Synthesis Of Nitrogen-Enriched 3d Graphene Foam For Electrochemical Sensing Of Hydrogen Peroxide (H₂O₂), Bhargavi Dronavalli, Madhava Rao Vallabhaneni, Jatla Murali Prakash, Deepti Kolli, Dandamudi Srilaxmi

Karbala International Journal of Modern Science

In this work, A simple hydrothermal process was utilized to create 3D-foam-type Nitrogen-doped graphene (NDG). The synthesized material was characterized using a range of physicochemical characterization techniques. These techniques confirm that nitrogen is successfully incorporated into the carbon network, resulting in NDG. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) investigation demonstrated that NDG-modified glassy carbon electrode (NDG/GCE) displayed finite charge transfer properties against typical redox systems. NDG/GCE is identified as a simple, facile, and efficient electrocatalyst material for the estimation of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). From CV analysis, it is revealed that NDG/GCE can produce a signal for electrochemical quantification of …

Observational Activation Of Anterior Cingulate Cortical Neurons Coordinates Hippocampal Replay In Social Learning, Xiang Mou, Daoyun Ji

Faculty, Staff and Students Publications

Social learning enables a subject to make decisions by observing the actions of another. How neural circuits acquire relevant information during observation to guide subsequent behavior is unknown. Utilizing an observational spatial working memory task, we show that neurons in the rat anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) associated with spatial trajectories during self-running in a maze are reactivated when observing another rat running the same maze. The observation-induced ACC activities are reduced in error trials and are correlated with activities of hippocampal place cells representing the same trajectories. The ACC activities during observation also predict subsequent hippocampal place cell activities during …

Alterations in lipid profiles have been shown in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), but the underlying molecular mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, we aimed to investigate the role of cytochrome P450 family-1 subfamily B member 1 (CYP1B1) in cigarette smoke (CS)-induced lipid accumulation in alveolar type II epithelial (AT2) cells. We observed a steady increase in CYP1B1 protein levels in AT2 cells from COPD patients. Additionally, CS exposure induced CYP1B1 expression in AT2 cells of murine lungs. In vitro, treatment with cigarette smoke extract (CSE) not only upregulated CYP1B1 expression but also triggered lipid accumulation in AT2-like …

Some New Three-Term Conjugate Gradient Methods For Riemannian Optimization With Application To The Gough-Stewart Platform, Nasiru Salihu, Poom Kumam, Lin Wang, Sani Salisu Sep 2025

Some New Three-Term Conjugate Gradient Methods For Riemannian Optimization With Application To The Gough-Stewart Platform, Nasiru Salihu, Poom Kumam, Lin Wang, Sani Salisu

Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Simulation with Applications

Three-term conjugate gradient (TTCG) methods have been extensively studied for optimization within Euclidean geometry, with some inherently satisfying the sufficient descent property, thus enhancing their theoretical superiority. However, other TTCG methods have been developed that incorporate restarting the search direction, simplify the steepest descent approach, or rely on the convexity assumptions of f to establish their convergence results. This paper introduces the Riemannian three-term conjugate gradient (RTTCG) methods. The search direction in these RTTCG methods consistently satisfies the sufficient descent condition, regardless of the line search employed, and does so without requiring a restart mechanism. By utilizing retraction and vector …

High-Order Adaptive Solutions For Coupled Fractional Riccati Equations Via Daubechies Redundant Frames, Mutaz Mohammad, Alexander Trounev

Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Simulation with Applications

Coupled fractional Riccati equations play a fundamental role in modeling complex systems with memory effects and anomalous diffusion, frequently arising in engineering, control theory, finance, and quantum mechanics. Their analytical and numerical treatment remains highly challenging due to the nonlocal nature of fractional-order derivatives and the presence of nonlinear coupling terms. This study introduces an adaptive numerical framework that combines the Caputo fractional derivative with redundant Daubechies wavelet frames. The method leverages multi-resolution analysis, compact support, and controlled redundancy to achieve accurate approximation of both localized and global solution features, particularly in scenarios characterized by singular behavior and long-range memory …

Muthanna Medical Journal

Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy before the fetus can survive outside the uterus, either spontaneously (miscarriage) or intentionally (induced). On the other hand, induced abortions carried out for various reasons are referred to as elective abortions, whereas therapeutic abortions are performed to protect the pregnant woman's health. The gestational period is a particularly delicate time because it is characterized by major physiological changes in both the mother and the fetus. Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), cytomegalovirus (CMV), and Toxoplasma gondii are among the pathogenic agents that have been associated with pregnancy problems, including miscarriage. About 75% of all pregnancy …

The Consideration Of Two Scalarization Methods For The Multi-Objective Nurse-To-Patient Assignment Problem, Ilgın Acar, Steven E. Butt, Aydın Sipahioğlu, İslam Altın

Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Simulation with Applications

In this research, the application of two scalarization methods, namely the conic scalarization method and the $\varepsilon$-constraint method, is investigated within the context of a multi-objective optimization problem. These methods are used to address the challenge of assigning nurses to patients on a hospital unit during a shift. The two objective functions of this assignment problem are based on patient workload metrics and unit-related travel distance measures. The proposed solution approach demonstrates the ability to generate solutions that eluded the previous mathematical programming techniques that relied on simplistic weightings of conflicting objective functions. In addition, it is found that the …

Global Stability And Bifurcation Analysis Of A Predator-Prey Model Involving Allee Effect And Monod-Haldane Functional Response, Resmawan Resmawan, Agus Suryanto, Isnani Darti, Hasan S. Panigoro

Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Simulation with Applications

In this paper, the complexity of the dynamic behavior of the interaction between prey and predator is studied. The predator-prey relationship involves Allee effects and Monod-Haldane functional response. The constructed model has been shown to have validity in several respects, including the existence and uniqueness of the solution, as well as its non-negativity and boundedness. Three equilibrium points, namely trivial, axial, and coexistence points, are found, including their global dynamics using the Lyapunov function together with the LaSalle's invariance principle. The effect of the predation conversion rate causes changes in the dynamic behavior of predators and prey, which is characterized …

Solution Of Fractional Order Diffusion Equations With Clique Neural Network, Merve Zeynep Kaya, Mesut Karabacak, Ercan Çelik

Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Simulation with Applications

In this paper, the clique artificial neural network method is used to solve the fractional diffusion equation, which is a subclass of partial differential equations. The clique neural network architecture is constructed using input, hidden, and output layers. Several degrees of clique polynomials were used as activation functions, and the output layer was obtained by multiplying them with weight coefficients. Subsequently, the optimization equation was derived, and the exact solution, numerical solution, and error function graphs were obtained using a specialized algorithm. Analysis of the results demonstrates that the clique artificial neural network method provides quicker and more accurate results …

Synergistic Modeling Of Hydrogel Gelation Via Time-Delay Dynamics And Machine Learning Algorithms, Mine Babaoglu, Dipesh ., Pankaj Kumar, Jagjit Singh Dhatterwal, Mansoor Alsulami Sep 2025

Synergistic Modeling Of Hydrogel Gelation Via Time-Delay Dynamics And Machine Learning Algorithms, Mine Babaoglu, Dipesh ., Pankaj Kumar, Jagjit Singh Dhatterwal, Mansoor Alsulami

Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Simulation with Applications

This paper presents an integrated framework in which delay differential equation (DDE) modeling and machine learning (ML) approaches are coupled to study hydrogel formation kinetics, with emphasis on delayed crosslinker addition. Conventional mechanistic models disclose many physical and kinetic complexities of reacting mixtures; they seldom depict the nonlinear and time-evolving complexities inherent in developing polymer networks. To address this, a mathematical model is developed that examines how the insertion of crosslinkers affects system stability and equilibrium. Analytical and numerical results show that delays nearing critical levels cause bifurcation behavior with substantial implications on gelation kinetics. Sophisticated machine learning systems, including …
