Representations And Perceptions Of Sexual Pleasure In Undergraduate Anatomy And Physiology (A&P) Courses, Brenda Kucha Anak Ganeng
Representations And Perceptions Of Sexual Pleasure In Undergraduate Anatomy And Physiology (A&P) Courses, Brenda Kucha Anak Ganeng
Graduate Research Theses & Dissertations
The World Health Organization defines sexual pleasure as an important part of positive sexual experiences and sexual health. Despite its importance, sexual pleasure is often omitted from sexual health programming and curricula. Undergraduate human anatomy and physiology (A&P) courses serve as avenues where students who intend to go into health care learn foundational knowledge about human body systems and health; however, to our knowledge, there has been no documentation of if and how A&P students learn about sexual pleasure. A&P textbooks serve as an important resource for curriculum design and learning. I sought to answer the following research question: How …
Improving College Students’ Views And Beliefs Relative To Mathematics: A Systematic Literature Review Followed By A Multiple Case Mixed Methods Exploration Of The Experiences That Underpin Community College Students’ Attitudes, Self-Efficacy, And Values In Mathematics, Marquita H. Sea
Theses and Dissertations
Mathematics is particularly important due to its relevance in our daily lives. It is a general requirement throughout schooling. Unfortunately, many students openly declare negative views/beliefs regarding math in their personal and academic lives. These in turn, negatively influence students’ achievement related behaviors and outcomes. First, a systematic literature review was conducted to determine what types of studies/initiatives have aimed to enhance students’ views/beliefs relative to mathematics, including domain general and specific perceptions of math as well as their judgements of who is successful in mathematics and if they themselves can be successful. Specifically, the review centered on the components …
Designing, Developing, And Deploying Fast And Secure System Architecture With Autonomous Data Importation Feature For Statefarm’S Sponsored Lifefit App, Sushant Gupta
2021 Fall Honors Capstone Projects - Archive
Our sponsor, State Farm Insurance, is interested in creating a system that will maintain a record of profile for its customers’ daily health habits to get a better view of their overall health. The system should use Machine Learning on the user’s recorded health data, along with other health related information, to determine how healthy the individual is and to provide better health and/or life insurance rates to that individual. Concerning the sponsor requirements, we created the system called Lifefit Application. It is a mobile (Android and IOS) and web-based application which, with the support of AWS cloud computing and …
Development Of Methodology And Software To Ensure The Quality Performance Of The Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment High Voltage Field Cage, Archit Jaiswal
Development Of Methodology And Software To Ensure The Quality Performance Of The Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment High Voltage Field Cage, Archit Jaiswal
2021 Fall Honors Capstone Projects - Archive
The Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) is the U.S. flagship experiment being designed to study the characteristics of neutrinos which make up a quarter of the fundamental particle map. These subatomic particles help physicists understand the fundamental constituents of matter in the universe. In DUNE, neutrino interactions will be captured inside the active volume of the time projection chamber (TPC) using liquid argon (LAr) as the medium. The DUNE detector will be built using various parts assembled according to the proposed design which enables accomplishing the precision measurements for the underlying physics goals. The detector is constructed by assembling various …
A Practical Moral Theory The Failed State Of Normative Ethics, Gage Martinez
A Practical Moral Theory The Failed State Of Normative Ethics, Gage Martinez
2021 Fall Honors Capstone Projects - Archive
Normative ethics can be described as the investigation into how one ought to act, morally speaking. The state of contemporary normative ethics is, essentially, a split between consequentialist (the idea that things are morally right or wrong based on their consequence) and non-consequentialist thought. Yet in practice, no one seems to be able to live by these moral theories, and I argue that it would be bizarre to do so as well. I examine reasons to believe that neither theory provides a complete account of real moral life, and how they fail at being prescriptive in practice. I provide a …
Search For Low Mass Dark Matter Using Leptophilic Gauge Boson Model In Neutrino Experiments: Miniboone And Dune, Gajendra Gurung
Search For Low Mass Dark Matter Using Leptophilic Gauge Boson Model In Neutrino Experiments: Miniboone And Dune, Gajendra Gurung
2021 Fall Honors Capstone Projects - Archive
Dark Matter (DM) is a form of matter that makes about 25% of the universe as indicated by cosmological evidence, like weak gravitational lensing, cosmic microwave background, rotation of spiral galaxies, etc. Despite its abundance, DM limitedly interacts with light or normal matter, thus, it is difficult to study and d etect. In search of DM, we go beyond the Standard Model (SM) of Particle Physics by introducing models with particles that only interact weakly with known SM particles. We study different models and search for signatures of such particles in the proton dump mode of neutrino experiments, such as …

Cfd Study: Influence Of Angle Of Attack And Ground Effect On Racecar Wings, Yogesh Gautam
2021 Fall Honors Capstone Projects - Archive
Aerodynamics is a very important factor while designing a racecar. Slight changes in the profile of the body could be the difference between winning and losing a race. In this study, the wing designed for the Global Electric Vehicle Challenge by Everest Engineering, a student team from the University of Texas at Arlington, is simulated to analyze its aerodynamic properties. The simulation is done on a single element wing with varying angles of attack and height from the ground. The Solid model is prepared in solid works and the computational fluid dynamics simulations are performed through ANSYS Fluent. The main …
Parameter Estimation And Sensitivity Analysis Through Mathematical Modeling Of Colon Cancer, Achyuth Manoj
Parameter Estimation And Sensitivity Analysis Through Mathematical Modeling Of Colon Cancer, Achyuth Manoj
2021 Fall Honors Capstone Projects - Archive
We formulated a new and efficient method to propose a personalized treatment platform for colorectal cancer. A mathematical model of colon cancer was used and is comprised of a system of differential equations, which model various cell dynamics. The dynamics are dependent on patient-specific parameters that are unknown which we estimate given patient data in form of cell measurements. We approached this estimation as an inverse problem based on an optimization framework and developed computational optimization techniques created on non-linear conjugate gradient methods to solve for the optimal set of parameters for a specific patient. These optimal parameters are then …
The Visualization Of Wireless Network Data In Augmented Reality, Tiffany Frias
The Visualization Of Wireless Network Data In Augmented Reality, Tiffany Frias
2021 Fall Honors Capstone Projects - Archive
The visualization of wireless networks has been a research topic so computer scientists can understand what cannot be seen with the naked eye and advance in specialized fields such as data visualization, cyber security, and computer networking. Flying a drone with a microcontroller around a building, signal strength and location data points of wireless networks can be collected and uploaded into a cloud database like AWS (Amazon Web Services), or Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB. On the Unity platform used for game development, developers can create a program that pulls such data from the cloud in real-time. Using this data, they …

Integration Of Information Technology Certifications Into Undergraduate Computing Curriculum, Eng Lieh Ouh, Kyong Jin Shim
Research Collection School Of Computing and Information Systems
This innovative practice full paper describes our experiences of integrating information technology certifications into an undergraduate computing curriculum. As the technology landscape evolves, a common challenge for educators in computing programs is designing an industry-relevant curriculum. Over the years, industry practitioners have taken technology certifications to validate themselves against a base level of technical knowledge currently in demand in industry. Information technology (IT) certifications can also offer paths for academic computing programs to stay relevant to industry needs. However, identifying relevant IT certifications and integrating it into an academic curriculum requires a careful design approach as substantial efforts are needed …

Biology Faculty Works
Answers to mechanistic questions about biological phenomena require fluency in a variety of molecular biology techniques and physical concepts. Here, we present an interdisciplinary approach to introducing undergraduate students to an important problem in the areas of animal behavior and neuroscience—the neuronal control of animal behavior. In this lab module, students explore planarian behavior by quantitative image and data analysis with freely available software and low-cost resources. Planarians are ∼1–2-cm-long aquatic free-living flatworms famous for their regeneration abilities. They are inexpensive and easy to maintain, handle, and perturb, and their fairly large size allows for image acquisition with a webcam, …
“I Am Not Alone”: Impact Of Participating In A Group-Level Assessment For Undergraduate Women Engineering Students, Batsheva R. Guy, Brittany Arthur
“I Am Not Alone”: Impact Of Participating In A Group-Level Assessment For Undergraduate Women Engineering Students, Batsheva R. Guy, Brittany Arthur
i.e.: inquiry in education
Group Level Assessment (GLA) allows participants/co-researchers the opportunity to voice their opinion on a specific topic, while also developing action strategies for change. The purpose of the method is to empower participants and provide them an outlet to share their experiences, in addition to develop a salient action plan. In this article, we describe how the process of participating in a GLA impacted the undergraduate women engineering students that participated. We conclude that merely facilitating a GLA positively impacted participants, aside from the action steps. Women that participated in the GLA felt supported and that their voice was heard, as …
