVA demonstrated a significant group × time interaction (F(3,294) = 42.67, p < .001, partial η² = .304). Children cared for by nurses in cartoon uniforms showed a 48.8% reduction in anxiety compared to 14.7% in controls. Between-group effect sizes increased progressively across days (d = 0.87 to 2.13), indicating cumulative benefit rather than transient novelty. Clinically meaningful improvement (≥30% reduction) was achieved by 76% of intervention participants versus 24% of controls (NNT = 1.92). Staff acceptability was high (95%). Findings indicate that cartoon-printed uniforms are a simple, low-cost, high-impact environmental intervention that significantly enhances pediatric patient experience. Their strong clinical utility, ease of implementation, and alignment with child-centered care principles support adoption across pediatric healthcare settings.

Where Are They Now?: Chinese Tomboys In The Us, (Fe)Male Masculinity, And Recentering Home Via Queer Migration, Xinyan Mia Tong
Butler Journal of Undergraduate Research
T/TB (tomboy), as a sociolinguistic category that denotes masculine lesbians in the Chinese-speaking world, has long been criticized by community members and Western academics alike for being too heteronormative and reductive in comparison to the post-identity queer figure in Western gender/sexual discourses. Through the detailed life histories of three T/TBs who moved to the United States for college, I problematize this East/West binary within queer geography and present a more nuanced framework to understanding queer migration and queer globalization. I argue that my interlocutors, while highly diverse in their subjectivities, all strategically evoke the United States, as both a physical …
Curing Mermaidism: Exploring Disability, Gender And Performativity In The Little Mermaid And Its Adaptation, Sophia M. Shelley
Curing Mermaidism: Exploring Disability, Gender And Performativity In The Little Mermaid And Its Adaptation, Sophia M. Shelley
Butler Journal of Undergraduate Research
Fairy tales are a contested space in popular culture, often reinforcing hegemonic gender norms while offering sites of resistance. This paper examines Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid (1837) and Disney’s The Little Mermaid (1989) through feminist disability theory to explore how these stories depict the compulsion to perform able-bodiedness and heteronormativity to achieve social belonging. This paper argues that although both versions offer moments of queer and disabled subversion, they ultimately reinforce a cultural fantasy of normative embodiment by positioning mermaids as inherently Other and subhuman. Grounded in the work of scholars such as Rosemarie Garland-Thomson, Judith Butler, and …

Butler Journal of Undergraduate Research
This article evaluates the role of women and gender in pre-Christian Celtic paganism and how these concepts can be applied to the modern era, building on the prior understanding that Celtic women had more freedoms than other women during their time. I utilize archaeological findings, primary sources, and scholarly sources to develop an understanding and interpretation of how women and gender were perceived by the communities who observed and practiced these ancient belief systems. I argue, through the study of Celtic women ranging from figures in their mythologies to physical artifacts and accounts, that these women had a more significant …

Oral dispersible tablets (ODTs) are solid dosage forms that disintegrate into saliva without the need for water. Tizanidine is a centrally acting muscle relaxant used to manage spasticity from spinal or brain injuries. Preparing it as a flash (ODT) tablet may enhance patient compliance and potentially improve bioavailability by bypassing part of the first-pass metabolism. Methods: Six formulations of tizanidine flash tablets were developed using varying concentrations of mannitol (bulk-forming agent), glycine (to aid tablet collapse), and gelatin (matrix-forming agent). The formulations were evaluated for weight variation, …
